What a wonderful peaceful place! Super clean and wonderful service! Such a gem! Highly recommend for considerate guests! Views of First Connecticut are awesome! read more

The office staff, maintenance and snowmobile tech are all friendly and helpful! The cabins are clean and well stocked with necessities and we got to bring our two large dogs. Had a great stay snowmobiling and enjoy our visit to Gods country. We will return. Note, some cabins are attached by door to 2nd cabin which wasn't an issue for us but just so you are aware. read more

I have stayed at the Lopstick multiple times. Not only is check in and out super fast and easy, everyone who works there is always super nice! Their cabins are always so beautiful and clean. They are super helpful with any questions you may have about the area too. To top it off they are dog friendly which is a huge must for my family!!! They also have a beautiful fishing store right across the street that has everything you'd need for flyfishing. The only place I'll stay when in the area! Thank you for always making our trips amazing (: read more

This is the second time I've stayed with them, a couple different cabins but each time it's been great. They have boats for rent, offer fly fishing lessons and plenty of options for the type of cabin you can rent. It's a great location to "get away" from things, lots of nature, some nice local food choices. It's a bit of a drive from southern NH but worth the trip. read more

We just finished our second stay with Lopstick, and anxious to book our third trip. Love that it is pet friendly so our whole family can get away. We stayed at Stone Fly Cabin both of our trips and it was perfect. Check in and check out was very easy! The staff is very friendly and super responsive if you need anything. We also loved having the option to rent a motor boat, paddle board, or even an ATV. Most relaxing vacation spot ever! read more

We rented 3 cabin for 5 adults and 4 children to go ATV riding, swimming, fishing and kayaking. We had one cabin directly on the lake and two cabins across the street. We set up our kayaks and paddle boards at the dock. The children fished and swam and kayaked every day after riding ATVs 30+ miles per day. The prices were reasonable and the cabins were comfortable. The staff that checked us in and set us up prior to our vacation were very accommodating and overly polite. Our only complaint is that the cabins are quite old and very warm during the summer. And we were hit with a surprise surcharge to clean the hot tub. After check out the office tacked on a $100 cleaning fee for a small four person hot tub. read more

Really professionally-run complex of cabins, standalone houses, and other weekend / extended vacation accommodations. The office staff were superb. Our cabin was also super-clean and they'd gone to the trouble to space the guests in the slow season on a weekday for maximum privacy. The cabin we got for four was a Magalloway, which are a series of double-cabins (one shared wall) facing the lake. Lovely view, and they were spacious. The zone heating from the baseboards didn't quite cover the bedrooms evenly - the thermostat is in the main room - but with a little experimentation we were comfortable on a night when it got below freezing. The bedroom walls were a tiny bit thin, be forewarned if you're coming for an extended stay. But the usual bugaboos of cabin living -- old beds, musty linens/blankets, broken this and that -- were not at all in evidence. And the kitchen was great - even propane gas stove top, which was very good. The cabins have fire pits and grills out front. We got an excellent price for the off-season. Note: WiFi isn't in all cabins as yet, there's no cell reception, and the DISH selections are a little lacking on the old CRT TVs. But you want to unplug up here anyway, right? All in all, warmly recommended and a pleasant find in a lovely little corner off the beaten path. read more

Lopstick is the best place to stay in the north country. The check in and check out process is easy. I have never stayed in one of their cabins that wasn't spotless. The views of first Connecticut lake are incredible. The staff is always friendly and helpful. If you are in to fly fishing they have guides and supplies. I am looking forward to staying in one of their cabins this Winter for a different experience. I met the owners on my last stay and they were really nice and loved my dog. read more

My crew & I rented a guest house on Back Lake for the 2016 Reciprocal snowmobile weekend in January. Our rental was "Starlight Cove". It was clean, roomy, plenty of parking for trucks, trailers, and had easy access to trails & amenities. It's kitchen is huge! It easily let us cook for 10 adults with so many cupboards, a kitchen island and large dining room table. The gear room is super for hanging jackets, helmets, putting away wet boots. We loved the gas fireplace, comfy couches & views. The trails were busy, but the local clubs and businesses really do their best to provide the best experience. I would definitely go back and rent again. read more

First time staying at Lopstick Cabins! WOW, we arrived late on Friday evening 11pm, staff were wonderful left our keys to our cabin for us to check in late! Stayed in Cabin 11, we arrived with 20 people and everyone had a blast! Sled all day long and all gather in one cabin and hung out for the evening hours! Cabins fully stocked for cooking and tv with the dish so we can watch the patriots game! Their plow guy even help pull out one truck that was stuck! Cabins were cleaned and fresh towels every day! We will be back for sure! THANK YOU for the amazing time!! read more

I went here on my honeymoon and it was breathtaking! Me and my husband were so pleased with the staff and how clean everything was. We stayed in the morning view in November and we want to go back next year but it a bit costly. we were not bumping elbows in a hotel lobby. we had complete privacy because these were stand alone cabins. Ours slept 8 but we only used the lofted bedroom which overlooked the mountains. I highly recommend this lovely intimate retreat, also when your there be sure to dine at the Rainbow Grill and visit April's Maple in VT! - Mellisa & James read more

