After a few failed attempts of trying to find a good massage spot in my area, I decided to drive out further and give this place a shot. I booked a 90min massage with Nicole and it was pretty much everything I've been wanting this whole pregnancy with prenatal massages. The set up of the massage table and pillows helped me stay very comfortable laying on my side during the massage. The temperature wasn't too cold or too warm for me. Her pressure was perfect for me and she concentrated on the areas that I wanted focus on very well. The music was relaxing and there was very minimal conversation which is huge for me. Truthfully, I find it hard to relax and decompress when I'm roped into conversations and I start to feel anxious with holding conversations when I want to enjoy the silence. Even pre-pregnancy, it's really rare for me to experience a massage without minimal conversations. I even got to doze off a few times because I was so relaxed! Her hands are truly healing touch. My body felt great afterwards. There are two parking spots reserved for the Blue Lotus Office and free parking next lot over if the two spots are full. While it's kind of a drive for me, I am so happy to find a place that can provide top quality massages! read more

I'm so glad I came to Equilibrio Massage! I've been coming monthly since 17 weeks, and in my 3rd trimester with all the shifts in my body, I've felt the importance of maintaining full function. So many massage places I had gone to and loved before simply did not have the training to focus specifically on healing for mamas. A lot of places take what they do and remove what they *can't* do out, so I'm left with feeling like a lot of my needs were unaddressed. Not so with Equilibrio. Hannah works magic. I love the care in asking specific questions about how my body is currently doing, delving into things like how my pelvis is feeling, how I'm sleeping, any cramping or pains, and then even showing techniques that I can do at home to care for myself between visits. The cushioning system makes *all* the difference. I can lay comfortably on my side fully bolstered, my shoulders aren't crushed, my hip doesn't feel pressured, and my waist and belly and supported so I don't feel like my spine has hammocked / sagged in the middle. Hannah takes away all the stiffness in my back and neck as baby gets heavier and my sleep patterns and positions have to change and works out all the swelling in my legs. Here visiting a friend in San Diego and was generously gifted a massage with Destany today. Wow! I've had a lot of massages and can recognize when someone has "the touch". Destany has such caring hands. I could really feel the soul in her touch and felt such a great vibe from the first introduction in the waiting area. The room was spacious, clean and well appointed. The massage table was equipped with special pillows for side lying. Destany also added more pillows to rest between my legs, a pillow for my growing baby bump and an additional pillow to rest my arm. I was 100% comfortable. She used what felt like a salve for the massage medium and I left there not feeling greasy in the slightest. I've been seeing Hannah for prenatal massage throughout my pregnancy and I can't recommend her highly enough! A lot of massage therapists will say they can do prenatal massage, but few are actually trained and certified in it, like all of the therapists at Equilibrio Massage are. This gave me a lot of comfort knowing Hannah knows the exact spots to touch, pressures to apply, and safe ways to move my body. I am in love with this place. I have been my weekly massages with Janice since I was about 31 weeks pregnant. I am trying to go weekly as my job also puts extra strain on my body on top of my pregnancy. She has really changed my life. My constant body aches, neck and back knots are taken care of every time I see her and she really puts a lot of effort in her massages. It's been very difficult for me to find a masseuse being pregnant because they're are afraid to touch me due to my condition. I am so happy that I found this place and Janice. I bought the prenatal package for six but I will definitely coming post partum for my overall well being. Janice was our instructor/massage therapist on Valentine's Day! I purchased the prenatal massage with instruction and my wife LOVED it! It can be hard for an expecting father to find ways to be supportive of his pregnant spouse and this was the perfect way for me to do that! Janice was so much fun to work with and my wife was in heaven for the entire duration of the lesson. Janice advised us what lotion to use, how to arrange the pillows, what pillows to buy... everything you can think of to spoil your wife at home! We will be returning for a lymphatic draining session as the pregnancy progresses to help with circulation, and I will be receiving instruction to do this at home as well! Had a prenatal massage a while back with Tianna and I can't recommend coming to Equilibrio Massage