I'm not sure when this cafe opened but I am obsessed with the location. We got two different lattes. The autumn spice latte was not good. It didn't taste like anything so save your money. The Habibi latte was very tasty. It was unique in taste and was not at all sweet. The service could use some work. The employees made us feel like we were bothering them. My friend and I got the strawberry cream cold brew. It was extremely bitter , even after we asked the barista to add more sweetener to it. And it seemed like the cream doesn't mix nicely with the drink. It basically just dissolved in the drink and we couldn't taste it. I also kind of had concern about the barista fixing her hair/ playing with it , just seemed unsanitary to me especially when handling beverages. My coworker & I stop for coffee everyday at Equator and have yet to have a negative experience. Always very thoughtful, hospitable, & hardworking staff. My coworker has had many of their food items and they always slap no matter what he gets. He was almost moved to tears today by the flavors of the breakfast sandwich. Thanks for a great experience! Stumbled across this little coffee shop not knowing it was new. The baristas were so friendly & helpful, taking their time to answer all of my questions regarding their drinks. Decided to get their seasonal special raspberry chocolate cream cold brew & it was delicious! It had the perfect cream to cold brew ratio (for me) so I wasn't left with just cold brew at the end. Folks try Reborn or other coffee shops... Stay away from Succulent as well..... 1) The front red head girl was about unsociable as someone can be....so made it no different than gas station coffee. 2) Coffee (Caramel Latte)....was about as non-impressive as gas station coffee with coffee mate added. Very cute space, easy walk to the beach from the cafe. Baristas were friendly and gave excellent recommendations on what I usually order elsewhere. Service was fast, food and drink were excellent. The cafe does fill up with people very quickly though as seating is extremely limited... but that's to be expected for a beachside cafe. They also had a limited special for a pour over that would donate funds back to the coffee grower's community for each order - It's always very cool and nice to see a business using their platform for good. This place is a sleeping giant. So far I've had a flat white w/lavender and a iced vanilla latte, both were really impressive. The baristas were friendly and happy to talk about the origin of the coffee beans and everything else a coffee enthusiast is into. They have a few tables inside and if looking out you can clearly see Catalina Island through the window. read more
