I am very disappointed with this doctor. I thought I was going to have root canal done on one of my teeth. The day of the surgery, he does a catscan on my teeth and the catscan revealed that the teeth cannot be saved. Instead of telling me the findings of the catscan, he acts like he is performing root canal on my teeth. In middle of procedure, he tells me about the findings of the catscan and I should let him pull the tooth. I did not like being keep in dark about the cat scan until middle of supposed root canal. He is all about money. He charged me $145 consulting fee for his initial failed misdiagnosis. He charged my insurance $500 for failed endo procedure. If you chose this doctor, make sure he gives you catscan at initial consultation. read more

If you need a root canal done this is the place to go! I was having molar tooth pain for a while and knew it was time to get it resolved. I was searching yelp for a reputable dentist and came across Dr. Komatsu, DDS. I gave them a call and they were able to squeeze me into their busy schedule. He is an expert in this field, and he will walk you through every step of the process and make sure there is no pain or discomfort at all. If you have heard the term root canal before you know it is usually associated with pain but you wont experience that here! Dr. Komatsu was able to walk me through the whole procedure and offered to do the treatment the same day despite it being so late in the day already. Once they started working on the tooth they were able to get me out of pain and out of there within an hour! They have proper Covid-19 protocols in place and they definitely follow them. They will have you wait in your car and call or text the number when you get to the door at your scheduled time. You fill out most of the paperwork online and just have a few digital signatures when you get into the office. They have hand sanitizer which they have you use once you get inside and do regular temperature checks both at check in and before the treatment. I went to Dr. Komatsu to get a second opinion for a failed root canal. He was so meticulous and now for the first time in a couple of years the area feels like it is healing. I had a toothache. Two dentists weren't able to definitively tell me what my problem was. The second one referred me to Dr. Komatsu. On the first visit he took a conservative approach and recommended I come back a week later to see if he could really figure out what my problem was. On my second visit he definitely figured out I needed a root canal, which I had never had done before but had heard plenty of reasons to worry. Dr. Komatsu and Dolores got me out of some of the worst pain I have ever experienced. It started out of nowhere on a Monday night, and by the next day it was so bad, I couldn't make it through the day (or the night) anymore without constantly taking Ibuprofen. The strange thing about the pain was that it seemed to originate in a gum area without any teeth (former wisdom teeth site). I went to my regular dentist, then a dental surgeon, who sent me down the street to Dr. Komatsu, past 4:00 p.m. on a Thursday afternoon. Not only was Dr. Komatsu able to diagnose the problem, but he also offered to do the root canal immediately. As it turned out, I had some rare presentation of root pain: Even though the pain was caused by a dying root in a tooth I've been having issues with ever since a dentist first did a terrible job on it when I was 19, the pain manifested in a different area of my gums. Dr. Komatsu was spot on, and even though it was well past 5:00 p.m. at that point, he and Dolores got to work immediately. By 7:00 p.m. I was out of the office and literally crying because I was so happy and relieved. I should also add that I have a severe phobia of the dentist (like so many). I won't even go in for a crown without Valium and Nitrous oxide. Neither was available at the time, but I was in such excruciating pain, I didn't care. And the whole procedure was *entirely painless*. I was shaking for a good part of it, just because I'm generally so afraid. But it was very obvious that Dr. Komatsu knew what he was doing. His calm, matter-of-fact demeanor really calmed me down. And Dolores was not just an amazing assistant but also an engaging person to talk to leading up to the procedure, which is something that really helps me deal with my anxiety. I have been seeing Dr. Komatsu for years now, he has done phenomenal work in my mouth with minimal discomfort. Just had a quick 10 minute check-up this morning. He is ever so professional with a great bedside manner and clearly explains what needs to be done and his recommendations. Just last year my dentist referred me to him since I had a root of a tooth decay and I was told I would likely require a root canal, possible implant/porcelain tooth. Dr. Komatsu was able to do the root canal, place a post and save the good parts of the tooth in 2 visits. His staff is amazing, on the ball with what needs to be done, efficient and quick to get you room'd on time, start with ordered x-rays/other immediately after your arrival. Ex. I do not enjoy getting root canals especially after a previous dentist did not numb me sufficiently during a root canal procedure and I felt like an ice pick was rammed into my head.