This is our second Christmas visit -- was here 8 years ago, and this visit is just as fabulous as before! Rented Loon Call cabin which as two bedrooms, one bath including a Jacuzzi tub (gratefully have a separate shower), and a lovely gas fireplace which warms you up after a day on the trails. Cabin is well-maintained and has everything you need to make meals. Lopstick has everything you need to go snowmobiling, including snow suits and boots. Unlike places closer to home, you are free to roam the many trails around here rather than being guided. We appreciate the fact that the property is pet-friendly: our three-pack loves being in front of the fire! They even put a lighted tree in our cabin and left a box of ornaments for us! Best part is we don't have to worry about taking down the tree! Thank you to the amazing staff for another fantastic Christmas! read more

I've been coming here for over a decade, usually for fishing. The prices have increased and the product has gotten worse. No more fishing reports, no real updates to the cabins, price and variety of gear in the shop has decreased. The only positive comment that I can make about my most recent stay is about the housekeeping staff, polite and very helpful. I won't be returning to stay at Lopstick, there are too many other reasonably priced options. read more

Some of the cabins are a bit pricey compared to a hotel but the location is a great place to unplug for a weekend trip that you can't get from a hotel. The bathroom in our cabin was a little small making it hard to shower for my husband who is 6'2" but overall it was a good time and the cabins are what you would expect and good for unwinding and spending some family time at back lake. Wifi was iffy in some spots and we didn't even turn on the tv cuz it wasn't needed. The small kitchennets were a great ammenity read more

Went snowmobiling last winter for the 1st time - what a blast!! We rented a double sled right on site at Lopstick. We rode for a few hours then went back to our cabin for lunch before heading back out on the trails. We stayed in "Moose", which was very clean and cozy. The gas fireplace was a nice touch and also helped keep us toasty (it was -6 degrees outside!!!!) The staff are very friendly and informative. The town of Pittsburgh is very backwoods country, but it is perfect for a winter escape and everyone we encountered (locals) were extremely friendly. I hope to get back there sometime in the summer to see 1st Connecticut Lake in all it's glory. While we were there we tried a local restaurant "Buck Rub Pub" which was awesome. I would reccomend Lopstick to anyone who likes to get away up in the North Woods. read more

Been coming here for quite a while, usually in the area for fishing. Under the old ownership the place was usually very decent, a good value. The new ownership just seems more interested in taking your money. Prices on the units have gone up significantly without seemingly much to show for it, and even the fly shop has gone downhill, the prices are ridiculous and the selection on gear and flies not great. The staff, especially housekeeping, are very helpful, which is why I didn't give one star. We won't stay here again, there are far better values in the area, this place is no longer the only game in town. read more

IMMACULATELY CLEAN! The cabins on the lake was exactly what we were looking for. We spent Valentines weekend 2013 at Lopstick and can't wait to go back in the warmer weather. The staff go out of the way to be help! read more

We went up to Pittsburg for an extended snowmobile weekend and stayed at Lopstick. We've stayed with Lopstick for 5 years now, and have never been disappointed. Love love lovvvvve Pittsburg, NH for its many activities, beautiful scenery, and amazing people. Lopstick has super friendly staff, and many different cabins to choose from in a variety of price ranges. They also offer guide services (hunting and fishing) as well as rentals of kayaks, boats, and ATV's. It goes without saying, we'll be back. Edited: I really also wanted to review the Buck Rub Pizza Pub on Rt. 3 in Pittsburg, but unfortunately they're not on Yelp. Great bar/restaurant with the BEST clam chowder.... ever I'd say. We traveled the coast of Maine two years in a row to find something that compared, but no luck. Great staff as well! Always our first and last stop in Pittsburg! read more

LOVE LOVE LOVED our stay at Lopstick! Beautiful Cabin, GREAT Staff, Perfect view of the lakein the morning and Full moon over the lake in the evening - magical! It was quiet, and perfect for family time away! The kids even had fun hiking in the rain to see the waterfall! THAT says something! We can't wait to go back! Hopefully that is sooner than later! read more

Had a lovely time, great views, great trail access, extremely comfy beds! cozy and warm cabins (we stayed in Lakeview), great pricing, (i did a last minute special) fully furnished, sled rentals right there. I would recommend and I would come back again. Also Cheryl was very helpful in getting me a bill to my email after I had left Pittsburg. Thanks again! read more

Spent 3 nights there this July. Very impressed and I don't impress all that easy. Minor things , outside light didn't work, Bulb out on inside lamp also. left it out for 2 days on sofa arm(hint never taken). We had handicapped room. Ramp to steep to be of any use and bathroom mirror to high to be used by short people. But all that Minor, we got by well enough. I would cheerfully return, and wife even suggested doing so. No need to look farther , this is all good . read more
