This review is based solely on wait time and comfort of waiting room. I am not a paitanit, my 93 year old father is... With that said...(my father loves him, and he and nurce seemed to be professional and kind). And seems to me he's a great guy! Very personable and thorough regarding treatments. We arrived 10 minutes before appointment, waited to be checked in for over 15 minutes. Those of you that have elderly parents will benefit from this post. Waiting room very small and clean. Lots of Camaras everywhere. Very uncomfortable chairs. I figured I'd be waiting for my father at least 1.5 hours. (can't leave due to his age and health). As we sit here and wait (35 minutes) the doctor is literally talking to another patient just threw the glass door in full view. Mind you my Fater is now agitated beyond belief! And I'm trying to get comfortable in the worst chairs ever for a waiting room. It's already been an hour..... still haven't seen the receptionist / nurse, I believe this is a two-person office at best. My father was taken back after about 35 minutes. So, my take a way; Make sure you get 1 appointment of the day and bring a pillow for your back. read more

Only 4 stars since I am not actually having work done by him. My dentist recommend Dr. Endo for a root canal. This was my 2nd opinion as the first doctor I saw was very sterile and staff was pushy. Dr. Endo said it looks like I will have to get the tooth extracted so he can't do the work. I was not happy about it but, he took time with me, walked me through my x-rays and explained everything to me. He gave me a copy of my x-rays without me even asking. He also send my x-rays to my dentist on the same day. The first doctor I saw never did any of that. Dr. Endo is extremely friendly and his staff is too. I hope to never see him again, LOL but, if I do, I know I am in good hands. read more

I was referred to Dr. Endo by my dentist because I had something going on with my gums and pain in a tooth. He did a CT scan of my mouth and actually sat down with me to go over it, discuss what he saw, and explain why the issue wasn't an endodontist issue but a periodontal issue. I did see a periodontist and she ended up doing surgery and the prognosis is great! I never had a dentist treat me like an equal so it was refreshing because I was able to ask as many stupid questions and he answered them without thinking them stupid. If I ever do need endodontic work, I would definitely go to Dr. Endo. read more

Murphy's law is alive and well, especially when it comes to a dull achy tooth one week prior to a stressful trip to take care of my 90 year old Mom who fell and broke her pelvis in Hawaii. My excellent dentist, Dr. Barry Kadowaki, was kind enough to get me in on Monday. His X-rays did not show a crack in the filling, but with the symptoms, he gave me a referral to Dr. Peter Endo for an endodontic consult. I was reluctant at first because I couldn't fathom the idea of undergoing a root canal so close to leaving on Saturday. However, the peace of mind of knowing the diagnosis and cause overrode the hesitance. His office staff was very accommodating and had me come in on Wednesday. His office played relaxing Hawaiian music which made me feel at home. My father was an amazing and well respected dentist, so I had very high standards. Dr. Endo surpassed all of this with his knowledge, patience, skill and compassion. He spent an incredible amount of time with me using a high powered operating microscope, doing numerous bite tests with different materials to simulate normal situations. Since I had developed an increased sensitivity to cold in the affected tooth, he used -70 degree dry ice for the final test. Cool, so very very cool! Dr. Endo then sat down with me, and patiently showed me the X-ray, photos and drew out what he thought was going on. He was honest and forthright saying he felt the nerve root was not seriously damaged enough to warrant a root canal. Peter went on to give me a treatment plan to get me through the stressful next couple weeks. Being a physician and surgeon myself, I was very appreciative of his attention to detail, bedside manner and integrity. When I described my terrific experience with my wife, she remembered that a number of years ago, she had a root canal with Dr. Endo. Terry remembered being so scared because of all the horror stories she had heard, that she was amazed by how skillful he was, and how well her procedure went with him with a smooth and rapid recovery. We can't say enough about the excellent superb care we have had with Dr. Peter Endo, and recommend him enthusiastically and without any reservation. I'm always telling my husband he should've looked in my mouth before marrying me. Close inspection would've revealed what an old nag I am despite appearances to the contrary. I had my first root canal a couple years ago, rather than decades ago, as my regular dentist, Dr. Baars, who I've also reviewed, predicted. People always shudder when hearing the word "root canal," envisioning some sort of medieval torture, myself included. In truth, the worst part of the process is what brings you there in the first place: a cavity that has affected the root pulp, where you feel like you can feel your heart beating in your mouth and entire skull cavity. The throbbing, throbbing, throbbing just became so intolerable. Even though I had an appointment scheduled later in the week, I just couldn't wait any longer. Thankfully, Dr. Endo's office squeezed me in for the next day, apparently not a day too soon. The office is a bit hard too find. I'm from around this area, and I still got a little lost, initially parking in the back lot, having to walk a good couple of minutes to the front where his office is located, rather discreetly. Once in the office, I was immediately ushered into the another area to fill out some consents. It's all computerized, which is such a nice improvement from filling out a million forms over the years. A couple minutes later, I was done with the consents, and ushered into one of the examining rooms. They x-rayed my tooth, and Dr. Endo told me he was surprised it took me so long to see him. He proceeded to tell me what might happen if the decay was too deep: having to be referred to another dental specialist to remove my tooth to save as much of the tooth as possible before undergoing a root canal. Estimated cost, my son's first year of college tuition, the part of the procedure that was really the subject of horror movies. Dr. Endo then began the root canal. He injected a ton of novocaine. God bless him. While he was waiting for the novocaine to work, his nurse inserted the dental dam, which was also new to me. I thought I'd seen everything during my hours in the dentist chair. Go figure! The whole procedure took about an hour. I only felt a little pressure during the procedure and a little soreness in my gums that evening. Dr. Endo gave me his cellular number and told me to call him if I had any concerns whatsoever. What doctor does that in this day and age? Three years later, I still have no problem with the tooth. Sadly, I'll probably be back more than I want to. But if I have to get a root canal, I'll definitely go back to Dr. Endo. Aside from being a very friendly, professional doctor, his name is part of his profession, "endodontist." It's gotta mean something, right? read more

