Very quick and efficient check in process. Priority pass worked seamlessly and i was into the lounge in less than 60 seconds. The lounge was well kept and overall very clean. Lots of different seating styles/options to choose from. Food selection and options were very average. Only a few hot items and the simple 'charcuterie-like items' cheeses, meat, etc were picked over and almost gone. In my 15 minutes at the lounge (quick stay du to tight layover) the food was never refreshed or stocked back up. read more

Surprisingly, there is no American Express Centurion lounge at the Minneapolis airport, so Amex card holders are routed to this Escape Lounge located on the 2nd floor of the main mezz in Terminal 1. The lounge is part of Priority Pass network, so my wife and I got in that way. There was no wait, though finding seats took a bit of time. There was two buffet areas, the main one holding salads and breads, with the side one holding 4 hot entrees. I tried all of them, and the food was OK, better than airplane food. The soup was potato leek, and it was good. Good choice of salads including a good tomato salad and decent tasting sandwiches. The bar attendants were nice, and I was able to get a local beer from the bar. Pretty sure they use the same food service company that the centurion lounges use, since both are serviced by the same company. The weather had gotten a lot warmer in Minneapolis, and the airport itself was warm. But even for a Saturday afternoon, the Escape lounge was full and the ventilation system wasn't fully powered up to use A/C, so it was uncomfortable in the lounge. Thus once we finished our food and drink, gave up our seats to waiting folks and went to the less crowded gate area to wait for our flight back to Los Angeles. read more

As far as lunges go, this one is pretty standard. Typical continental breakfast fare (eggs, sausage, potato) but not too tasty. Coffee was pretty good. Latte maker was getting refilled and cleaned at 830am (bad time for a cleaning imo). Staff is friendly and laid back. Cleanliness is a bit iffy. People were working, but there was hair on every chair (I think the chair attracts them). And a cleaning lady started to help with refilling coffee beans but continued using the gloves she was wearing while cleaning. read more

Decent cozy lounge for the frequent travel card holder like priority pass. It's a smaller than Chase Sapphire and Capital One Lounges but still a good place to stop and grab some grub and drinks. They're complimentary or at a fee to enter if you don't have a travel card membership. Food choice were a bit limited but decent enough to eat. If you have good allergies like gluten you may have to request for specific allergens in the food as they are not indicated in the food labels. Compared to other airport lounges, it lacks additional amenities such as a wellness room, nursing room, to go area for the traveler in a rush, additional food options j closing food allergen labels, maintained furniture as some of the furniture showed wear and tear. Decent lounge option at MSP. I went there twice- on the way out and return, as my layover was there. It was easy to find. It was in the mezzanine level so you can take the stairwell or the elevator if you have luggage. The best thing about this place (or the airport as a whole) is it's not crowded. There was no wait to get into the lounge both times. I had such a heavy backpack with me so it was nice to sit down and take a break from it. The food selection for both breakfast and lunch was good. Hot food and cold food including fruits and salad. They also had desserts. I was able to relax after a long haul flight. I'll definitely return! read more

Solid overall, a bit forgettable as far as lounges go but nice to have. I was just coming from KC where the airport is new and the lounge is even newer. It was a five star experience, so naturally the next one won't hit quite the same. When I was here midday, it was busy but not crowded, and I was able to find a nice enough seat and.... lounge for a bit, getting some work done. The food wasn't really all that appealing, so I got a black coffee that was fine. The confusing part to me is most of these have a restroom but the one here was through some doors. Are you out of the lounge if you use it? That's the great mystery. I was done either way so I headed to my gate. I enjoy the quieter reprieve and WiFi, but honestly this wasn't that different than just getting a decent seat by my gate. read more

Checking in was a breeze, and no reservations were required - note, however, that if you are not a member of the network, there is a different in cost between those who made advanced reservations compared to those who are walk-ins. The food was limited, and although they did refill often, they were just not piping hot and almost on the cold end - the bean dip was super cold, and the chicken marsala and the mac and cheese were just not heated at all. The variety of items on the buffet line is pretty good! If you have a group of four, they save tables for bigger groups with reserved signs. It's a huge help! They are trying to keep the flow of traffic better so that the wait isn't long. We enjoyed the complimentary drinks and snacks while we waited on a flight that was delayed for three hours. The bathrooms are clean and the lounge has so many windows it feels very open and not too cramped. If you have time and have a priority pass, swing by it's worth it! read more

