I had to have a root canal done last month and I'm so glad and grateful Dr. Singer was able to perform it for me. His office staff was amazingly helpful. They were able to squeeze me in the same day by rearranging their patient schedule which I appreciated tremendously. When Dr. Singer reassured me there would be no pain during the procedure, I of course didn't take him at face value. Of course there would be some discomfort! I thought to myself. It's a root canal, not a walk in the park! However, lo and behold imagine my shock and amazement when there was no pain whatsoever during the procedure! I had a pain in one of my teeth and couldn't say which one it was. I was nervous seeing a doctor other than Dr. Singer, whom I'd seen a few years ago. I was scheduled with Dr. Izabela Caixeta. I was so nervous I almost cancelled. I'm not good with change. But I ended up seeing her and I'm so glad I did. She was very patient in trying to find out which tooth needed the root canal. Even up until the day of the r.c. she did the cold test several times to make sure. I appreciated that since a r.c. is not something you want to do on the wrong tooth. She's amazing! I can honestly recommend Dr. Erik Singer for any major dental work. He has a calm demeanor, professional manor and it is evident that he knows what he is doing. Facing the likelihood of losing a lower molar, my dentist gave me a referral to Dr. Singer. One of the first things he told me was that he is in the business of saving teeth...just what I wanted to hear. Root canals are not something you look forward to, but knowing it was what I needed, I felt secure that he was the best expert to do the job and that he did! There isn't a worse dental patient walking the earth than me. I have "dental anxiety" and when I learned I needed a root canal, I just about came undone. My dentist referred me to Dr. Singer and from the minute I walked into his office, I was put at ease. His staff had me put headphones on with a cd player (they had them ready for me when I walked in) so that I didn't have to listen to the sounds of the drill from a nearby room. Dr. Singer explained everything he was going to do in his exam before he approached me. He was very professional and kind, and truly calmed me down. On the day of the procedure, I did not feel any pain at all - I'm not exaggerating either. Not any pain. Even his numbing injections don't hurt. I was referred to Drs. Singer and Stein by a friend who had been very happy with their work over the years. Dr. Stein was able to fit me in quickly for an appointment as I was just in town for 2 days. I was incredibly impressed by my visit . My regular Dentist referred me to Dr. Singer as I was experiencing pain on the right side of my mouth. Dr. Singer was able to identify the tooth where a root canal was needed. I could not believe how painless and simple the process was and I was able to keep my gold crown on the problem tooth intact. An hour later I was out of the office. The technology since I had root canal last has improved greatly and Dr. Singer put it use. I am in the process of redoing a lot of the previous dental work I had done many years ago. I went to a new dentist and the first thing they found was a bad root canal. He called Dr. Singer right away who waited for me to come to his office immediately for a consultation. He took a 3D X-ray and basically the dentist who did the previous root canal missed a root. I came back the following week for a total redo of the root canal and if it is at all possible, it was a pleasant experience. My first visit. I was referred by my dentist. Dr Singer did a thorough exam of the area of pain with the most comprehensive x-rays. He found 2 old root canals that were infected and redid those after explaining the procedure. Cost was consistent with those in the area. **5/31/19 7:00 PM, a updated explanation on the 2 hr chair time. My regular Dentist could not help me and I had to find someone to pinpoint the exact tooth and relieve the pain. I like you, went to Yelp, the reviews were good, Dr Singer was close to my house and I was lucky in making the right choice! Today's date; Friday 7/31/19 First visit was Wed 7/29 for a consultation and Dr Singer identified the tooth that required a root canal. 2nd visit was yesterday, Thur 7/30; I was in the chair for 2 hours (mission accomplished) and experienced only a tiny amount of pain. **I don't think 2 hours is the usual, but I think it took double the time because he was able to save a crown that was only 4 months old -- (Thank GOD). I was told that the tooth may be sensitive for a week or two, but to my surprise I had a hamburger just 1 hour after leaving his office with no pain. Today I have already eaten twice without any repercussion. If I have this done again, I can't expect to have this much success in such a short period of time and I would guess a few days is the norm for most people to recover. However the point is, Dr Singer is very good at what he does and in addition, it only took his efficient