Excellent service - excellent job - even did a little extra touchup, overall an excellent experience. One of his guys stayed a little extra late (510pm), because they closed at five - to make sure I got the truck in on a Monday night so they could start it the next day. I needed work done to my axle/wheels/under fender area. When I got my car back the axle boot was torn and leaking and tires were not balanced correctly, which made my car shake anytime I hit 50 MPH. When I called them, the worker literally said "yes sometimes they don't balance the tires that great" so they know their work is subpar. I came back and had them replace it, yet the axle boot is still leaking so either they just don't know what they're doing or they lied when they said they replaced it the second time. I called to let them know (left a voicemail) and they haven't even bothered to call me back. I will not be giving them a third chance to touch my car and will be going elsewhere, even if that means I need to pay again. Would not recommend them for anything other than basic body panel work. read more

When we wreck, this is our go to spot. I have had the unfortunate pleasure of being a customer at Erich's over the last 11 years or so. Unfortunate? Yes... because it means the Purple People Eater (my Honda Civic Hatchback) was involved in an accident. The staff here are wonderful and friendly. They are super quick too. Most recently, my then boyfriend wrecked our Honda right before Thanksgiving... and right before we were set to drive to Texas to visit his family. Thankfully, Mom was able to lend us her car and Erich's fixed my baby up and kept her safe until we returned two weeks later... no problem whatsoever. Most insurance companies work through them. We had Allstate and we didn't even need to have a separate appraisal with the company... they went right through Erich's. Customer service is clearly something that is very important to them and it shows. Even though this is not at all close to where we currently live, I will always take my cars here to be repaired. read more

Buyer Beware! They don't take credit cards and with me they forgot to mention that fact until I came to pick up my car. Had to Uber to my bank to get cash. Who doesn't take credit cards. Seriously. Work was fine but I would never have had them do the work if I had known about their payment policies. read more

This is a review in response to my 2nd time @ Erich's Lehigh Auto Body. They did a GR8 job on my Honda Accord last year. We had spent many hours shopping around for a body shop that we could trust. My wife's family has been loyal to Lehigh Auto Body for more years than I can believe. So, my in-laws said "Take it to Lehigh" and naturally I wanted to take it anywhere but Lehigh Auto Body. But after spending way too much time with idiots on the phone, I did take it there. To make a long story short. They did a fabulous job. We were very pleased with the outcome. Henry took care of most of the details and the finished job was a masterpiece of craftsmanship. Well, I wrecked my wife's Explorer going out for Chinese food and a movie on a snowy day recently. So this was vehicle #2 for Lehigh Auto Body. I thought for sure that this experience would be less than the 1st we had w/them. I got hit both in the front and back. Yeah, I was "sandwhiched". My wife cried when she saw her Explorer wrecked. She swore that she didn't want it back after the significant damage and I WAS THE BAD GUY (in her eyes... wrecking her baby). So, I'm telling Henry, ...."You gotta help me get outta this." Henry and the crew @ Lehigh are masters of their trade. First, Henry takes care of most of the details. I didn't have to call all those people at the insurance co, that DON'T want to talk to me in the 1st place. And he kept me from having to MAKE and TAKE a million+ phone calls in regard to our claim. Whew!! Good job Henry. And his crew put the Explorer back the way it was. Let me tell you, I had to drive the wrecked Explorer over to Lehigh Auto Body 'cuz my wife did not want to even look at her wrecked baby. But on the way home, SHE DROVE and couldn't wipe the smile off her beautiful face. I am a happy man again. My kingdom is better now and once again I am the king of my castle (according to my wife). Stopped by recently for a quote on my drivers door which I damaged while it was opened against a brick wall. There was no damage to the window or the lock or the door mechanism. Initially, they wanted to quote me for a replacement of the entire door. When I balked at that, they asked me how they were supposed to straighten out the panel. I suggested maybe they had a tool for it, and he said there was no way they could get the tool around that part of the door. He ended up dropping his quote to just replacing the panel instead of the door after my objections. He didn't seem too happy to do it, and maybe the job was just too small for him to be interested. I ended up taking my car to OASIS in Skokie. Their quote only cost 60% as much as Erich's did for replacing the panel, or about 40% the original cost of the whole door. Somehow, they were able to straighten out the panel just fine - the car looks as good as new and I didn't waste money buying new parts when the old parts could be fixed. I only stopped by Erich's first because I've driven by that place my whole life. I've never needed an auto body shop before, so I had to go into somewhere blind. My only guess is that they're only interested in bigger work, and maybe straightening out my door was too small of a job. They did seem quite busy while I was there, although they finished my quote in only a couple minutes. read more

I had All State as my insurance carrier from 8 years ago when I brought my lexus rx 330 here for a front passenger door repair which was badly dinged. Erich's Lehigh did their job so well back then and I could not even asked for a better service. Workmanship was excellent, time delivery was as promised, and cost was as stated on the estimate (which was very reasonable). Fast forward to date, that same work repair job started to corrode from the inside weld. Since I decided I would be keeping the car for a long while, I thought about addressing the slight corrosion build up that starting to appear from the outside. Called All State claims to see if this corrosion is part of their lifetime warranty, which was given to me through Erich'sLehigh when I got the car 8 years ago. And yes, it's part of the lifetime warranty. Needless to say, I brought the car back to Erich's Lehigh for the repair again (mind you, this is a corrosion that would infect all metals given the time). They provided me with a loaner while car is being repaired. Re-work was done as excellent as the first one, at no charge. Even took care of a long key scratch I have on that same door panel. Can't say enough positives on my overall experience with this auto body shop. Special Thanks to Carol and Henry for an excellent service. And I think that's a lot coming from someone who is not easily impressed by any sort of services given to me specifically auto services types. read more

I have brought cars there before to get repaired and work was decent. My last experience not so much....brought my car in to replace a bumper and upon further review, the paint was nowhere close to matching. Had several people point it out to me upon bringing it home, so I know it wasn't just my personal observation.....took the car back and got nothing but lip from the estimator. Tried telling me that you can never match paint when painting plastics. WHAT? Obviously a lack of quality control there. How can my neighbors point out that the color was totally off and they could not? To make a long story short, this family business agreed to repaint the work but not worth the hassle of repeated trips and having to rent a car while they hold it hostage to fix things right. read more

Worst body shop in cook county. Took my Trans Am there for repairs. After painting, put "Trans Am" letters upside down, in wrong place and spelled wrong. (Tarns Am). Seriously? Go look at the other side for reference! Put directional tires on backwards. Forgot to install light bulbs. Neglected to attach interior panels. Spare tire attachments glued on. It goes on and on. Several weeks later car is still not right. Find a different shop. read more

I just had my driver's side mirror repaired there & I could not have asked for more efficient & quality service. Initially i got a quote in 10 minutes (very fair pricing, by the way), had them order the part & got my car back in 1/2 a day.Also, quick & painless check-in & check-out. The paint also need to be matched to the rest of the car - they did a great job. What really impressed me the most, though, was how they went above & beyond. They buffed out a side door panel that I thought needed to be replaced (it looks great now) & took some of the mirror paint to cover a scratch in the back. All this at no charge!
