Knowing I had another 11+ mile hike to complete in the area, I knew exactly where I wanted to stay…read morewhen the opportunity arose. Motel was booked solid so I went with a campsite this time around and I am so glad I did. Check-in was again a breeze and the staff are just so nice. Having inquired as to my activities in the area, they remembered the details and brought in up in conversation whenever we ran into each other. A nice personal touch. I stayed at campsite #9 "Double Decker" and it was the perfect size for my medium sized tent and large SUV. It came with a fire pit and picnic table. When you first round the bend, the campsites seem squeezed in there but the site itself felt pretty private once I settled in and I was not bothered by the full campground surrounding me. Quiet hours by 10pm made getting rest for my weekend activities easy peasy. As a solo camper, I felt very safe here. The nearby lounge area had a television, kitchen w. oven, range, refrigerator, and freezer, television, electrical outlets, games and more. Toilets and coin-operated showers were on the backside of this building. I don't mind pay showers but wished I got a little bit more time for my first four quarters as I was scrambling to put more in as I rushed through each visit. Bring plenty with you if you like to take your time. Firewood available for purchase (delivered to your campsite!) along with some other staples. Would absolutely stay here again. And again. And again.

Great Prices...great rooms!!!…read more We got engaged here!!! Came up for Vaca and stayed over night here until my fiance's family camp renters checked out so we could spend the week there! First impression was great!! Cozy good sized rooms for great prices!! Full kitchen in our room! Bathroom was nice and we had two queen beds!! TV and cable and a beautiful deck. Close to Sugarloaf! Place was so adorable and comfy that my fiance proposed to me here!! Made it even more special. The family that owns it are very sweet and were happy we stayed and congratulated us! :) Can't wait to stay here on our anniversary! :)

What a gem - positively magical place!! I came to the lakes region in search of Moose and Loons so…read moreI made sure to book a room in the Haley Pond Lodge section to be right on the water. And while I still haven't found any moose, I saw my first loons in real life right behind my room AND managed to capture their haunting song on video right from my patio!! This beautiful inn has been around for over 100 years - and the inside of the main lodge is full of antiques and is oozing with Victorian charm - so warm and inviting!! All the staff were just fantastic- caring and eager to help and so friendly - in the lodge and the tavern both. I reserved a water view king room in the Haley Pond Lodge and it was huge!! Lots of shelf space and a huge patio overlooking the pond - just magnificent! The room had a standard coffee maker, microwave and fridge. The bathroom was beautiful and everything was spotlessly clean. Water pressure and temp worked perfectly. The grounds are the best part - there are mallard ducks all over the place. I saw two deer right outside my room when I first arrived. One night I heard a moose bugling (mating call) and it was so loud haha! Shame I never saw him lol. There are tons of species of waterfowl on the pond - I saw Ring-necked Ducks and Mergansers!! And the best part was I saw LOONS!! At first, I found a mated pair right out back from my room - and they were fishing - it was so fantastic! And I saw more out across the pond bathing and preening. The mornings were super foggy which created such an eerie ambiance and the loons were crying their haunting song - oh it was just magical! Breakfast isn't included but is served daily. I didn't try it so can't speak to it but I did have dinner in the tavern one night and it was fabulous. I got the Parmesan crab dip and a tavern salad with grilled salmon - all totally delicious. I visited in late September so the fall foliage was just starting to come in - I can only imagine how gorgeous it is during peak foliage. This is a marvelous place to base yourself out of for wildlife chasing, skiing, summer fun on the lakes - for really any kind of vacation honestly. Haley Pond Lodge is detached from the main inn and set quite a ways back - but the grounds are easily walkable. There's plenty of parking and it's very centrally located in the adorable town of Rangeley. I even walked over to the huge Rangeley Lake a few times bc it's so close - it's especially wonderful at sunset. Prices for food and lodging are reasonable, even during peak seasons. All in all I had a great experience and will most definitely be back - without a doubt!