I just had my first root canal, thanks to Dr. Endo. It was a major one, and he made me very comfortable before and during the procedure. He was very communicative about what he was going to do, how long it would take, and what I should do for follow up. His office is exceptionally clean and modern, and his staff were very helpful, as well. read more

A year ago or so my husband had to have his first root canal. He was extremely nervous and needed something to calm his nerves. Dr. Endo accommodated my husband and prescribed something to relax him before his appointment. Dr.Endo and all staff are professional and are sensitive to their patients' insecurities. They care about their patients and explain everything in depth to the patient. When all was said and done my husband looked at me and said: "I don't know why I was so afraid of,that was a piece of cake." Now it was my turn last week for a root canal. Prior to my appointment, I had a sinus infection that affected the side that I was having my root canal. After my root canal, I had some pain and expressed this to Dr. Endo's office girl. She immediately contacted Dr. Endo and I got a personal phone call from Dr. Endo. I believe I also have had 2 more phone calls from Dr. Endo because he has been worried about me. Earlier this year, I went to four different endodontists for consultation because I had some infection on one of my root canaled tooth, and wasn't sure if it can be saved with a RC retreat. I got a 3-D scan with Dr Endo and received a detailed assessment with Dr Endo. We sat down for a good 20-30 minutes to discuss my situation and Dr Endo gave me three different options and the pros/cons. I subsequently went to three other endodontists for second opinions, and ended up doing a RC retreat with one of them because he is in-network. Dr Endo didn't think RC retreat alone will fix the issue because the tooth end is in a reverse triangle shape probably from a previous surgery and a root canal retreat cannot fill that area. Turns out Dr Endo's opinion was dead on. The endodontist that actually did the treatment was not able to fill beyond the triangle opening at the root, even though he said he could before the surgery. Out of the four endodontists I went to, Dr Endo gave the most detailed and correct assessments. I also received detailed answers in email when I asked additional questions. He is also well known in the business, I respect his opinion very much. He is not only friendly, he is actually a very good endodontist. read more

