My friends and I rented all 5 cabins at the Magalloway Inn…read more Prior to arrival, Bob, the owner, communicated quickly and appropriately. Upon arrival, Bob greeted us, had all the paperwork ready, reviewed a few rules and including his recommendations for local hang outs. While bob lives on the same property, he remained out of sight for the weekend unless we needed him. He even offered us firewood and charcoal as we had forgotten those two items. The cabins were better than expected. Each had a kitchen with fridge, microwave, coffee maker and fully equipped with all cooking utensils, cleaning supplies et al. The kitchen shared space with a living room that and a table, futon and even cable TV! There were even two ceiling fans and a window fan. There was a queen size bed in the bedroom, a separate sink and private bathroom/shower combo. There were plenty of hooks. Towels and sheets were supplied as well. Each cabin also has a screened in front porch with two chairs and a table which were perfect for sitting outside without being bothered by bugs. The cabins were very clean and well maintained. The property is very quiet and serene. There is a large party sized tent with six picnic tables. There is also a large fire pit area with Adirondack chairs. The price was very appropriate for the quality of the cabins. A very short walk across the street led to a river and a dock. While we didn't fish, it would definitely be a place that you could fish. There is a small convenient store right next to the Inn that had any items you may have forgotten. They even had a small menu for fresh grilled items and rented kayaks for the day. We chose Magalloway Inn because of its location to ATV trails and were happily surprised with the quality of the cabins and the kindness of our host. I would recommend staying there if you are looking for a place in northern NH.

First off, let me just start by saying we went up to Pittsburgh to have a nice relaxing weekend. We…read morestayed in the Evergreen cabin, which we have stayed several times in the past and had a great experience. The Friday night that we arrived there a bad storm came through and wiped the power out which we lost heat and of course, the electricity around 11 PM to roughly 5:30 am which made for a very cold night with no extra blankets. A giant tree fell on top of our cabin, I have to say it was very frightening, and my husband, nor myself got any sleep that night, not knowing if we were safe in that cabin. In the morning I proceeded to call the front desk and make them aware of the tree that had fallen and asked if they could send someone over to check out the structure of the cabin. I also stated that I felt we should receive some compensation because we basically lost a night due to the fear of what had happened to the cabin not to mention it was freezing cold.. They did state they would give me $100 back which I think was not acceptable considering we paid 300 a night. I waited approximately two hours and a young man came looked up at the cabin and basically told us he knew nothing about structure and trees, but he would try to find someone to look at it. Two hours later someone from a tree service pulled up in the road about 100 yards away from the cabin parked for about 20 seconds and drove away. We never heard from front desk again to let us know if the structure was safe and they left the tree on the cabin all day and the following night. Needless to say, it was not relaxing in any way shape or form and they obviously didn't care how we felt about the situation. I will say they did offer us to move to a cabin across the way but at that point if I had to pack everything up and move, I was going home. We specifically picked Evergreen because it's the cabin we had been staying in for years. They are just lucky that we were not injured because things could have been way worse for Tall Timbers. Let me add there was an eight foot overhang on the metal roof that could have let go at any moment... had to be cautious to stay away from the edge of the building!!!

For a last minute reservation they were amazingly attentive (and we were a bit high maintenance!). They accommodated us at every turn, allowing us a late checkout, and leaving the boat trailer in the parking lot the day we checked out. The restaurant was really good and all of the staff, especially Amber, were especially welcoming and accommodating. The cabin was incredibly comfortable, warm at night, and cozy, especially once we built the fire. We were told our cabin had the nicest bed on the premises, and I believe it!The resort itself is beautiful, and the "cabin chic" is well done and high quality. I would like to go back next year in warmer weather and enjoy the water more.

Contacted via social media for information, where a person helped us get a reservation for the last meal of the winter season. Arrived about 15 minutes early and were relieved to see the pub was open so we ordered a drink while we waited. So happy they could make a frozen mudslide, a drink I haven't had in many years and they made it perfectly! We sat in the waiting area and enjoyed the view of the lake before us. We arrived at our table and was greeted by our server/hostess Katie who was excellent. We reviewed the full menu, and decided to have the two specials for that evening, Prime rib and surf and turf. They have a special steak here that is available for those who want a large portion of meat, The Tomahawk, apparently very popular but too big for me. The bread was warm and the butter very tasty, a special treat. Food arrived timely with good presentation and temperature. Delicious! We had no room for dessert but will visit again and will try to save room.

Motel was booked solid so I went with a campsite this time around and I am so glad I did. Check-in was again a breeze and the staff are just so nice. Having inquired as to my activities in the area, they remembered the details and brought in up in conversation whenever we ran into each other. A nice personal touch. I stayed at campsite #9 "Double Decker" and it was the perfect size for my medium sized tent and large SUV. It came with a fire pit and picnic table. When you first round the bend, the campsites seem squeezed in there but the site itself felt pretty private once I settled in and I was not bothered by the full campground surrounding me. Quiet hours by 10pm made getting rest for my weekend activities easy peasy. As a solo camper, I felt very safe here. The nearby lounge area had a television, kitchen w. oven, range, refrigerator, and freezer, television, electrical outlets, games and more. Toilets and coin-operated showers were on the backside of this building. I don't mind pay showers but wished I got a little bit more time for my first four quarters as I was scrambling to put more in as I rushed through each visit. Bring plenty with you if you like to take your time. Firewood available for purchase (delivered to your campsite!) along with some other staples. Would absolutely stay here again. And again. And again.

Place was so adorable and comfy that my fiance proposed to me here!! Made it even more special. The family that owns it are very sweet and were happy we stayed and congratulated us! :) Can't wait to stay here on our anniversary! :)
