Had been looking online over the last week for a Maine B&B for my daughter & I to stay at while she's up visiting the end of Aug. Yesterday I decided around noon to take a spur of the moment drive to the White Mountains. After getting to Conway NH, I GPS'd the HHH just to see how far it was. I could be there by around 5p...perfect (!!!), except that I didn't have anything packed. Didn't matter...I'd make due & stop at Rite Aid for essentials. When I called to see if a room was available, Nancy placed me in The Loon Room. The drive up Rt 17 was beautiful & finding the B&B situated high above Rangeley Lake tucked into the mountain was seamless. From start to finish my overnight was wonderful! All 3 rooms & the one large suite have unobstructed lake views. The Bear Room & the Moose Suite are on the 2nd floor, the Loon Room (closest to the main living areas) and the Trout Room (more private, also has 2 windows b/c it's at the corner of the cabin) are on the 1st floor. The basement level is The Sailor's Rest area with game tables, books, sitting areas & a bar with walk out onto the backyard. I was impressed by the fresh clean smell walking in...you could just tell everything was immaculately kept. The common areas were spacious but still cozy, having a log cabin feel. Candles were lit in the fireplace, soothing Pandora music filled the air & both the lower & upper levels had their own coffee, refrigerator, snack stations. Delicious chocolate chip cookies were waiting for my arrival. Later that evening after returning from dinner a large homemade blueberry muffin was my midnight snack, which I ate before 9p! I've stayed at many B&B/Hotels & the HHH's sheets are by far the very best you will ever sleep on. They are 1500 COUNT COTTON SHEETS that feel like silk! Laying in bed with the windows open, I enjoyed the cool breeze, moon shining through the picture-window & hearing the loons off in the distance...PRICELESS! The bathroom's are rustic/spa-like. The oversized walk-in rain shower made it very hard to want to conserve water! I'd like to say I did, but I didn't! I chose to have breakfast (see pics) on the large deck overlooking the lake, listening to the birds & watching the boaters skim the water. Everything was beautifully presented, hot, delicious & filling! Just a note, depending on your cell carrier, reception for Sprint at times is sketchy so it's probably a good idea to make sure your family has the owner's numbers in case of emergency. They are posted in the information notebook located in each room. I could keep going on & on, but what you really want to know is, "Should you book a room?". YES! If you are planning a stay in Rangeley, or nearby Eustis/Stratton areas, this is the place you'll want to be. Million $$$ views & gracious hospitality on a small budget!
