Butternut Squash Soup
Fiona W.

Stopped by during a road trip. Quick refreshing meal. I ordered the 1/2 Sandwich Combo with the Butternut Squash Soup and Ciao Down Sandwich. The soup was really good. The sandwich was decent but bread wasn't that fresh and flavors weren't anything special. I wish to give them a 3.5 since they gave us two extra pickles which was really awesome.

Friendly worker with all the soups!

I stopped in recently after a number of years since my last visit. We wanted something quick so not sit down but I hate fast food so that was our. I remembered these sandwiches were pretty delicious. Also, they have several soups at all times and I LOVE soup. Well, friends, they are still delicious! I was greeted as soon as I walked in and asked if I was in to pick up an order. Several people picked up call ahead orders while I was there so that's apparently a popular option. I ordered the pilgrim's progress, a raging bull, two cups of clam chowder and an unsweetened tea. The sandwiches had lots of meat, huge chunks of avocado (that didn't come out the ends of the bread), sooo much goodness packed in them. The clam chowder was just ok. I wish I would have gotten one of them as butternut squash soup. Oh well, next time. They also have big delicious salads which I would have opted for if I wasn't eating in the car. The location is very clean, including the bathroom. Highly recommend Erik's Deli in Salinas!

Veggie soup in sour dough bread

I had their sourdough veggie soup and it was yummy, the only thing I wish that they gave more soup, the sour dough was huge and soup was very little. Overall it's great

Great sandwich! Stopped by for a light lunch with the hubby when we were visiting family in Salinas last week. My brother in law and sister in law usually split a sandwich and that sounded like a great idea since we wanted to have a seafood dinner in Monterey that evening. We decided on the REO Speedwagon...ham, turkey and jack. It had some kind of "secret sauce" that was really good. I wasn't expecting it to have sprouts on it, but the others gladly added them to their sandwiches. The hubby and I each had a bag of chips and a drink. A very satisfying lunch for two for less than $20! My BIL said Eric's had multiple locations in the area. Very good lunch! I would definitely stop by again when we're in Salinas. Friendly service, too!

Pot Belly Sandwich. Yum.

I work right down the street so Erik's is usually my go to for a healthy and filling sandwich on the daily. I always get a half sandwich and it's a great price for $5. I always order through the app and I arrive just in time for my lunch to pick it up and the employees already even know me by name. I have tried almost every sandwich on the menu excluding the Reo Speedwagon. My favorites are definitely The Raging Bull, Chicken Durango, Pot Belly, and Abbott's habit. I love me a warm and toasty satisfying sandwich. I have yet to be disappointed. Employees are also managing to keep up the tremendous customer service during this pandemic and I praise them for it. Keep it up guys!

Farmer's Market Sandwich

Favorite stop along the 101 whenever we go to the beach. I always get the Farmers Market - the most delicious veggie imaginable: on whole wheat bread with sunflower seeds everything fresh! Avocado, red bell pepper, mushrooms, alfalfa sprouts, pickles, red onion, romaine lettuce. They use a nice light avocado dressing. It's a sandwich I want every single time I see an Erik's!!!

Who wants some Mold with their sandwich? YUMMY Seriously, how do you not notice your cheese is bad when the sandwich was being made????

Pilgrim's Progress Sandwich
Jose O.

Went here on a drive up the 101 and I have say I was pleasantly surprised. Bears the heck out of the other day for options, plus the sandwiches were super affordable. I got the Pilgrim's Progress sandwich with turkey and all the fixins. That sandwich was really yummy! When I'm back in Salinas, I'm definitely coming back here!

9.5/10 Absolutely…read moreamazing, hands down the best Thai food in Salinas! We ordered the Pad Thai, Panang Curry, and Nam Sai, and every dish hit in its own way. Starting with the Pad Thai, we ordered it with beef and it was easily the star of the meal. Perfectly cooked soft noodles with a savory, slightly sweet sauce that was incredibly well balanced. The beef was tender and flavorful, and the addition of diced nuts added a great crunch and texture that tied everything together beautifully. The Panang Curry was also excellent. Rich, creamy, and full of flavor. It came with chicken, green beans, and bell peppers, all of which tasted fresh and perfectly cooked with a nice bite. The curry sauce was smooth and comforting, soaking into the dish incredibly well. A must-order for curry lovers. Lastly, the Nam Sai reminded us a lot of pho. On its own, it was a bit light and lacked salt, but once we added our own seasonings, it really came alive. After adjusting it to taste, it was delicious, comforting, and perfect for warming up. Service was fast and efficient, and the restaurant was clean and well kept. The ambiance was beautiful. A very nice, welcoming spot to enjoy a meal.

