He did an amazing job helping me understand what was going on with my teeth and thoroughly answered any questions I had about the treatment and its necessity. He also helped me calm down when I was getting anxious about the treatment. I had a great experience with the staff as well who tried very hard to help me find an in-network general dentist while I was undergoing my root canal. So sweet! This review is solely for the office staff, my consult with Dr. Sam Yun was fine, he came in explained the need for a root canal and then said he would have someone come in and go over the financial portion. Here's where it gets spicy! Sean comes in the room to go over my out off pocket cost. He rushes thru the treatment plan and quickly says your total cost is 979.00. When I asked him to break it down, he proceeded to go over it in a rush, as if he couldn't wait to get out of there. I didn't feel comfortable at all. I asked for further details on the following treatments that were on the plan: Code 9612 - Therapeutic Med Sean said this was medicine for the root canal used to rinse out the root canal. Code 7465 Destruction of Lesion(s) Sean said this was a laser treatment, and when I asked what it was for he said it's to make for a precise job! When I told him the out of pocket cost was too steep and that the charges didn't seem to align with my copays, he asked, well what's your budget, I will go back and talk to the Dr and to the office manager. He comes back and says, we can remove these treatments, and it will be 566.00! I said, these treatments seem pretty important and I don't want to skimp on my care, but that I would like to call my insurance (Delta Care) to go over the treatment and coverage and come back. The whole experience just felt off, so I called after I left and Marissa answered, I asked to speak to the office manager ONLY to be told that she's on maternity leave!! If that was the case then who did Sean go to the back to talk to!! I told Marissa that I had just left and I explained what took place with Sean. Marissa said that they have a stand in office manager but that they weren't available. I did not get the name of the stand in office manager because by this time I was livid. I asked Marissa to go over the treatment plan with me, and initially she said the therapeutic med was an injection in the tooth to flush out any bacteria. And the Destruction of lesion is an anti microbial rinse to help disinfect tooth to prevent infection from coming back; an enhanced cleaning process. (NOT a laser as previously advised) I asked again to go over the therapeutic med, and she put me on hold and came back with an apology, stating it's not an injection but rather a topical that the put on the tooth during the root canal (not sure what that is for, I was done at this point) She said I had the option to forfeit those treatments, and that they were preventative treatments! I said if the dr recommended these treatments how is it so simple to just remove them? And I was told, this is to help YOU with the cost. I did rescheduled my appointment with out those treatments. However I DID NOT return for treatment . I was able to find another Endodontist and went that route. They were straight forward and their treatment plan did not have these additional treatments. My out of pocket out the door was 455.00, much better than 979.00! read more

Yesterday I had an appointment for a consultation for a root canal. Dr. Chen was available to do the procedure immediately so I figured, why not get it over with? Extremely pleased with the level of care I received from the entire staff but specifically Dr. Chen. I had a pretty severe infection and he did a great job. Very nice bedside manner and very gentle with the work he did. The staff was very nice and attentive. They got me in quick and were able to complete the work that day. Very pleased. I hope to not need another root canal but I know where I will be going if so. They also give out their personal contact information if there are any issues outsides of business hours. I never write bad reviews but I feel I have to warn anyone who's trying to come, this place a SCAM. 154$ for a consultation fee is charged to you and to the insurance. If the insurance covers it, supposedly you will get your money back but they don't tell you that unless you ask. The person I spoke with over the phone was very unprofessional and condescending as well. The Doctor also told me "Yeah sorry to tell you have three tooth infections." I went to a second opinion they said no you only have one the other two teeth look fine. I would be VERY CAUTIOUS about what they tell you and charge you. read more

This review has been due for awhile. I actually went to RootVision last year around November. I had to get a x-ray and see if I needed a root canal ect. After the x-ray showed that I in fact needed a root canal, unfortunately the amount even with insurance was too much for me at that time. I told the receptionist I'll have to think about it and come back at another time. As I'm in the hallway walking back to my car, the office manager, Connie, who was on phone when I was at the front desk came out and talked to me. She said 'what can we do to make sure you get the treatment that you need?'. Make a long story short, we went back to the office, she ran my medical insurance and worked with me financial wise to get the treatment that I needed. I am really appreciative to Connie for working with me and her professional and caring approach. Furthermore, I believe the dentist who worked on my tooth was Mr. Lo-Shen Chen, who was a great Endodontic and made the process feel so easy to go through and did an absolutely great job. From the wonderful looking office to the managers, associates and Endodontics there, this place was definitely a 5 star. I have referred people here and will keep referring. Came in for root canal said there's $140 fee for consultation but would be put towards procedure balance. Then was told my insurance was not covering anything and told me they had a special on financing , sales pitch. She then left me in the room for 30 min so I finally left the office. Nobody ever said the consult was over. .Delta dental reloaded on the 1st so I called to make another appt. Was told the $140 was only good for the day of consult. This Endodontic organization is extremely well managed, from the receptionist, the dental assistants and the dentist (Dr. Sam Yun)..all made me feel comfortable and confident for my root canal. The entire process lasted less than an hour without any pain or discomfort. I have four teeth that need a root canal. The dentist tried to put a plastic cover in my mouth before the procedure but it was cutting off my airway. They tried trimming it down but it was too big. They could not perform the procedure. They charged me $1200.00 in advance. It took them 6 days to refund me $600.00. They are still going to charge me the other $600.00 because of X-rays. Even though I know my insurance covers X-rays. I feel like I got ripped off. Now I will see what BBB says about my situation. read more

