Both times I have been there, I was greeted promptly by the owner. He was very friendly and upbeat. While I was starting to get my tips removed, the owner suggested that I take advantage of a pedicure, as I was going to have to soak my nails for a while. I hadn't planned it but it was $54 total for a gel mani and pedi, with the removal of my tips. On both occasions I have had technicians that do not talk much, but they are friendly enough. Kevin, the owner, makes up for that. He tries to talk to people. They do have a small, sweet little dog that has free run of the shop, so if you are afraid of dogs you might not want to go there, but I am totally a dog person so it is fine with me.

I decided on a whim, to treat myself with a gel mani pedi today. It's the very time that I ever had…read morethis done, so I have nothing to compare it with other than my own experience going to PBA to become a cosmetologist in the 70's. Recently, due to back injuries, chronic pain and arthritis, I have been having trouble with doing self care like hair and nails. My hands just are too arthritic, so I've been going without. Old caregiver here. So, this was real treat, being on the other side of care. I got the full mani pedi and gel nails. The massage chair was wonderful. They had soothing music, a tv playing beautiful nature sciences, and to surprise, it was not super chemical smelling. I was concerned about that. I just let myself be guided and cared for by the young man. Now as far as salon hygiene goes, I would have preferred that techs don't ever go to register while with clients, but I really could not say if anything was wrong with that. I would have like information about how the to care for my gel nails, but I looked it up online. I plan on going back again in fact, I'm booked for a facial and mani pedi the day before my wedding anniversary. I'm sure if I sampled all the many nail salons in my area, I could have many different kinds of experiences with the employees and the business itself, but they are right next to my new hairstylist, so I'm returning with pleasure. I may even have my hubby go too as an anniversary present. I felt special today. That's exactly what I wanted and needed out of today. They delivered that. Artist and gentleman!

The only thing was, not being familiar with going for these services or anything very being here, I was kind of confused. The biggest thing was when I was done, nobody came to ring me up, but they didn't explain how to pay and leave a tip on their tablet they used for payment. When I tapped my card, it completed the transaction. When I go back, I'll know for next time, but if they had someone take a minute to show me, I could have known how to use the tablet and tipping system.

Amber was very understanding of what I wanted and I told her that I didn't want super long nails and I wanted a shape that complimented my hands. I informed them at the time of the appointment that he has moderate dementia. Also asked when I made the appointment if they'd trim his brows and was told yes. When we walked in I asked the stylist if she could also shave his chin since he has five o'clock shadow and his hair is coarse making it difficult to shave him with a razor. She agreed. He got the buzz cut - not the greatest - but nothing else. The stylist brought him back to the reception area and told me she couldn't shave him because he wouldn't lift his chin but cleaned up the sides. I was incredulous as nothing on his face was trimmed. I asked her if she could at least trim his brows. She got her scissors and a comb and trimmed the middle of his brows and told me I could do this at home. Poor experience, no effort made by the stylist to satisfy the client's needs.