We've eaten here multiple times, but this time left disappointed…read more. We were sat quickly and given menus, but took our waiter quite some time to come get orders which included drinks/order together. I was in the mood for soup and had their Tom Kha a few times so originally thought about ordering that, but decided to try their Tiew Tom Yum. Mistake. My guy ordered the pork Pad Thai, and we also shared a Thai fried rice. We ordered tea, but the waiter forgot the sugar caddy we requested and didnt see him until the food arrived about 20 or so minutes later. We had some requests for side items, etc and he brought everything immediately, but didnt come back to check on us until quite some time where I had almost decided my fate of struggling through my horrible soup. It was the most sour of sour soups I've ever had. Neither one of liked it. When the waiter came around and asked about our meals expressed how much I didn't care for it, and the sour was off putting. He offered the coconut soup, which I believed was Tom Kha. When the soup was dropped off I asked for a to go container as we were done with the rest of our meals almost at that point. Again, that soup came out with an overwhelming sour flavor. Thankfully the Thai rice was delicious, so I ate the rest of that. We didnt see our server again until we were standing up ready to walk up to the front as he was the only server running around, and had one table in the place. I brought up the fact that that soup did not taste like Tom Kha, was it a different version of coconut soup? He asked the cook and she said was the same as Tom Kha. At this point we were tired and decided to go, deciding not to come back for soup ever again. Possibly, not to return in general as were irritated. Our server wasn't horrible, was very polite and was running around, however as so many servers tend to do had a one track mind only focusing on one table at a time instead of circulating his section. As a patron I don't feel like you should ever wait so long to get the check and cash out or not be checked in on more frequently.

Called in last minute to make reservation, was so nice to get the table ready for me within 40…read moreminutes for 7 people. Ordered pho, shaking beef, banh xeo, and others that I could not remember. Their pho was good, big portion and full of meat. Unfortunately the sirloin was overcooked and the other parts of the meat have too much fats in them, so it was down on the score. Their shaking beef was also meh, very thin and overly sweet, probably not their strongest dish. Banh xeo was full of meat and fillings, but not particularly crispy. All in all, it was tasty but only lacking a bit here and there. Their service was pretty good though. Their restaurants are also huge, which is a plus.

I was a big fan of this place when it first opened and used to rave about their pho. Unfortunately,…read moremy visit on 5/2 was a huge letdown. From the moment I walked in, the service began with a bad start. The staff were chatting and joking behind the counter and too distracted to notice me. I had to grab a menu myself and ask in a loud tone if I could sit anywhere just to get their attention. Once seated, it took nearly 10 minutes for a server to come by. I ordered a boba drink and pho with brisket. The server returned after another 8 minutes to say they were out of both the boba flavor I wanted and the brisket. After I reordered, the replacement boba arrived extremely sweet -- basically tasted like watered-down sugar syrup with almost no tea flavor. The pho was even more disappointing.. the broth was watery and bland, there was very little beef, and the bowl was light on noodles and toppings. It felt like a shadow of what they used to serve. It's sad to see a spot that was once one of the best pho places in Salinas (in my opinion) decline this sharply. The restaurant was unusually empty, and the few other customers looked just as unimpressed. I understand rising food and restaurant operating costs, but cutting quality this much will only drive more people away. I rarely leave negative reviews and I don't consider myself to be such a picky eater, but this experience was genuinely disappointing. I'm not sure I'll be back.

Don't let the grilled windows and doors throw you off--this place is a genuine diamond in the rough…read moretucked away on a bustling Salinas street. Once you step inside, the vibe shifts instantly into a perfectly clean, well-organized Mexican eatery that feels both authentic and welcoming. The service is incredibly friendly and the prices are more than fair. It's the kind of hidden gem that makes you feel like you've been let in on a local secret. The food is quite frankly phenomenal. We're talking enchiladas cooked to perfection, delicious tortillas, quesadillas boasting that glorious, milky-stretchy cheese we all dream about, and bold salsas that bring just enough zing to make you reach for your napkin (and maybe a glass of water). Even the staples like refried beans and rice were flawless, leaving us with absolutely nothing to fault. If you're looking for a meal with enough soul and spice to make you sweat, this is a must-visit!

Chilaquiles 9/10 Made perfectly, spicy, and full of flavor. The beans are always great soft with cheese and super comforting. Only bummer was the eggs ordered 3 sunny side up but no runny yolk. Still amazing overall. Chicken Enchiladas 8.5/10 Really good, would definitely order again. The sauce and chicken were on point, tons of flavor. Just wish it had a little more texture everything was a bit soft, maybe some veggies or a little crisp on the tortilla. Still super nostalgic and tasty. Service was quick and friendly like always. The vibe hasn't changed since I was a kid super nostalgic, and I love that.