A great way to escape the hectic, stressful environment at the airport. However, to make it fair, I need to compare this lounge to others that I've been. With that being said, in contrast to SFO, this lounge was lacking both the cuisine, the space, and the interior aesthetic. Although some dishes are good i.e. rice and mac n cheese. Honestly I feel like this is one of the better lounges in terms of food that I've had in the US. I came the Monday of President's Day weekend and I was genuinely very surprised that the place was packed. It was interesting because the lounge size of this was around the same as the lounge size of PGH next door but there was a lot more people here. I'm so glad I'm an Amex cardholder because we would've had to wait 20+ minutes otherwise. The food here was honestly quite good. I appreciate that they had a list of options available so you knew what you were getting. Shoutout to the sundried tomatoes chicken rice as well as the parmesan broccoli. Although both was a bit salty, I feel like eating those definitely felt like a full dinner to me which was great. They also always were refilling the food once it was running low which I appreciated. I will say the one part that was a bit weird was the fact that you needed to physically leave the lounge to get to the bathrooms as it was this back hallway situation. Otherwise, I think this is a great lounge and especially if you haven't eaten yet, you can definitely count this place towards one of your meals. This is a Priority Pass lounge, so you can expect a large crowd, and that is definitely what was here. Thankfully, my wife and I were able to get right in without a wait. The space is laid out in a wide rectangle, with the window seats completely filled. They look right out on the terminal and runway with a great view. Since it was pretty packed, we grabbed a few seats in the center of the area. A bit wonky as they are spaced out to maximize amount of seating, but not conducive for people with more than 1 in their party. There were a few warm food options, which were tasty. Several salad and cold snacks available. Appreciate the sodas and there was a full bar too. Restroom is basic, so don't expect a shower. Staff is constantly picking up dishes and cups, so that helps to open up seating and keeps the place clean. My only annoyance was with other people in the lounge talking so loudly on their phones with the speaker on. There is no auditory privacy in the space so everyone can hear what everyone else is doing and saying, especially if you have the volume turned up on your phone speaker. Overall, I appreciated having a spot to grab some food and relax before my flight. read more

There was a dessert bar with kind of crunchy cookies and small donuts. It was almost out when we got there but they refilled it. The drinks at the bar are strong, even stronger if you tip. Someone comes around occasionally, maybe a few times an hour, to bus the tables. They officially had no seating at about 6pm on a Sunday, but we scooted 3 seats together. At that point there was also a line to get in, and I think soon afterwards they stopped letting people in for a bit. This is a solid mid-range lounge. We came here because I have a Priority Pass membership, and weirdly enough is right by another lounge (this one is better, though!) I'd say this lounge is a bit more simple but was nice and clean during our visit. The seating is set up to add a bit more privacy, which I really appreciated. You can also get a nice view of the outside of the airport while you relax. We came around breakfast time and it was a pretty decent selection of food. I've recently been disappointed with my visits. The lounge is much busier than it used to be, largely due to allowing Priority Pass holders to enter instead of just American Express card holders. The front desk has also started to just continue letting in guests even after all of the seats are taken in the lounge. The amount of people they let in makes it difficult to get work done or take a call. There was a contractor visiting and taking measurements, but it seems to have just been for a mural, rather than making more space. A lot of the seats are showing significant signs of age, wear, and disrepair, which makes the space less inviting. The bar service has become very poor. Bartenders are slow, both to take your order and to serve you, and they will cut you off after 2 drinks, even if over 2 hours. This is the only lounge I've ever been in where that's been the case. The food has been okay and ample, and the espresso machine works most of the time. I would skip this lounge and stick to the Delta SkyClub's if I was you. They have much better service and much better space. read more

