Food was great service was great. Sandy (was friendly and sweet). Easy to talk to. Didn't care for the cat sitting on one of the tables..... but that's cats! Service was quick. And food was good. French onion soup was good but not what I'm used to.... It was a bit thick and on the sweet side, but it was good. read more

Five stars! I got stuck in Eustis/Stratton for two nights because of a blizzard and I have to say that I would surely return even if I wasn't stranded. The rooms are warm, cozy, and clean. Sandy, who was working the bar when I first arrived was kind, sweet, and accommodating. I left that morning to try to get to Canada but had to turn around. Sandy was prompt with her responses and had me back in a room ASAP. Would recommend to anyone. read more

What friendly service in this funky restaurant cum inn. Extensive dinner and dessert specials on the chalkboard. Seems to be able to meet everyone's needs. Had the trout and cabbage, damn it was good. Some of the Beers are 2.75! That's crazy. Ordered a seltzer that came in about a half gallon size glass. Would definitely return and recommend. read more

A little off the beaten path but worth the trip if you're in the area. My family has been coming here for years during our ski trips to Sugarloaf. It's about a 10 min drive past the mountain and offers vast food choices. It is nothing fancy but that is what makes it so great. The old school flat top miss pac man game has been here as long as I can remember. There is a large bar area with booths and a separate dining area. The service is always friendly and quick. I stayed here a few years ago for a last minute ski trip. The price could not be beat. I think it was like $70 a night or something ridiculous. Small no frills room but very clean and had everything you would need. read more

I had dinner at the White Wolf Inn three times during a week in Stratton. The food is carefully prepared, and quite good. One night I had the venison tips appetizer and ordered the day's veggie and mashed potato. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the veggie was baby beet greens. The mashed potatoes were excellent. The venison tips were served in a gravy with mushrooms and onions, and were served medium-rare, as ordered. Another night, after a long day of hiking, I tried the Wolf Burger. This is an 8 oz burger with bacon, sausage and cheese - more meat than I eat in a week. Note that there is an extra charge for toppings like lettuce/tomato/onion. The accompanying French fries were also very good. My third dinner there was a turkey club. The menu said that it was served on home-made bread, and that is true. A very good club accompanied with very good fries. To make it healthy, I also ordered a garden salad, which had a good selection of greens, celery, peppers tomato, etc. Not a crappy iceberg-and-slice-of-tomato salad at all. They have a good selection of beers, both on tap and in bottles and a full bar. I also saw some desserts go by. They looked very good. The food at the White Wolf Inn is quite good. It may be the best in town. I say *may* because I did not have a chance to try the new Coplin Dinner house. I suspect that White Wolf Inn is the better value. Because of this, they are often quite busy and one must wait quite a long time before your food is ready. A large party puts the kitchen "in the weeds'. There were large parties two of the three nights I ate there, so I'd expect them to be better prepared. The front of the house is running pretty lean, with Sandy (the owner) and another server. This makes service a bit slow, and the servers seem stressed. They are also missing the opportunity to offer drink refills, etc., so it does not seem like the best of situations. So if you are in a hurry, you may want to go elsewhere, but the options are very limited and the food is not as good. Or you can order a find local beer and soak the place in. read more

My family and I ate here twice recently. I managed to eat the Wolf Burger and got my T-shirt for doing so. This is a good place to go if your looking for a local place to sit down and have suppah! Some specials are over done with odd combinations of flavor. The simpler menu items are the better choice! Everything is very reasonably priced! read more

Get. The. Wolf Burger. Gigantic beef patty with a layer of sausage, bacon, mushrooms, mayonnaise, mustard, and ketchup. And it even comes with a little flag in it triumphantly stating, "I CONQUERED THE WOLF BURGER." Delicious food, nice bar staff, and the rates for rooms here are very decent! Rooms are clean and tidy and the housekeeper is an intensely friendly lady! Highly recommend eating and/or staying here if you're passing through Stratton. read more

Being one of the few restaurants in town will likely ensure you'll come here if you stay for more than a day. The menu had a good selection of items and had daily specials. While I wasn't particularly impressed with the food, I appreciated having a wider selection than just the typical pub food I expected. I had haddock with cream sauce with fries and green beans. I didn't care for the cream sauce and the fish is general wasn't flavorful but I did enjoy the fries and beans. I wish they could've served more fries and green beans than what I had but the dish was I think $12 or $13 so I was satisfied with the meal. They also had some decent beers on tap. read more

After arriving around 6pm in Stratton, we were feeling pretty hungry. Apparently, most of the local restaurants close at 2pm so we had very few choices when we decided to give White Wolf Inn a try. Boy, were we pleasantly surprised! The food was more than satisfactory. The salad had real and assorted vegetables, none of that iceberg lettuce BS. And any place that has sweet potato fries is a winner in my book. We even went back the next night! There was a generous selection of sandwiches, burgers, and fried foods (for people who would like cheaper, lighter fare) while also having a selection of more substantial (and reasonably priced) entrees. They had an array of tasty appetizers and soups, and inventive things like fried fiddleheads. We didn't get a chance to try them but the seafood chowder was out of this world! To be quite honest, it was the desserts that put it over the top. They had an amazing sopapilla cheesecake that I couldn't get enough of! Overall, two thumbs up! read more

Stopped in on our tour of Maine on the bike. Very good drink selection. We had the buffalo burger and highlander burger (grass fed, no GMOs.) Our server was very nice and the food was excellent. A great place to stop, so glad we happened upon this little gem. read more

For skiing on the cheap, this hotel can't be beat. Not only is it cheap - but it is clean and in a great location. All of those attributes are extremely hard to come by in the skiing world. Don't expect more than that though - this is not a luxury resort. It is close to Sugarloaf (less than 10 minutes) and a little bit further from Saddleback (~30 minutes), perfect for a ski weekend. It is conveniently located among a few restaurants, a convenience store, a grocery store and a bar all within 500ft of each other - so there is plenty to eat/drink when you get back to your room. I'm giving the White Wolf 5-stars because of its rare combination of attributes: cost, location, cleanliness and friendliness. I'm not giving it 5-stars for luxury and spacious accommodations. P.S. The restaurant downstairs is great! read more

Been here before and really liked it. Stopped in for a late lunch today. Service was slow even though they weren't busy. Not a single salad on the menu...Ordered a plain burger w/lettuce & tomato and a side of mayo. Burger was 3" in diameter, pretty tough and chewy with one piece of lettuce and a thin piece of tomato. Had a side of cole slaw which was ok. Not very flavorful. Took at least 10 minutes standing at the counter to pay. Bad experience all around. Won't hurry back. read more

We had dinner here after a day of mountain biking at Sugarloaf. Nice draft selection, though not huge. The bar area has a nice big TV to watch sports and comfortable tables/benches. Great fresh bread/honey butter to start. Pizza was OK, lots of chesse & toppings, not the greatest, but good. Easy going place, great service, and prices were reasonable. read more

Rooms are good & clean. The food in restaurant was awful. We were there late and that maybe why. We won't eat there again
