On the one hand it's a great location with good service and decent prices that will mostly stand by their guarantees and what not. On the other hand, they get way too busy, and if you come within the last hour of closing, don't expect good service. My wife bought a Dual Sport 1 on wednesday 2nd, for a sale price of $599. (regular price $749.99). She got home and I start checking it out. I don't know anything about the part of the bicycle but you can see in the picture a really big scratch. We took back the bicycle the next day thursday 3rd to exchange it for a non scratch one. They only had a silver Dual Sport 2. Price was $699 (regular price $849). Dylan told us that he can receive the red DS1 and give us the DS2. We made sure that we didn't have to pay anything so we asked him twice, we DON'T have to pay the difference right? He said clearly NO a few times. Ok in our mind we were happy because it was a newer bicycle for the same price. Than this guy comes at us (mexican tall guy with long hair) saying that we have to pay the difference around $110 and with a very rude mood. The same guy who sold my wife the bicycle that was very happy and attentive that day selling the bicycle and explaining everything the next day was very rude to us. So either you pay the $110 or you get a discount for the scratch $40 off. We said this person "dylan" told us that we can take the DS 2 for the same price now you come to me with this WOW. After arguing for a few seconds he than leave and literally yell at dylan ok give it for the same price and he was mad very mad. So poor customer service, the problem wasn't us, his problem was with his partner. I think dylan made a little mistake because he got confused for the prices with the discout and thought it was the same price. We also talked to dylan and ask him, hey we don't want you to get you in trouble we can take the same DS1 and wait for the arrival to the store no worries and he apologies and said no worries you can take the DS2 for the same price. This mexican tall guy and long haired walk trough us with a mad face even not doing eye contact with us when asking for our receipt but the day before way more sweet when selling the bicycle HAHA. Very very good customer service for dylan. Really bad customer service for the tall guy with long hair. After this my wife decided to test the bicycle in the parking lot outside of the Trek store. She loved it but the rear brake did a weird sound when breaking so this tall guy again was outside of the store and I gently ask him why is this sound? He responded "it may be because of the condensation inside of the store give it a 20-30 minute ride here at the parking lot and it will go away". Who is going to give a 20-30 minute ride in the parking lot in the middle of the day with the heat of houston with casual clothes? So we left the store. Later that day my wife got to ride her new bike in a park for 45 minutes and the weird brake sound still doing it. So almost a $700 bicycle, trek top 3 brand of the word and a poor customer service. I thought it will be a better experience with you guys. We are taking the bicycle to another store because I could not imagine getting there and get help by this guy. I have been to two Bike Barns and have a great experience and a horrible experience. I am happy to report that this Bike Barn is phenomenal. My wife and I bought two Trek bikes from Gordon back in February. Gordon was extremely friendly and patient and let us try out countless bicycles on numerous test rides. He was extremely knowledgeable and never pressured us in any way. He alone is worthy of a 5 star review. Fast forward a few months, our bicycles that are a little over 2 months were stolen and we returned for replacement bikes. While Gordon was off this day, his co-worker Jeffrey was working and actually remembered us from last visit. He even remembered the bikes we originally purchased. Jeffrey was appalled and genuinely sad as to what happened to us. He helped us find replacement bikes and once again represented the store in a top notch manner of professionalism and friendliness while never pressuring us in any way. Bottom line is this location is superb. If you have any bicycle needs from purchasing to service I highly recommend you give this location a shot. You won't regret it. read more

Awesome customer service! Initially I took my bike to Bike lane for repairs because it had two flats. The guys there didn't even check my tubes, just aired up the tires and sent me on my way. As soon as I tried to ride... boom! Front flat tire. So I take my bike over to Memorial Bike Barn and Corbin was super helpful in getting me all fixed up. I brought my son's bike in at around 4:30 pm on a Sunday afternoon, as we are on a family bike ride and he got a flat tire. They did have the replacement tube in stock, but they refused to change the tire for me, stating that they were too backed up and that I could bring it back the next day. I informed them that I really would appreciate it if they could change the tire, as we were all on a family bike ride, and would like to finish out the rest of our ride that afternoon. I purchased a new bike at this new location the second day they were open. The staff was friendly and sincerely interested in helping pick the right bike to meet my needs. The purchase experience was smooth and they made me feel that I made the right decision. I returned just this week to get a one-month tune-up. The bike was ok, just experiencing some minor adjustment issues. The staff took the bike in immediately and had me on my way in less than 20 minutes. I went out the next day on a ride and WOW, what a difference. The bike is perfect and the adjustments made all the difference in the world. Smooth, quiet operation that I expected from an upgraded ride. The staff at his store are great and don't make you feel intimidated. They are knowledgeable and helpful. I live closer to another Bike Barn, but don't get the same service or feeling at that store. The Wirt Rd. location may be small and new, but they have the customer service routine perfected already. read more

Must not need my business...Dropped my bike off for tune-up, new chain, new tires on 9/24. Receipt gave due date of 9/29 @ 4:30PM. Went to pick up my bike midday on 9/30 only to find out that they hadn't even touched my bike yet. I needed the bike before leaving town with it on 10/1, which I had told the gentleman checking me in. Had I received a phone call letting me know that they were running behind I would have at least had the option to bring my bike elsewhere, but no such customer consideration was given. A simple phone call would have made this experience understandable, even if not ideal, under the current circumstances. I called Saturday morning asking about lead-time for bike repairs and told 2-3 days. Dropped off my 15+ year old Mongoose for maintenance and was told it would be ready by Tuesday. David called me on Monday to let me know the front tire should be replaced and what the additional cost would be. The bike was ready on Tuesday as David suggested when I dropped it off and the bike rides better than it did when it was new. Initial consultation, cost, and overall service was better than expected. I just purchased a bike and assembled it from the box myself. I went to the Bike Barn near me to get the brakes checked out and a bolt on the handlebar loosened. The first gentleman I spoke to was very helpful. We made an appointment for a safety inspection a few days from then because they were busy that day. He also gave me a couple bolts that I needed for free. When I came back a few days later to drop the bike off, I talked with another gentleman--Dave--and told him what I was doing. He said he'd check the breaks right there (and he also fixed the handlebar bolt) while I watched and learned. He gave the bike a look-over, fixed the brakes while I watched, and charged me only for the brake adjustments, which was $20 less than what I had been quoted for the full safety inspection. I live close by this location and had to make several trips to get a bike tire fixed. They were finally able to identify the problem and get a permanent fix.
