What an inspirational cocktail lounge! The decor, and wooden-slatted walls are beautiful, it's quiet and comfortable. The bartender and staff are friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. I really don't know why people hype this place up. I went with some co workers. Ordered the fish and chips but they were soggy. Gross. Overall bad. The atmosphere is super cute but small so you're dining with the people next to you. The drinks were actually really good. The variety they have is truly exceptional. The kumbucha beer they have was something I'd go back for. I don't like kumbucha at all but they made it delicious. So I suggest coming here for drinks not really for the food. My partner and I have been to several establishments on 4th Ave., but finally made a stop at Ermanos on a weekday evening. A sign advised us to seat ourselves, and Courtney promptly brought us waters and menus. She asked if we wanted any other beverages, and we asked for time to look over the menu. Within a few minutes, Colin stopped by to take our order. I selected Firesteed Pinot Noir as my beverage, and my partner selected the Hahn Cabernet Sauvignon. We choose the pickled fried cauliflower for our appetizer, the vegan burger as my entree, and the jackfruit torta for my partner. The wines and cauliflower came out quickly. After tasting my wine, I was sad with my choice. When Colin came by to check on us, he asked about our wines, and I said mine was "meh." That's not OK for Ermanos. He said he'd remove the charge for the Firesteed from our bill and asked if he could bring me a different one to try. Wow - of course. The 10 Span he selected was much more to my liking. Before long, our entrees were out. The vegan burger made of roasted beets, mushrooms, tofu, farro, and miso was quite tasty. I liked the crispy outside, which so many other places miss for a vegan burger. My partner enjoyed his jackfruit torta that was accompanied with some nice, spicy jalapenos. Colin was behind the bar helping customers when our food arrived, but Courtney stopped by after a minute or two to check on us. We were so happy with our meals that we decided to go for it on dessert. I got the chocolate torte, and my partner got the apple crisp. Both were heaven. It took several minutes to get waited on even though the bar was mostly empty on a Monday during Happy Hour. When we finally got our drinks, thing went somewhat more smoothly. As I said, it was almost empty so the vibe was really quiet. The wait staff spent most of their time goofing around with each other as there was no business. We ordered the nachos and while they took forever to come out, they were worth the wait. These weren't your average bar nachos. Nicely prepared and very tasty. I saw a friend post their charcuterie board to their Instagram stories and just HAD to have it. It looked so delicious. So that week, my husband and I went down to 4th Ave to try it out. We ended up doing a bunch of small plates, trying out the charcuterie board, brussel sprouts and bacon, and ceviche. The charcuterie board was so worth the trip down there. If you're like me and go through phases where you crave meat and cheese boards, Ermanos' is great! It came with this jalapeno jam that was sweet, spicy, and delicious. We weren't too big of a fan of the ceviche, but I was not surprised by this. This isn't exactly the place you go if that's what you're craving. The serving size was a good portion, but they put mango into their ceviche so it was too sweet for me. I love mango, but not in ceviche really. They also have a great selection of beers if you're someone who likes to try out different kinds of craft brews. They sat us outside on their back patio, which was perfect. Checked in at Ermanos and they told us 20-30 minute wait, and they would text us. There were a few shops around we popped into and they texted us in less than 20. We were seated outside, and they pulled over a heat lamp which kept us pretty warm. We opted for 3 appetizers (between the 2 of us). Buffalo cauliflower was yummy. I've been to Ermanos twice now while in Tucson. Fantastic beer and wine list, for sure. Reasonably priced beer flights with lots of selection. I like the location on 4th and parking has not been a challenge for me yet across the street (although both visits were during the day). The interior of the restaurant gives off a good vibe. Both times I have had nachos. They were totally delicious and sizable enough for 3-4 people to enjoy, but on both occasions, they were room temp by the time they made their way to our table. I figured the first time was a fluke but then they were just room temp on the second visit as well. The restaurant was not busy on either day I was there, so perhaps they need to do a better job of expediting. In general, service was mediocre both times I was there (once at bar with a small group and once at a table). That said, I like the place and will return. Looking forward to trying a few more menu items. Better expediting and generally more attentive service on my next visit will definitely bump this up to 4 stars. read more

This used to be a favorite for dinner or just an appetizer. We went last week and the food was ok but not great, like their hearts were no longer in it. Tonight was awful. The menu has changed completely. We asked the waitress why and she said the chef had moved to NYC to open his own restaurant. New chef, new menu. It was not good. Fish tacos, birria tacos, nachos. Everyone has boring fish and birria tacos. We don't need more of those in Tucson. Geez. No sandwiches (their lobster roll was divine as was their turkey and havarti and they used to have 2 great burgers), 2 boring salads and some weird cabbage dish. Seriously? We had nachos which were bad. Chips were yellow. Not sure what they were made from but bright yellow! The toppings were weird (maybe all vegys?) with way too much crema dumped on top. How do you mess up nachos? We also had birria tacos which were tiny and ok and the sweet potato fries which had 5 on the plate. We were so disappointed, we won't go back. I know crafting a cocktail takes time, yet this still seemed excessive. Also excessive was the amount of time between check-ins from our server. She would go between the front bar and the back bar often, passing us without stopping by unless flagged down. This included when we wanted to order our meal, a second round of drinks, requesting salt, and our check. Our dirty dishes sat on our table throughout. The food was fine. I had the lobster roll, which was chock full of claw meat. The bun fell apart after my third bite, but I kept on truckin' with my fork. My partner had the cubano, which looked wonderful. This weekend - after fighting the downtown traffic, paying for parking & finally getting to the restaurant with my family, we were sadly informed that THEY DO NOT HAVE HIGH CHAIRS. So, unfortunately my family couldn't stay to enjoy dinner. This seems like a very basic thing - own a couple of high chairs so you don't turn away families with little ones. (Yes, I am aware the word "bar" is in the name. But, if you've ever been, you'll know that most seating is traditional low-top & the overwhelming majority of patrons were sitting & having dinner- typical restaurant experience). Ermanos has quickly become our go to for late night business meetings, lunch dates, taco Tuesdays and for all the delicious food!! They make a mean michelada!! I absolutely have to place an order for their fries and their elote with chicken appetizer every time I'm there!! It's literally addicting and I crave it about once a week!! They also have drink specials, food specials with the best quality ingredients and it shows through in their flavor!! The owner is also a great person!!
