Adam and his staff were extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and welcoming, and they took the time to explain everything without making me feel like I was out of my element. I ultimately decided on the X-Lab RS7 Di2, a full-carbon bike with electronic shifting that I got for around $3,300 W/ Continental tires upgrade. Still about half of what I would have expected to pay for a similar bike from some of the bigger-name brands. Adam gave me a great breakdown of X-Lab compared to the larger brands, and I'm extremely happy with my decision. They also did a customized fit based on my height, riding style, and what I wanted out of the bike, and Adam helped me with upgrades like better Continental tires, a more comfortable saddle, and pedals. Travis was also great and took the time to explain additional accessories, maintenance, and everything I needed to know about the electronic shifting and taking care of the bike. The customer service was honestly what impressed me the most. Adam consistently stayed in contact with me and kept me updated on the bike's arrival, which was important because this particular model has been difficult to find and sells out quickly. I had contacted other shops that said they would take my information and get back to me, but I never heard from them. Even though Planetary Cycles is about an hour across town from me, I specifically wanted to give them my business because of the level of service I received. Adam and his entire crew made the whole experience easy, comfortable, and enjoyable, especially for someone who is still learning about the cycling world. I couldn't be happier with the bike or the experience, and I'll definitely be going back to Planetary Cycles for future bikes, upgrades, and service. Highly recommend Adam and his team to anyone, especially if you're newer to cycling and want a shop that will actually take the time to educate you and make sure you get the right bike and setup for your needs.

He diagnosed my bike, and told us the rim was too bent to fix. He put a replacement rim on it, fixed my brakes as they were also damaged, and added a kickstand at my request(bike got run i we because it was laying instead of being propped up) Total for these repairs was $110 and it took less than a week for my bike to be ready. Will definitely be back if i need any repairs, snd possibly to buy one of these super dope low rider bikes.

I even learned how to take a front tire off thank you for that! $11 for parts and $10 for labor to get a tube replaced in my bike which is pretty standard so fair pricing. A nice gentleman with a face tattoo serviced my bike. He had it done and ready to go by the time I returned. So it was such a smooth process. Even while leaving I had another worker open the door and offer to assist me putting my bike back in the car. I just loved the overall warm, kind, and helpful customer service here. I mentioned some of the other things I was planning to buy eventually, and instead of trying to upsell me or push products on me, the guy helping me just gave me a ton of honest, useful information. That's honestly pretty rare nowadays. He recommended some padded cycling shorts to help with the pain I was having from longer rides and being a new rider, and I also picked up a tire chain lubrica. What stood out most was that he never felt like a salesman -- he just felt like a real, down-to-earth person who clearly loves bikes and enjoys helping people. Bike tide #1 was at a park and once I decided to ride one, it took me forever to figure it out after signing up with an app. It turned out I was putting my card in wrong. I thought the machine was being mean. Ride #1 was pretty good on my 30 minute ride. It's best to check the speed adjustment and try the looseness or tightness of the handle bars, pedaling, and braking system before taking off. (1st time trail and sidewalk) My 2nd excursion was at another location close to the 1st one. Again, I was just trying to get 30 minutes of exercise in to my program. I always save about 3 to 5 minutes to make sure I place the bicycle back before an extra charge. I thoroughly enjoyed these bicycle opportunities. I'm not through yet. Houston B-Cycle is SO fun, easy and inexpensive…read more My wife and I enjoyed 24 hour access to bikes across the downtown area for only $5 (all tax and fees included) The catch is you only get a 60 minute session at a time, before having to return it to a location. But the plus side is you can literally return it to any of their locations for 1 second and then rent them again (as long as not all the bikes are rented at that location, and someone isn't waiting for a bike). If you go over the 60 minute session, I believe it's a couple more bucks for an extra 30 minutes. Such a great addition to the area, and so much fun. Check them out next time you're in the area!

I started the work myself, then quickly realized I needed an expert to do this stuff or I was going to mangle everything. Broken Spoke Bicycle was #3 on my search, and the closest to me, so I set up an appointment on a Sunday afternoon at 2. Jonathan took the better part of half an hour to walk me through some of the more important things on my bike, what to look for and how to fix it, aired up my existing tires (didn't need a new tube after all!), and then tinkered with my brakes to ensure they worked properly. All while explaining what he was doing and why, and showing me the tools I would need to do them if I ever got caught out on my own with a broken bike. After he helped me wedge my bicycle BACK into my sedan trunk, I asked him how much I owed him. He waved his hand dismissively and said "All I did was put air in your tires." No, sir. What you did was cement your position as my go-to bike guy for the rest of my time with this - or any - bicycle!