office 15 minutes to coordinate my dental coverage with the out of pocket cost. I had what's called an Abscess under my #3 molar, It was causing head pain and sinus problems.The molar had a root canal that needed to be replaced. I was referred to an Endodontic in Manhattan Beach by my dentist. The Abscess was attached to the bottom of the tooth. The first Dr. wanted to do the root canal $1,500.00 and then preform surgery on the side of my gum for an extra $1,776.00 And on top of already charging me $150.00 for the exam. I don't have dental insurance. I went to see Dr Singer, he preformed the root canal and managed to remove the abscess for less than $1,500.00 saving me $1,776.00. How often does someone have an opportunity to write a second review for an endodontist? That can only mean another root canal procedure, lol. So when my general dentist told me I needed another root canal on a separate tooth, Dr. Singer automatically came to mind. Dr. Singer is the best. I went to see him two times. The first time I went there was by a referral from my dentist. He did a root canal and it was painless. I had migraine headaches for years and I was told by my regular doctor that I had TMJ. My dentist wanted me to pay $500 for a mouth piece to help me to stop grinding my teeth at night. I kept telling him that I don't do that. As soon as Dr. Singer did my root canal all my migraines went away. I was miss diagnosed by my regular doctor all this time. Dr Singer really knows what he is taking about. He has all the high tech equipment. His office doesn't even seem like a dentist office, more like a spa. The office staff is really friendly and kind. The second time I went there was for a second opinion. My regular dentist told me that I needed to get my tooth pulled because it was infected and cracked. I told him that i had no pain in the tooth. He said it was going to cost $4,000 all together with an implant. Who has that kind of money to throw away? I immediately called Dr. Singer's office to schedule an appointment. The receptionist was very friendly and had compassion. She gave me an appointment the next business day. Dr. Singer's office took a high tech X ray and Dr. Singer said there was hope to save the tooth. He told me to come back the same day and he will redo the molar where he did the root canal. I went back and he redid the molar and he told me that there was no crack in the tooth. He cleaned out the infection that was under my molar. He even saved my crown. I had very rapid onset of tooth pain and went to my dentist, Linda Jo Gardner, without an appointment. She saw me, took a quick look and referred me to Dr. Singers office. She called ahead and made arrangements for me to be seen immediately. When I got to Dr. singers office the staff was awesome. By that time I was in extreme pain ! They cautioned me that I may have to wait. Well five minutes later I was in the dentist chair. Dr. Singer, who I have seen in the past worked quickly and performed a root canal without requiring a crown. He is completely competent !!! When I went home I began to feel significant pain and the office staff was available for my call, responded to my needs, and didn't laugh at me for being such a pussy. All good , in all regards. I was extremely impressed by Dr.Singer, and his assistants, Barbara and Irene. I can honestly say I've never seen such attention to detail and consideration in any other business or office I have frequented. All paperwork can be filled in, in advance, on line. If so completed, upon arrival at the front desk, all one has to do is sign the form. I was offered a bottle of water by Irene while I waited in a well appointed room with many, many magazines and comfy chairs. Once I was escorted into a chair, an xray shield was placed on me that covered me from my neck to my feet. Two quick xrays. Then Barbara explained the procedure to me. She showed me the dental shield and a small "block" that would hold my mouth open. She asked if I was cold and would like a blanket. I was given sunglasses to shield my eyes. Once the chair was positioned, she asked if a pillow under my neck would make me more comfortable (yes). She repeated and responded to a few fears and questions I had. As soon as Dr.Singer entered the room, hands began flying- numbing cream, a quick, painless injection, Vaseline on my lips, a dam with a big piece cut out so I could breathe (the only other time a dentist had used one with me, the dam covered my nose and I panicked, couldn't breathe). The little "block" that held my mouth open was wonderful. My mouth was not stretched nor exhausted from attempting to open my mouth as wide as possible. Dr. Singer worked quickly and efficiently. The whole procedure was painless. Honestly! Barbara and Dr.Singer worked completely in sync. Absolutely excellent teamwork along with Irene too. If I need another root canal, I'll be heading right to Dr. Singer's office. I was nervous when I arrived but no longer. Thank you for an excellent experience at an endodontist office. read more
