As a southern california resident for over 50 years, i have yet to experience a dental organization that offers friendly, sincere and professionally efficient service ..none other than RootVision Endo in Torrance. This Endodontic organization is extremely well managed, from the receptionist, the dental assistants and the dentist (Dr. Sam Yun)..all made me feel comfortable and confident for my root canal. The entire process lasted less than an hour without any pain or discomfort. All throughout the process, Dr. Yun would occasionally ask if there is any pain or uneasiness of which i signalled ok with my thumbs up. Came in for root canal said there's $140 fee for consultation but would be put towards procedure balance. Then was told my insurance was not covering anything and told me they had a special on financing , sales pitch. She then left me in the room for 30 min so I finally left the office. Nobody ever said the consult was over. .Delta dental reloaded on the 1st so I called to make another appt. Was told the $140 was only good for the day of consult. Also would not tell me if my insurance was covering unless I came in person on day of appt.Seems like they were unorganized. read more

I have four teeth that need a root canal. The dentist tried to put a plastic cover in my mouth before the procedure but it was cutting off my airway. They tried trimming it down but it was too big. They could not perform the procedure. They charged me $1200.00 in advance. It took them 6 days to refund me $600.00. They are still going to charge me the other $600.00 because of X-rays. Even though I know my insurance covers X-rays. I feel like I got ripped off. Now I will see what BBB says about my situation. read more

Extremely pleased with the level of care I received from the entire staff but specifically Dr. Chen. I had a pretty severe infection and he did a great job. Very nice bedside manner and very gentle with the work he did. The staff was very nice and attentive. They got me in quick and were able to complete the work that day. Very pleased. I hope to not need another root canal but I know where I will be going if so. They also give out their personal contact information if there are any issues outsides of business hours. I have had to come here 3 separate times for procedures and I wouldn't go anywhere else. I don't even know what service or cost is at another office because having such good service is worth it. 1. Dr Lo-Shen Chen is the best! He explains EVERYTHING. What your options are, potential outcomes, realistic expectations and very empathetic. He offers reassurance the whole way though. Did I mention no pain? 2. Insurance - the team is prepared with all of your insurance status, out of pocket costs, options for financing and limits. They communicate along the way so there is no surprises. They even let me know that I had reached my max for the year. 3. I have not had had a difficult time with the wait. If there has been an occasion where I will have to wait, they reach out to me early so that I can prepare and be there closer to the time I will be taken in. Lots of proactive communication. 4. I came to Rootvision Endo Torrance with my dentist's referal. This is my second referal, I did not like my dentist's first one. I will always read the online reviews . Their excellent reviews and especially Dr Lo-Shen Chen made me decide right away. Dr Chen is just what other patients said about him. He is Incredible, best of the best. I have no tolerance for pain, he was so gentle with the numbing. It was a complicated root canal therapy on a molar with 4 roots including curve roots. I was so nervous yet he was checking on how I was doing the whole time and explained step by step. Before I realized it, it was over. The whole procedure was very comfortable and pleasant. Also the office is very clean, state of the art equipment and the staff are nice. The next day, Dr Chen had Connie ( office manager) called to check on how I was doing. No pain or discomfort at all. I was referred this morning by my primary Mardesich and they took such good care of me. From Connie at the desk to the doctor Lo-Shen Chen and doctors nurse helping me. Everybody was so nice , thorough and so genuine. Dr Lo-Shen kept talking to me the whole time saying how great I was doing and made me feel so relaxed. Connie was so detailed on the charges and what my insurance covers and what It doesn't. I absolutely love being told upfront vs an big bill later. She is absolutely amazing. This was my 2nd opinion, went to Dental care in Carson and they said my tooth must be pulled and wanted to charge me $995, they had no expectation to save my tooth. RootVision said they could save my tooth snd the crack was only at the top of my tooth. so I opted for the root canal to save my pearl. Best experience , I'm hoping I don't need to go back but if anything like this ever happens again I definitely will come back to RootVision Endo. This is, hands down, the very best endodontist office that I have ever stepped foot in. The receptionists were all very warm and welcoming, the office was immaculately modern, and the service was, without a doubt, the best of the best. It was very busy when I checked my niece in (she was referred to Dr Chen for a consult, which unfortunately turned into a retreat of a root canal done by another dds many years ago) but the flow of the office made wait times nearly non-existent! Dr. Chen is the master of his art, period. You will NOT find another endodontist who is so committed to helping his patients! He is as knowledgeable as he is caring, and that is something seriously lacking in the dental field these days. The office manager, CONNIE, is the heart of the office and it shows. I came here because I was in severe pain. My general dentist Qazi referred me to get a specialists opinion. This facility is very modern in all technologies and well kept office. Very clean and sterile. Let's get started. I was seen right away by Dr Nugent. He was straight to the point on what was happening with my molar and tooth. He explained what the current situation was and what would happen if left untreated. I also have temporary crowns and he stated how it could worsen and make that job twice as hard to later resolve. Due to the cash price I was getting ready to walk away as I could not reach a median with one of the employees. However, right before leaving and paying my consultation visit of $150 CONNIE started inquiring as to "seek to understand" what my current financial situation was... Now with that said I had a meltdown bc I'm personally going through a lot. To add insult to injury I now have this bonus expense. Connie went above and beyond to negotiate the price that I could afford and she was able to lower it by $500 bucks which believe me was a HUGE DIFFERENCE. So THANK YOU CONNIE. Dr Nugent is straight up so he said this will take an hour and you should not feel anything but a little pressure. I must said that during that hour I almost forgot what was being done. I did not experience ANY pain whatsoever ( previously in severe pain ) due to the treatment of two root canals. Moral of the story. Never had a root canal, and I walked in unaware of what to expect. The front office was extremely polite and communicative. The Dentist was so kind and friendly. What I did not like was that the assistant to the dentist was still in training. I wouldn't have mind if they had let me know ahead of time. Majority of the time, it's best to let the customer know that prior to treatment. Because of that, she couldn't close properly and the doctor had to come back and have someone else take over. After the numbing wore off, I can feel something between my teeth and I can't even floss that area. So, great front staff, kind doctor, just would have liked to be treated with someone who wasn't in training. read more

Why would any one do business with this mill/zoo??? This place created so much Anxiety at Consultation. To many people/staff dealing with stuff a potential client should not see. Be prepared for a long wait and a pricey CT Scan Cost ... There are many better Doctors with great mannerisms/bed side manners/skills and Places that are quiet, calm, skilled, professional atmospheres. Yes, the other places may cost a bit more - but worth it for your sanity. The Torrance office was not for me. I trusted my gut and went else where for 2nd opinion and DID NOT NEED the multiple root canals that said I needed. I only needed ONE Root Canal. I can't believe I'm saying this, but what a great experience my root canal was! From the moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted and assisted. The office is esthetically appealing, very clean, and all of the employees seem to work wonderfully as a team and are so polite and professional. Connie was incredibly helpful and accommodating, the treatment coordinator was wonderful, Edith was pleasant and sweet, and Michelle who worked with Dr. Chen throughout the duration of my procedure-couldn't have been any sweeter or caring. He explained my procedure clearly/concisely, gave me the most pain free injections I've ever had, checked in with me periodically during my procedure to make sure I was comfortable, and was done with my root canal in record time. Be prepared to wait up to an hour to get called back. They seem to schedule appts like a cattle call. I had a 3:30 appt and arrived at 3:20. Three other pApple came in behind me also with 3:30 appts and all were called back BEFORE me. imagine if I had been late? They would have cancelled my appt.
