I recently brought in an e-bike from…read moreanother manufacturer (GO Power-Explore) and they refused to fix my flat tire giving me a song and dance about legal liability issues and difficulty in dealing with a rear wheel motor etc... So I managed to get it home and changed it myself. I just wish I hadn't bought the replacement tube from them. I got and email from them apologising profusely which is nice and good business practise. They did state that in the future they will repair my non-Trek bike providing I sign an agreement releasing them of all responsibility if they screw up. So I am bumping them all the way up to 3 stars.

I was so dissatisfied with my experience at Trek today I downloaded Yelp to write a review…read more The clerk (not bike knowledge god like they think they are) snatched 2 different objects out of my hands while I was holding them either reading the box or comparing colours with other products and took them up to the till. Presumably this has something to do with Covid precautions, which makes little sense as I had already touched the items with my hands. He is wearing the same rubber gloves he used with the last customer, has no face mask and was ok hovering right next to me while I looked at the shelf. If a customer not handling products is the procedure, post it on the wall and greet them with it or explain that. Do NOT snatch items out of your customer's hands, then walk to the till with it assuming that I am going to buy it. Covid is not an excuse for having zero interpersonal communication abilities and grossly high pressure sales tactics. A message to the staff at Trek: you never know who you're talking to, and being condescending toward a more highly qualified mechanic and cyclist than yourself is not a good way to earn repeat business. Remember that you work in retail sales and are no more special than a sandwich artist. Also remember that grabbing things out of people's hands is rude and shamed upon even for toddlers. I will not be returning to buy even a valve core from these nimrods, and I am going to make it my mission to spread this experience with my family and friends in the local bike and dirt bike community.

I might have mentioned the chain was acting up - I don't get it serviced often enough - and perhaps they could check it and replace it if necessary? Got the bike back but didn't use for a few months. When I did, chain was waaay worse after spending nearly $100 than before. Like it was falling off the derailleurs even more than before. By a lot. To top it all off, chain straight out broke a few days later. When I went I complained, they replaced the chain. Not that much apology, no indication how they missed it in the servicing. And, as far as I could figure full price for the chain and service in doing so.

Excellent customer service!…read more Used a Groupon for a major tune-up, and was charged a reasonable amount for other services that needed to be done. The mechanic was very thorough in explaining what needed to be done and why, even while there was another customer waiting. My bike was ready a full day before scheduled pick-up, and I got a phone call telling me so. The mechanic also asked me to return in a month to assess the new speed cables on my bike. Seriously blown away by the level of service, and this is the third Vancouver shop I've taken my mountain bike ('97 Brodie Infinity) to be serviced. Definitely a fan.

Worst customer service when you rent a bike…read more They gave me a malfunctioning bike telling me to not change the gear, in the middle of stanley park my chain get out place, I spent 15 minutes trying to fix that piece of junk, and had to walk a whenever there was an uphill part, when I come back the rude manager (Sahba) started saying he wants full payment or else I would not get my government issued document back while I was trying to explain what happened with this bike. Having spent most of my time trying to pedal a bike with a skipping chain, and walking a good part of Stanley park with a bike beside me from the middle of the park, you think a person with common sense and experience walking around Stanley park would know that it takes a long time to get back to the shop on foot. If you ever have a problem with this shop all they want to know is that they are getting paid in full no matter what happens, the staff is not what you would call helpful. If you pay 2 or 3 dollars more all the other shops nearby will give you a much better and newer bike, as well as a proper customer service. Avoid having a terrible experience, no wonder it is cheap.

At sixth shop, here, Reckless bike, they had welcoming attitude to me and I was glad to be treated as a customer finally. After some conversation, they offered test ride and I decided what I want at second test. I have checked the price from bike maker's website in advance and this store's bike pricing seemed normal. As it's small shop, some bikes are hanging from ceiling. I hope you can find what you want.

Mactalla has a crazy owner named Ross who is a rip off artist!…read moreAfter spending 900$ on a parts swap for a road bike,I went in today to get brake pads for brakes that I bought from Ross & noticed that he took the old brake pads from my previous brakes(shimano) & put them on the brakes that he sold me (Campagnolo)the Shimano ones were worn & making noise,I realized the campy ones were ceramic, but he never told me that or that he was going to remove just the rubber on the old Shimano brakes (worn out)& put them on the campy brakes & he kept the ceramic pads,I went in today willing to purchase new pads & asked if he could put the old pads back on the Shimano brakes,he freaked out & told me to leave the store then grabbed me & tried to drag me out of the store...I initially resisted then saw a cop car outside the store so I let him pull me out to report this,Ross the store owner not only stole the ceramic pads on the campy brakes,he removed a innertube from my other front tire I left there,he tried to keep a 100$deposit I left there initially & never mentioned it or added it to the final bill around 900$ he's terrible at communicating, overcharged me then physically tries to remove me from the store after asking for my brake pads that he took then I'll leave...I outweigh Ross by about 40 to 50 pounds & know how to fight!