Having a Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card gets you access to Priority Pass, which in turn gets you access to some airport lounges. This is a really nice perk that we've taken advantage of on some longer layovers, including at MSP. Nate and I weren't able to get into this Escape Lounge last time we flew through MSP, but they recently opened it up to Priority Pass holders so that was a nice surprise. They scanned my digital Priority Pass card and we were able to get in right away (sometimes they have a wait if they're at capacity). The front desk employee was super friendly and patient. The food offerings were interesting and varied - chicken and rice, mac and cheese, roasted broccoli, charcuterie, mini sandwiches, fruit, etc. I really liked the roasted broccoli and was happy to get some veggies in while traveling (not always the easiest)! They offer free drinks from the bar, but we just stuck with canned pop since it was Dry January. They were great about clearing our empty plates from our table quickly. There is no private bathroom for this lounge; you have to go outside into an exterior hallway and it wasn't the nicest but pretty clean. The layout of the lounge is a bit cramped but we were able to get a table for two and had access to an outlet to charge our phones. Overall it's a decent lounge, definitely not the best but also not the worst we've experienced. If you have a long layover and can get free access, I'd say give it a try. read more

This was one of the more "meh" lounges I have visited in my travels. I arrived at the airport prior to a recent flight and wanted to relax a bit before heading to the gate. I had seen Escape listed as a lounge and decided to check it out. Located on the upper level of Terminal 1 near where concourses D, E, and F converge, it's a nice space with a view of the planes on the tarmac. Like many lounges, this one seems to be suffering from overcrowding. It was hard to find a place to sit once I was there, and I hesitated to leave it to grab some food. Speaking of food, most of it was bland-looking and lacked in flavor. Even the lemonade that I got tasted watered-down. While I appreciated having a place to wait that is a little less hectic than the rest of the airport, I'll add this lounge to my list of places not to visit next time. read more

Easy to find and up the stairs or elevator on mezzanine level. Strange one door entrance/exit which gets jammed if there's a line of people coming in/out one door. Check in moves quickly. It's spacious with plenty of seating areas. Staff were sparse but friendly. Visited on a Sunday about 10am. Scanned the menu on the table tents to learn more. Saw "meatless vegan sausage" available by request which was exciting since there were only two vegan options: breakfast potatoes and oatmeal. Asked the front desk staffer who went in back to check. He came out to tell me I was correct in that they offer it but that it wasn't ready yet. So I sat down for another twenty minutes and thought I'd ask again how to get it. He went back to check again and came out with a new story that the chef wasn't there today. Huh? Disappointed they suggest you can order this. They're frozen and take all of five minutes to cook. Nice place to sit back relax and watch the planes take off and landing. Lots of seating area. Dedicated complimentary full bar and self service espresso - coffee area on the other end. Hot food selections were limited with 3-4 at most. No Togo container. Dine in option only. One dessert - carrot cake and several cookie selections were available. All in all, not too bad. Yesterday's experience at this Escape Room lounge felt like I was at a crowded gate, but with free food and drink. The Lounge is located above the entrance to Concourse E and once we found seating, it was a relatively pleasant 1.5 hour wait prior to our Delta flight home. As I'm counting my drinks these days (2 per day), I opted for soft drinks and coffee in anticipation of some wine in flight and a beer when we finally got home. Gayle had a couple glasses of wine and once we jerry-rigged a plug arrangement, we go down to some screen time. As I wasn't very hungry anyway, I didn't really care that the food offerings were mostly uninspiring. And the people (staff and fellow customers) were nice, with a big bonus of no crying babies or screaming toddlers. read more

This is a very solid, reliable lounge in the Minneapolis airport accessible via Amex. Every time I have visited there have always been seats, and the food/beverage/snacks were always stocked well. The food options are more on the light bite/snacking side, especially since the plates they give are very small, but you can still make a meal out of it if needed. The lounge has various seating options, including many for solo travelers like myself. Plus, it's been usually quiet so it's nice to be able to get some work done. First off, there was a wait to get in where they put you on a wait-list and then you get a text when you can enter. That was fine, with the number of lounges available. The lounge was pretty full, I asked a host to wipe down a table. She was clearly overworked so her response was snappy explaining that she was the only one working the tables. I thanked her for helping me out and clearing the table. The food was stocked well considering how full the lounge was. There were a decent number of vegetarian dishes - Mac and cheese, cheese platters, dips and chips. Overall, if you have complimentary access to this lounge, it's not a bad pitstop. But I would not recommend paying to enter the lounge. read more