Alright, so, I struggle with the rating for this hotel because although there are soooo many…read morepositive aspects, there were a few things that put a damper on our trip. Simply put, here are the pros and cons; Pro: beautiful, ski-in/ski-out lodge, direct access to the Sugarloaf village, large hot tub outside that overlooks the mountain, not too unreasonable price wise (not cheap, but you are right on the mountain with amazingly close parking) and charming vibe Cons: the check-in procedure is insane. They won't let you check in until 4pm on the dot. I totally understand if they are still cleaning the rooms, but if the rooms are clean and ready to go, just let people check in at like 2 or 3. During covid, it makes zero sense to have a line of 15-20 parties all waiting to check in at the same time. We had a small baby, and there were also several old people checking in. It just seemed asinine to create a policy that goes completely against all common sense during a global pandemic. Anyway, other cons were; the room was so tiny (which isn't horrible, but there were barely any clothing hooks, shelves or drawers to put stuff in-- and who doesn't have a lot of sh--t when they are on a ski trip!?!) and the housekeeping was pretty invisible (I'm fine with not getting room service during a pandemic, but can you at least pick up my trash and give me some towels!?!). So, obviously the pros outweigh the cons, but, the cons did take away from the comfort of our stay. However, I did have a great stay. If I return, I would just come an hour or two later to check in (if it's during covid), and I'd splurge for a larger room.

I usually never take time out to review a resort. But this resort, the staff went all out and was…read moreso friendly, personable and approachable that I felt compelled to write a review to acknowledge their customer service, the overall experience and the way the resort felt when we were there during our recent vacation in end of June to July 4th (6/27/25-7/4/25) Front staff Jay (3pm to 11pm shift) was great. Very friendly and had lots of recommendations of place to visit around the surrounding area of Newry, Maine. Always approachable via text message and always knew my name and called me by name when he saw me. The activities the resort put out in the lounge for the kids was also the best I have seen in the many timeshare resorts I been to. Thumbs up to the resort and team for thinking about the kids. Greg (11pm to 7am overnight shift) was extremely friendly and helpful , the first night we checked in as we got there at 3am after (15 hour) drive from NYC to Newry. On our second to last night my daughter saw a teddy bear at their mini gift shop and since my daughter refuse to part with it, Greg was so nice to buy it for her. The gesture touched my heart and may our trip extra special. Unfortunately we didn't know their summer season begins after July 4th. Most resorts the season begins after Memorial Day. But I guess, not here. So we were 1 week too early which meant most activities didn't start yet. But on the flip side, we had the resort all to ourselves and also the undivided attention of all the staff. Greg said the staff works between Sunday river and the other two resorts. The Grand Summit lodge and our resort - The Jordan. We went to visit the other two resorts and the golf course on our last few days and we loved the decor and feel of our resort more. It was more modern and sophisticated, also bigger. The sister resort looked older and less expensive in comparison. The room we got check into on the first night was a studio deluxe and it had problems. The closet door was broken and we didn't know it was a Murphy bed with a sofa bed. So we called front desk regarding a room upgrade. The staff in the morning Gary, saw the notes left by Greg and we were allowed to upgrade (on the house) to a bigger unit - two floors with two bedrooms, a sunroof, balcony and two private full size bathrooms with loft upstairs bedroom and a master bedroom with full living room and full kitchen. It was a surprise and well received upgrade on the house. We loved it to say the least. We didn't have our housekeeper do much except to change the towels and take out the garbage. I guess they must had been happy. They were friendly and gave my daughter rubber ducky and bubble bath soap. On second to last day another housekeeping staff got my daughter crayon, coloring pages and candy. Their mascot Eddy and Betty the yetis are quite adorable. And it's an ongoing theme throughout the resort. They are trying to make this resort an all season resort. But you can tell they are mostly ski and winter snow season resort and best time to come is during the ski season. Probably most popular time too. Our check out was July 4th, but we stayed nearby for the firework show at Gotham, NH. As the resort prepared for Independence Day they put out a lot of treats and glow sticks as well as stickers and candy. Which was a nice surprise. The resort also has grills that allow guest to use any times. We grilled! Also had a pool and hot tub ... too bad the hours were so restrictive and close early that we only got to use it for 10 mins on one of our days. Lastly the gym was open longer, and guest can use it whenever. Making s'mores on the fire pit seems like a big thing in Newry and in the neighboring town. So we did that activity twice. It was fun! The resort provided all the supplies. Personally, I love the feel of this resort and highly recommend them. If it wasn't such a far drive, I would go more often. Maybe in the future will try to go here for ski season.