I have had to come here 3 separate times for procedures and I wouldn't go anywhere else. I don't even know what service or cost is at another office because having such good service is worth it. 1. Dr Lo-Shen Chen is the best! He explains EVERYTHING. What your options are, potential outcomes, realistic expectations and very empathetic. He offers reassurance the whole way though. Did I mention no pain? 2. Insurance - the team is prepared with all of your insurance status, out of pocket costs, options for financing and limits. They communicate along the way so there is no surprises. They even let me know that I had reached my max for the year. 3. I have not had had a difficult time with the wait. Their excellent reviews and especially Dr Lo-Shen Chen made me decide right away. Dr Chen is just what other patients said about him. He is Incredible, best of the best. I have no tolerance for pain, he was so gentle with the numbing. It was a complicated root canal therapy on a molar with 4 roots including curve roots. I was so nervous yet he was checking on how I was doing the whole time and explained step by step. Before I realized it, it was over. The whole procedure was very comfortable and pleasant. Also the office is very clean, state of the art equipment and the staff are nice. The next day, Dr Chen had Connie ( office manager) called to check on how I was doing. No pain or discomfort at all. I was referred this morning by my primary Mardesich and they took such good care of me. From Connie at the desk to the doctor Lo-Shen Chen and doctors nurse helping me. Everybody was so nice , thorough and so genuine. Dr Lo-Shen kept talking to me the whole time saying how great I was doing and made me feel so relaxed. Connie was so detailed on the charges and what my insurance covers and what It doesn't. I absolutely love being told upfront vs an big bill later. She is absolutely amazing. This was my 2nd opinion, went to Dental care in Carson and they said my tooth must be pulled and wanted to charge me $995, they had no expectation to save my tooth. RootVision said they could save my tooth snd the crack was only at the top of my tooth. so I opted for the root canal to save my pearl. Best experience , I'm hoping I don't need to go back but if anything like this ever happens again I definitely will come back to RootVision Endo. The receptionists were all very warm and welcoming, the office was immaculately modern, and the service was, without a doubt, the best of the best. It was very busy when I checked my niece in (she was referred to Dr Chen for a consult, which unfortunately turned into a retreat of a root canal done by another dds many years ago) but the flow of the office made wait times nearly non-existent! Dr. Chen is the master of his art, period. You will NOT find another endodontist who is so committed to helping his patients! I came here because I was in severe pain. My general dentist Qazi referred me to get a specialists opinion. This facility is very modern in all technologies and well kept office. Very clean and sterile. Let's get started. I was seen right away by Dr Nugent. He was straight to the point on what was happening with my molar and tooth. He explained what the current situation was and what would happen if left untreated. I also have temporary crowns and he stated how it could worsen and make that job twice as hard to later resolve. Due to the cash price I was getting ready to walk away as I could not reach a median with one of the employees. However, right before leaving and paying my consultation visit of $150 CONNIE started inquiring as to "seek to understand" what my current financial situation was... Now with that said I had a meltdown bc I'm personally going through a lot. To add insult to injury I now have this bonus expense. Connie went above and beyond to negotiate the price that I could afford and she was able to lower it by $500 bucks which believe me was a HUGE DIFFERENCE. So THANK YOU CONNIE. Dr Nugent is straight up so he said this will take an hour and you should not feel anything but a little pressure. I must said that during that hour I almost forgot what was being done. I did not experience ANY pain whatsoever ( previously in severe pain ) due to the treatment of two root canals. Moral of the story. Never had a root canal, and I walked in unaware of what to expect. The front office was extremely polite and communicative. The Dentist was so kind and friendly. What I did not like was that the assistant to the dentist was still in training. I wouldn't have mind if they had let me know ahead of time. Majority of the time, it's best to let the customer know that prior to treatment. Because of that, she couldn't close properly and the doctor had to come back and have someone else take over. After the numbing wore off, I can feel something between my teeth and I can't even floss that area. So, great front staff, kind doctor, just would have liked to be treated with someone who wasn't in training. read more

I went to Rootvision Endo in Torrance & had the pleasure of receiving assistance from Connie. Connie went above and beyond to ensure that I received the help and support I needed, and her efforts made a significant difference in my experience. I was having issues with my insurance because I was told my insurance was covered but my specific plan within the insurance was not. I was told I would pay the full price for the root canal treatment. I was very frustrated because I had called so many days off work already for other offices/specialists to fix a complex issue I had in my jaw/tooth & I thought I had finally found an office that took my insurance & would be able to help me. I called my insurance to confirm if this office was eligible within my network how I had initially been told.