enough! Unfortunately just realized I never posted my review I'm was 35 weeks at the time and was on the fence about getting a prenatal massage for a few reasons, mostly because this is my first pregnancy and I wasn't entirely sure how I'd react to it with the changes my body has gone through. But I'm so glad I did, and I'm even more glad I chose Equilibrio. The booking process was so painless. Way more straight forward and quick than I have experienced with other massage studios. The studio itself is super clean and inviting with convenient parking, which can be rare in San Diego. The massage table was all set up with very comfortable bedding when I arrived and the lighting and music was already set and relaxing. It also smelled so good, the lavender scent wasextremely soothing Tianna did a great job of making me feel comfortable and relaxed. Since it was my first time at the studio and doing a prenatal massage she made sure to explain the process to me and make sure to answer any questions or concerns I had. Before we even began she asked about pressure levels and any problem areas I was more concerned with. She continued to check on me and make sure I was comfortable after changing positions, made sure the pressure was at a good level, and reminded me to breath and relax. I have been going to Nicole almost every week for six months now, and I love it! Tomorrow is my day. I can't wait! First of all, she has HOT SHELLS! I am cold a lot, so these are so wonderful. I love it when she busts them out! Her massage is just really dreamy. She hits the perfect balance of sending you to a state of deep relaxation and working out knots in the muscles. I sometimes fall asleep for a few minutes. I always leave feeling like I am walking on a cloud. Is this what heroin feels like? She has a great space in a nice and friendly wellness center in Hilllcrest. I almost always am able to park in the provided lot, and the few times I haven't been able to, there were spots on the street right in front. A big plus in that neighborhood. My problem with some massage therapists is the scent of the oils/lotions. It can be really offensive to my sensitive schnoz sometimes. Her oils/lotions are pleasant to me. As a person, Nicole is friendly, interesting, and smart. I enjoy visiting with her. Also, she is very well-trained in many different wellness areas. That combined with her many years (10, I think) as an independent massage therapist explains her expert work. I know she specializes in pregnant woman, and as I am neither, I am even more impressed with her massage. One more cool feature, they will give you a confirmation call or TEXT (if you choose that option) the day before your massage. How cool is the confirmation text?! As a personal trainer who works out a fair amount, it is important for me to have someone else do work on me to re-energize myself, both mind and body. She always made me feel comfortable (as comfortable as possible with a belly full of people) and listened to what I needed. I had the Divine Momma massage with Marissa. Everything was amazing. I told her where I had pains from the pregnancy and she made sure to specialize on those areas. She also showed me and my husband some stretches after the massage to help me relieve the pain. I've been seeing Nicole for bodywork for almost two years and couldn't recommend her more highly. She always asks great questions about how my postpartum body is feeling and spends extra time on the areas where I need it. Today was my first experience with Nicole at Equilibrio. I was very happy to find a practitioner that specializes in prenatal massage. I had one very bad experience in the past with my first pregnancy about which I communicated with Nicole via email in advance. She reassured me (as did all the wonderful Yelp reviews) that I would be in good and capable hands. The space is peaceful and inviting. Parking was a cinch. Nicole sent an email in advance with helpful information about directions and parking which I appreciated. I was able to fill out a brief health history online prior to my arrival so that this did not take away from my session time. The massage itself was divine. I like firm pressure and many therapists are not comfortable performing this on pregnant women. I was comfortable and felt completely pampered from start to finish. Nicole did some really fascinating positioning with pillows and I can say with confidence I have never felt more comfortable during a massage in all of my experience with this type of service. I even came away with some great tips to increase my comfort with sleep positions I'm excited to try tonight! I bought a package to see me through the remainder of my pregnancy and Nicole was so sweet and told me that she was having a special start next week and offered to give me this pricing in advance. She certainly was not obligated to do that and I probably would never have known the difference. I value honesty and finding a massage therapist this wonderful is no easy task.
