The place is clean. The price is great. The wifi always works great. They charge by the room and not, like most places around there, based on per person full occupancy. We almost always stay 2 nights on weeknights and the 2 of us get a room with microwave and fridge for under $60/night (that is for the both of us, not each). The McCartney's, the proprietors, are quiet, friendly and provide great service.

This place is super clean!!! The bed was super easy to sleep in. The sheets were like butter and the pillow perfection. Even the towels are plush! A common room for cooking or playing games. Great little hot coffee/tea/chocolate bar. He's even trying to figure out how to get a hot tub installed outback! Seriously recommend staying here when you hit this area of Maine! Great breweries and spots to eat and shop right down the street. Plenty of trails and fun to be had.

I have stayed at the Snowcap Inn a few times, and each time has been decent. Again, the rooms are not flashy, but it's always clean and it does the job of being a reliable, convenient and cheap-er place to stay at the resort. A huge plus is that they are dog friendly! Overall, I would give Snowcap 4 stars, however, I dropped it down one more star because check in is at 4pm on weekday and 5pm on a weekend (never any time before) and check out is 10:30. The check in makes it hard, especially if you have a dog, and want to go skiing that same day, so I wish check in could be earlier than they have. Will I continue to stay here? For sure. Would I recommend to others? Sure, just know what you are getting when staying here.

We rented the house for a family ski getaway with 14 adults and 5 children. The house was spotless when we arrived with music playing softly in the background, fresh popcorn waiting in the kitchen, and sun gleaming on the hardwood floors. There was more than enough room for everyone with beds to spare in the 9 bedrooms. We enjoyed every aspect of the house and every person had a fantastic time. The house was so welcoming, we almost didn't want to leave to go skiing, but with the ski area only five minutes away and premium parking passes, it was easy to go out for a few runs, come home for lunch, and ski again in the afternoon. The kitchen was well stocked with every pot, pan, dish, and glass you could hope for, and the pantry had a nice supply of spices, coffee, and hot cocoa. The beds were comfy, showers are amazing, and the furniture and decor was perfectly selected to match the beauty of the house itself. Gretchen and Kris are responsive hosts. We are so grateful for this house bringing us together to create lasting family memories.
