I wasn't a believer in spending good money on a bike fit until my friend recommended me that I come here. I had my first fit here in 2015 with Bryan Lund and it made all the difference in the world! I just came back recently to have Jim fit me on my new bike as shown in the picture, and everything feels amazing. I thought that it's not typical to be both aero and comfortable, but we were able to find a way for me to have both. The depth of knowledge that Jim has reminds me that he's the best in the business. In my numerous follow ups here, I always come away with a few tips that I wouldn't have known just by looking on the internet. If most triathletes are willing to spend hundreds on races, thousands on equipment and travel, it's a no brainer to me now to be dialed in perfectly on your bike fit. For those struggling to hold aero, this place is a must visit.

Finally I get a bike fit! I took so long because of the amount of $ you have to spend with a newborn, I just can't give my money to anyone. I'd definitely recommend Jim! Such a cool dude, he's definitely out to get you dialed in, and not after your wallet. Even if you don't know what some of the numbers mean, he goes through with explaining them so you understand why he is doing what he is doing. That's important, even if your a person who doesn't care about numbers, because the level of detail in a bike fit is what your paying for. With so much experience under his belt, you will see the value, and notice the difference on your next ride. Heck, if you have any questions, message me and I'll let you know what's up, because I did research on many different bike fitters between Lakewood-Irvine. -Just one grateful dude, Julio Barajas

I've been coming here for years, and I ALWAYS get excellent service. My bike is one of the last gifts I received from my dad before he passed, so I don't trust just anyone with my bike. This shop goes above and beyond. During today's service, my bike's gears were fixed properly, so now I'll have a smoother ride. The owners also took the time to show me bike lights and even placed the lights on my bike for me after changing the batteries on the dead light. I decided to buy a rechargeable light for future convenience and added safety. I was shown several options and picked an affordable set (front and rear lights). At the end, one of the owners even helped me get the bike back into my car. I'll come here for my next bike purchase, for sure! They have some affordable e-bikes I had my eyes on. I'm very happy with the service and hope this shop remains in Carson for many more years to come!

After waiting two weeks, I received a text saying the bike was ready and that the total would be $89.99, including parts and labor. When I arrived to pick up the bike, I was told the price would actually remain $120 because they had to order "special oil." I was confused since their text clearly stated $89.99 including parts and labor. I also mentioned that I appeared to have been double-charged and tried to show the owner the charge on his phone. He refused to look, checked his computer, and said it showed only one charge and told me to contact my credit card company. Later that day, my son rode his bike and came home after about an hour saying his rear brake wasn't working. He had to slam on his front brake to stop and ended up crashing. He came home with a bruised and scraped knee and a sprained wrist that now requires him to wear a brace for a month. I immediately called the shop and was told to bring the bike back in. The owner said the issue was a "glazed rotor" and that we needed a new rotor. I declined the additional service. What's concerning is that the bike was returned to us with a rear brake that did not function properly. Instead of taking responsibility, the owner accused my son of doing wheelies, which is simply not the case. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. The pricing was inconsistent, concerns about billing were dismissed, and most importantly, the bike was returned in an unsafe condition. I would strongly recommend others double-check their work before riding

At first, I perused the local Craigslist for one that met my size, price, and rim brake criteria -- I own both rim and disc brake bikes, just prefer the former. Anyway, while I could find a few the weeks I looked, always a tad skeptical when going the private route that had a buyer-beware vibe that kept me from pulling the trigger. Just so happened that BBG put some of its bikes on CL the last time I looked, so went to their website and looked for some reviews. This led me to their Yelp listing and Miki W's 5-star review from about a year ago. Great, and their website had an all purchases "...30-day money back guarantee." So, I contacted Pedro about my two candidates. While one had already sold online, the other was still available and stopped by on a Sunday when he'd be at the shop. Long story short, it was a 2012 carbon bike from a known manufacturer in excellent shape at a good price, so it was bought. A 5-star experience to this point. Even told Pedro so, noting the worries associated with Craigslist, and his 30-day guarantee. Interestingly, after hearing my relief with the guarantee, he said, yes, if you need "...any adjustment to the bike in the next 30 days", just contact him. Hmm... first concern arose since money back wasn't mentioned. Still, my test ride felt really good, so no worries, I told myself. The very next day, after further evaluating the tires and deciding to replace them, looked more closely at the bike's alloy wheels that came with it. They were older black Sunrims CR18 wheels (36-spoke), which seemed out of place with this era of carbon bikes. Going online, found the original wheelset spec for this model: Oval 330 aero alloy, 30mm rims, DT Swiss Champion spokes 20/24H Hmm... second concern; a lesser wheelset had been switched out. so, I texted Pedro about this. Loved the bike, but sought wheels closer to the bike's spec, if something could be worked out. After about an hour, Pedro responded and said he didn't have anything in the shop, but to wait a week and he'd "...get something nice for you for sure." That seemed reasonable and I texted back to say I could wait a week... no problem. That's when things took a downturn. So, eight days after the purchase, I texted back midday to see if Pedro had found a better wheelset. No reply. Hmm... I'm sure he's quite busy with his bike shop sale business, so gave Pedro a couple of days. This time, though, I called the phone number of the shop I initially used to connect with him. Now, after many rings, voicemail. So, I left my name, phone number, and a clear message of why I was calling. That was a week and a half ago, and still no reply. So, my initial reaction to the bike and sale, 5-stars. Two-star ratings drop for the response, or lack of one, for seeking better wheels, which I was willing to pay to upgrade, if something better was found, and lack of customer support for my concerns. Your mileage may vary, and I would only hope it would be better than mine. With the hope you wouldn't be ghosted like I had been for seeking a better component, or if you (God forbid) ever needed a refund.

It was a pretty simple job that I assumed wouldn't take long. At first, they asked me to leave the bike overnight, but after explaining my situation, they decided to help me out, which I genuinely appreciated. The staff member was friendly and helpful, and the work was completed when I came back. That said, I was a bit surprised by the overall experience. For $40, I expected a little more clarity and consistency. When I asked about labor pricing, I was told they charge different prices for different things, which felt a little unusual and unclear to me. Also, while I understand I didn't specifically request sealant for the front tire, I just assumed it would be part of the service since the rear tire was being handled. In hindsight, that may have been my expectation, but it still felt like something that could have been communicated more clearly. On top of that, the pricing just felt high for the amount of work done, especially given how quick the job likely was. It gave me the impression that I was charged a bit more due to the timing and urgency of the request. Overall, I appreciated the willingness to help me out last minute and the friendly service, but between the pricing and lack of clarity, it left me with mixed feelings. I probably wouldn't return based on this experience.
