Alex and Elyse provided my wife and I with a 4 day itinerary for our trip to the Hudson Valley. They also gave us a number of places where we could safely park our camper overnight. While the weather was not 100% cooperative we had a great time "roughing" it and got a chance to see the town of Beacon and also visited the Dia! We got it home and cleaned the Rv and sprayed a bug spray, just incase if there are any bugs. we went ahead and started packing our belongings and next day morning before loading the RV we cleaned one more time and we saw a roaches crawling out of the seat. We called the Cruise America Kenvil people and told them we saw a roaches, for that he mentioned you can get an insect bomb and leave it for 5 hours. First of all, I didn't expect that response, it was as if I was supposed to expect a roaches in the truck. Then we also called the main customer service and after explaining, they told me I can get it back to the place and refund will be a discussion between me and the cruise America people. We did try to get that insect bomb which he suggested and left it over night thinking it might have been only one . Next day morning we saw another in behind the driver seat. We called them that we are bringing the rv back and he said okay. When we got it back he said he cannot just take the RV back like that. then he called the main office Arizona and then he said you can leave the RV but we will not give any refund. he handed over the phone to some woman from main branch and she was so inconsiderate. She simply said leave the rv and no refund. worst was when we say something she just keeps quite and then just repeat the same thing again. This is the worst experience ever. its soo much financial lose for us. The thing which hurt most was their carefree attitude, and NO accountability at all. On the worst part, the truck which we got, looked super old model like the tires makes a very squeaky noise when you turn. I am not sure if that's normal with RV trucks as this was my very first one , so don't have anything to compare with.

We bought the added insurance. Picked it up with no gas, was told the generator needs at least half a tank to work - it will function when we get gas and pull over. Got gas, started the drive. Generator took 2 hours in a parking lot to get working. 90 degrees, no AC. Finally get that up and running. 350 miles into our documented and paid for 2500 mile trip- the gears start slipping. After waiting in a service station for 2 hours, with zero help from both the location we rented from or Cruise America's travel assistance line- we googled RV transmissions. Turns out, fluid needs to be addressed at 100k and 150k miles. Looking at the odometer- 150,325- we decided to locate the transmission fluid. Bone dry. After being assured that all fluids were checked, and told we can't pick up our vehicle early because it's being inspected- we find out the fluid was never checked. 1 day into our trip, 350 miles, and it's ended in a parking lot. CruiseAmerica is trying to send my family home in a rental car, with no regard to our vacation time lost. 2 kids, 2 dogs, 3 adults, and a weeks worth of personal belongings in this RV. Just leave it all behind, along with the dreams you had of a vacation, and accept partial refund. Cruise America won't give full names of any supervisors. No direct lines. Call centers are busy, can be heard in the background calming other angry customers down. We were told days ago we would have a replacement vehicle. After talking to 2 cruise America locations (outside of the one I rented from) I found out there are several units available for rent. But when the word "replacement" was used - everything changed. They won't lose money on a potential rental to get us home safe. Runaround for 3 days, and threatening to leave us here. Told us to drive the unsafe vehicle to a dump station. Calling the police and the news. Do not give this company a dime of your hard earned money. We spent our vacation time begging for Cruise America to hold up their end of our contract. Unkept promises like the one below, for days.

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!!…read more I recently had a terrible experience with RV #14. A $3200 week long family vacation became pure hell on wheels. After voicing my concerns below to the owner, her solutions were A. Drive back 5 hours and swap out the RV for a far smaller one; or B. Cut our long planned trip short, eat our money on the camp site and theme park reservations we had and she would give us a refund just for the rental. Was not willing to bring another RV to us, which given the cost of the rental doesn't seem like a big ask. Very apparent we were inconveniencing her by letting her know of all the issues with the RV. Issues: - Bathroom door divider broke off the hinge 1 hour into driving. - Rear Interior Tire blew out 2 hours into driving (Emergency Services said it could of been avoided with proper inflation). - Black water tank was still full upon initial hookup. - Toilet backed up due to very old feces build up. - The TV wiring was all disconnected. - AV system not properly hooked up. - Left outside awning speaker blown out. - No Direct TV installed despite being advertised. - Greeted to filth underneath the slide out after extending. - Wheel alignment was messed up out of the gate. - GPS Informatics Unit's USB kept disconnecting and reconnecting. Also does not charge phone. - Door to the slide-out pantry next to the fridge was jimmy-rigged together; Did not hold up within the first day. - Bunk above the drivers seat smelled like mold. - Zone 2 of the AC (Front Cabin Area) seems to need Freon. - Due to the tire blowout, the slides wiring was damaged. Lost a day waiting for a mechanic. - Filth every where, the wall between the pantry and bathroom had brown stains all over it. - Owner purposely disconnected the leveling jacks, making for an unleveled experience on site. - External side marker lights were inoperable prior to the tire blow out. Warning: The mechanic who fixed the slide-out warned there are a lot of disconnected wires underneath the RV that were purposely disconnected. He said he had not seen a newer RV in such disrepair before. Even if the owner wants to reconnect the leveling jacks, he doubts they would work due to no fluid in them and poor maintenance. DO NOT RENT RV #14 (Largest C class she has) About the owner: - Customer Service is not her pedigree - Relies on you watching her terrible videos for operation instructions instead of taking the time to personally walk you thru the RV. - Makes up pricing on the fly. - Rude - Did I mention rude? Insinuated my wife dyes her hair for no reason what-so-ever! *** Anyone who sublets their RV's to her be leery. She does not take care of your vehicle as she claims to. Our trip was a test run to purchase an RV and possibly use her for consignment. She gave us a load of BS about how she takes care of them like they are her own. I'd hate to see how she treats the things she owns. I am glad this miserable experience occurred though because I wound up not going the consignment route. Had I had done so , I would be taking her to court if I found out she had not cared for it like she hadn't for my recent rental.*** PS: They have two accounts on Yelp! for some reason.

The employees are super smug, and there isn't a way to reach the office by phone. I was late to my job and almost fired as a result of not being able to find a rental car anywhere else. The incompetence of this company was astounding. There were 30 other people who had been waiting for hours for their cars and kept being told that at best, they might get them later that afternoon. After speaking to representatives at Avis, all they did was offer me discounts. They had no accountability at all and didn't even remotely care about how the customers were being impacted. Use anybody but this company.
