Went to get a couple watches fitted and batteries for a few watches. What a fun store, with an amazing variety of interesting clocks and a great selection of vintage watches. The owner saved me lots of money by recommending I try to recharge my solar batteries for a few days before replacing them as they are very expensive. He was right! Saved me over $200 replacing those batteries. This place has great prices, aand they will do quick work like sizing or simple battery replacement while you wait. March-30-2025 Based on my original review and further details included in the attached photos, Readers on here will understand why someone who has never written a review, has now decided to write such a negative review on Eric's Clocks & Watches. Based on his response to my original review, David from Eric's Clock & Watches appears to believe that good reviews on clocks and battery swaps can be extrapolated to watches. Furthermore, he continues to discredit the review not by providing specifics, rather by blanket Denial with no other goal than concealing the Truth from potential future clients, or in other words, by being Dishonest and Deceitful. As noted in my original review, my experience in dealing with Eric's Clocks & Watches, can be summarized by Unprofessionalism, Incompetence, Unaccountability, and Rudeness. Now, based on David's, from Eric's Clock & Watches, response to my original review, I can confidently add Untruthfulness, Dishonesty, Denial and Deceitfulness. Some of these traits, especially when dealing with David, can also be taken from at least two other reviews here. When you send watches to an Uncle at an unspecified location, as Eric's Clocks & Watches reportedly does, it is normal to ask questions related to that location/pictures and insurance. The fact that Eric's Clocks & Watches would not provide the requested information is telling. No "reputable" business would deny such requests. At the end of the day, I left a watch that had never been serviced but in good working condition, and got back a broken watch!... The watch was returned not only broken but also full of scratches on the back case showing failed attempts to open the case from the back in spite of clear manufacturer's engraved direction for opening from the top side. - For readers, VIDEO OF BROKEN WATCH IS ON GOOGLE-REVIEWS. When I brought the watch back for checking, Eric's Clocks & Watches discredited my reporting, and instead of checking the watch, decided to refund a partial cost. The watch stopped running a few days later. - No "reputable" business, especially one that specializes in watch repairs, would act with such a level of unaccountability and incompetence. - I believe there is another negative review on Eric's Clocks & Watches describing a similar level of unaccountability/incompetence. A "reputable" business that specializes in watch repairs would have been able to show me results of their testing on the watch since such a "reputable" business would have logged the test data. If Eric's Clocks & Watches had the means to assess technical performance of the watch, including via a time-grapher that all "reputable" watchmakers use, then Eric's Clocks & Watches would have been able to quickly run a time-grapher test (takes less than 2 minutes) and show me the results. They did not (although they did claim the watch "runs beautifully"). A partial refund at the expense of a broken watch is not what I consider a "goodwill gesture", rather Unprofessionalism, Incompetence, and Unaccountability. When this "goodwill gesture" is performed together with insults, then that is extreme Rudeness - that no "reputable" business would ever tolerate. I have now included a copy of my invoice/work order/receipt as this is the only paper Eric's Clocks & Watches provided me. There is no mention of a warranty period, and there is no mention of different types of Overhaul/Service work. Accordingly, the type of service I got, no photos, no reports, no test data, no returned parts, no protection packaging, is assumed as being the standard for Eric's Clock & Watches. Such a standard may be considered acceptable when servicing a clock or swapping batteries, but certainly not for a watch. Furthermore, the Reader would know how difficult it would be to make any later claims in the absence of a written warranty period. This is not how a "reputable" business would operate. I am glad to read that David from Eric's Clocks & Watches is "more than happy to accept fair criticism". In light of my fair criticism expressed in my two reviews, and for the sake of any potential future clients and their watches, Eric's Clocks & Watches should consider just sticking to servicing clocks and swapping batteries. read more

Eric and his son David restored my clock which had not run for a very long time. It was a clock handed down in my husband's family, which apparently no one wanted. Eric told me it was over 100 years old! These wonderful, hardworking, conscientious gentlemen got my clock running, perfectly. It is a beautiful clock that I'm enjoying more than I imagined I would. The pendulum, the tick tock, and the striking of the chime every hour and half hour is so comforting. No electricity, no digital anything...I love it. I bought a GUCCI discontinued watch and there was absolutely no way I could have serviced it or bought parts for it at the Macys store. I would not get anything movement related serviced here, partly because of the sales pressure/attitude and partly because they're probably just a small shop with not a lot of experience with more vintage pieces with quirky movements. I got a bracelet sized here - no issues. I wanted to test out if they can handle a movement/battery issue. But a simple battery change turned into disappointment when they couldn't get my watch to run (they didn't have the right battery) and that I should leave it so they could find out what was really going on. Then when I wanted to take the watch with me, I was told that the gasket was done for and the movement was hard to service, probably damaged due to the gasket messing up the movement, and probably not gonna make them any money to repair it. Got the job done at Timeland in Century City. Simple battery change (they had it readily in stock) and they salvaged the gasket too. No gimmicks or attitude. Didn't have to leave the watch for a week or more and they got it done in 20 minutes. Watch works like a dream. Always have backups that know what they're doing: Timeland in Century City and Time-Tec in Downtown are great. Update - The response was typical of the treatment received here. Makes you feel like you're inconveniencing him. Notice how he didn't answer the question about why my watch works now. He just could not do the job. Stick to cuckoo clocks, bud. Plenty of friendlier competitors out there that can get a job done. read more

I walked into the shop today with my watch, which has been losing about 5 minutes per day. I assumed something mechanical was wrong with the watch, but David, who seems like a really nice guy, looked at it and concluded it was just a dying battery.