I was dreading the need for a "root canal". But my experience with Dr Endo and his team changed that. I had one done yesterday and, given what had to be done, it was a very good experience. Dr Endo is cheerful, communicative, passionate about his deep speciality, and takes time to walk you through the condition, options, process, and outcomes. During the process, I felt I was in skilled, caring hands. Listening to the interaction with the assistant, I could tell he was totally focused but calm and not stressed. He listened to me and worked with me getting the local anesthetic just right so I felt no pain, yet was not drooling or slurring when the procedure was complete. Then, he invited my wife to join him at the computer screen in the "debrief area" as he walked through images of the work and results. I found him conversational, very knowledgable, and good at getting information across in everyday terms. The office team people were friendly and knowledgable, and worked with me to get an urgent appointment, as well as liaise with the dentist who referred me and who would later fit the crown. The assistant during the procedure was so caring, waited with me in the prep stage and kept up conversation to take my mind off things. The office is well organized, pleasant surroundings, utilizes technology well, and feels well thought-through. After the procedure, Dr Endo walked down the hall to the offices of Dr Chen and Dr Yoshioka (also 5 stars), who had examined me and referred me to Dr Endo. He took the Xrays and images, went over the work done (very deep work), and what was best for the crown in a week or so. I would definitely make the same choice again if I need to (fingers crossed I won't), but know here is a safe and caring option if I do. read more

What a great referral I got to see Dr. Endo! He is not only a top-notch practitioner, but he is definitely one of the nicest men I have ever met! My first encounter with Dr. Endo was a few years ago (pre-yelp for me) when I needed a root canal. I can't remember how it went down, but my husband called my cell and said to go to his office, doctor can see you. It was Christmas Eve and I was at Costco getting some last minute "had-to" stuff. I figured he was going to put me at the end of his patient list so I thought I had some time so I finished up at Costco and headed over. I was so deeply embarrassed to find that he and several staff members had been waiting for me for an hour or more! On Christmas Eve! None of them ever showed me a frown or judgement. Not once did anyone make me feel like a jerk for making them wait. I mean, I DID feel like a jerk once I fully understood the situation, but everyone at Dr. Endo's was kind and patient and professional. Fast forward a few years to two days before my trip to Africa. Toothache again, so I go to my beloved dentist Dr. Steve Yabuno in a panic. He doesn't see a problem so he sends me right over to "the endodontist he likes" and much to my joy he sent me to Dr. Endo! Dr. Endo fits me in, does an ultrasound of my sinus and finds it swollen, swollen, swollen. He can't believe I don't have drippy nose or dizziness. Since Dr. Endo knows I'm headed out of the country pronto, he took care of the problem (medication) and made sure my trip would be safe, comfortable, and he covered every possibility. Did I mention he is one of the nicest men I have ever met? I love him! And, you GOTTA LOVE an ENDOdontist named ENDO!! read more

First time to see Dr Endo today due to a dental accident. Very, very impressive! And so nice, too.

I agree that the office is very modern and has a nice integrative approach with internet technology. It is clean as well. Dr. Endo is a skilled oral surgeon and is fairly accomodating of restless/nervous patients. HOWEVER, I found the office to be extremely difficult to find. It was out in the middle of nowhere in Torrance, miles from the freeway, and tucked away in a little niche next to TGIF's. I wasn't the only patient that day who was late to my appointment because they couldn't find the office. The few other patients that entered the office also voiced similar complaints. Furthermore, the assistant, Linda, is slow to respond to email questions. Also I advise you to be weary of the billing practices of this dentist. They seem to be kind of shady about it. The first thing you do is sign a bunch of liability to pay forms without ever being told how much you have to pay. They did the procedure without really telling me how much it would cost and then didn't check if my insurance would pay for it beforehand. They asked me for $300 at the end of the procedure without checking with my insurance first. I find these people to be very sneaky in attempting to get money. I work 2 jobs and cannot afford a $1500 procedure, which is about what I was charged. My insurance only paid $1000 so far, which means that I have to work nearly 2 weeks at minimum wage to pay for this. Had I been informed of these drastic costs before the procedure and also been made clearly aware that insurance does not offer full coverage, I may have opted out of the procedure or looked for a cheaper alternative. Be forewarned that this place is very shady in its billing practices and I am very aggravated. This has caused me an undue amount of monetary distress and problems. I would NEVER recommend him to anyone else I know. read more
