Dang good.

The best BBQ if had in several years! Excellent! Brisket Plate Ribs Mac & Cheese Fries

2 meat plate jalapeño sausage , brisket, fries, and Mac n cheese

Stopped by an award winning bbq joint in greenville. First impressions was, this is oretty country, which I think is a good thing. There was at the time we got there, there was not table seating. They have seating like when you were at school with a small desk type table. The ribs were a bit tough and I felt like they needed bbq sauce to be good. I thought the brisket was amazing though, it was nice and tender , with the right amount seasoni and the bark was fantastic. The jalenpeno sausage had no heat but it was tasty the cheese was a bit much and kind of overpowered it. The fries were tasty would say about the same quality as a five guys. The Mac n cheese I thought was also good, I loved a good cheese crust on the top and middle and they accomplished that. Overall, I would give this spot an 8.3 out of 10.

Chopped Beef with added pickles and jalapeños - Good

Stopped here with two other coworkers for lunch. One ordered a frito pie which was extremely small. He was very disappointed. Another had a pulled pork sandwich which he said was good. I had a chopped beef sandwich, which was good. As a self proclaimed bbq judge, and 100% Texan, I would say this bbq was good.

Ribs and moist brisket, Cole slaw and potato salad

Delicious, finger-licking good! Fantastic ribs and moist brisket, pulled pork, Cole slaw and potato salad. On Saturdays, they have stuffed jalapenos. I haven't had them, yet, but they're on my list for our next visit. Check out this local favorite BBQ, established 1948. Every time I'm in Greenville and have time for lunch, this is the place I visit. Highly recommended!

Brisket with two slices of bread, baked beans and Mac and cheese. Get the baked beans, so comforting.

Pshhh - who needs fancy Dallas BBQ when you've got Ernie's! Their brisket is so moist and thick cut. I stopped by and picked up a brisket plate, which comes with two sides of your choice. The Mac and cheese noodles don't have integrity to them and are mushy, the cheese solidfies into a sweaty block. The baked beans are wonderful and flavorful, I want to just get a bowl on a cold day to warm up with. The brisket plate comes with three thick cut slices of brisket and two slices of buttery bread. I wish the bread would be unlimited, as I personally can not fit three slices of brisket into two slices of bread. All the BBQ fixings are in the back. The venue has quite a bit of history attached to it, and houses memorabilia from the area. They also provide pecan pie and stuffed jalapenos on certain days of the week. An awesome place to get authentic Texas style BBQ, without waiting for hours.

The line.

Drive by this place all the time and I finally stopped in to give it a try. I had the turkey and the sausage and it was awesome.

Great bbq, for a reasonable price. The portions were huge, or maybe I'm just getting old. Loved the family friendly atmosphere.

Nice small BBQ place with ice cream area, sandwiches ribs and fresh fried pies! Delicious I stop…read moreevery time I'm in the area!

In the Greenville tx area on business then heading back to Dallas. Traffic came to a full stop…read more So,I decided to take the next exit and have a BBQ sandwich at Bakers Ribs. They've been around long before the current BBQ craze. I used to eat at their Dallas Location back in the 1990s but, haven't been in 25 years. After fighting major construction congestion and stop and go detours,I finally pulled into the pot holed, gravel parking lot in front of the red 1980ish red metal building that is Bakers Ribs . I was also in search of The Original Fried Pie Company which happened to share space . Entering I found what I expected. Well worn old school roadside Texas BBQ place, just getting by . As with almost everyone else, they've upgraded to a thin screen digital overhead menu. I hate those things because they have no soul...yada,yada,yada I ordered the chopped beef sandwich and waited about five minutes for the few in front of me to gradually get their order filled by the one person, chopping meat, frying fries and filling orders . The vibe is worn out ,we tried western kitch decor in 1980. That's ok but, this is a sad little place that's seen its better day. Regressing slightly. When I first entered a case of various fried pies was the first thing I came to. More on that later . Pouring myself a unsweetened ice tea,I sat down to hopefully enjoy my sandwich. It was better than I expected, and after doctoring it up with onions, jalapeno, pickles and sauce,it passed my test, barely. I wish them well but,I probably won't go back. The owners need to either recomit to increasing the quality of their food and service or? Now to the fried pies. Yumalicious! I bought 6 at $3 75 each. 2 Cherry,2 Apple,2 Peach. I put three in the freezer and left the others out for consumption. Wow. Warmed up under the broiler and served alongside BlueBell Vanilla, niezzzz! Overall my experience was a whiff of the past. That going, going, gone place on the side of the highway that's just good enough to keep you going ,to the next detour.
