They have offered to reimburse me for medical expenses. The comment below from the new owners is accurate, and it was a relief to hear the changes they are making when they called me. It's been an about a month, I've thought long and hard about this post. On Monday, June 17th I dropped my dog off at daycare. A place he has been going (and loved) for years. At 1pm I got a call from the employee there, saying that my dog was attacked, and that I needed to get him immediately, and bring him to the vet. They thought he had 1 wound.. he had 3 (3 bad ones, but I keep finding scabs from others). He ended up with 10 staples, an oral antibiotic, and injection antibiotics for 21 days. This happened on a Monday, by Thursday I knew something was very wrong and took him back to my Amazing Vet. The wound that they didn't staple (they try not to close dog bites because their mouths are gross) was infected beyond what the oral antibiotics could handle, and had become much worse. They were considering surgery to remove the infection and close the wound... Thankfully they tried another route first, and the injection antibiotics did the trick. He is still wearing a shirt to protect the wounds, he is still on anti inflammation medication, he is still recovering. Playtime Pet Resort (formerly Play All Day) in Exeter, does not have a bite policy. And, because my baby tried to run away from the dogs attacking him, they do not have clear video footage of the attack. They say they can't identify the dogs that attacked him (the vet confirmed it was more than 1). They attempted to placate me by saying "it happened right at the feet of the employee"... unfortunately, the other DOGS (plural), were not expelled. Those dogs that attacked mine are still there and there is nothing I can do about it. Please be aware. My boy loved it there for the last 4 years (split between Hampton and Exeter). I loved the convenience of them being in town, and picking up a tired dog at the end of the day. However, he will never go back. It is no longer a safe space for him. Please read all reviews for this business AND Play All Day (Exeter),before choosing the best place for your dog. I hope this will prevent any other families from experiencing an "incident" like this.

They also said they did transport to the daycare facility and boarding on occasion. It seemed perfect. I should mention that there are Kara's pet care facilities in Portsmouth, Berwick, and Falmouth. First I was asked to set up a meet and greet with one of their associates at my home so she could meet my pets. It took me many tries to get through many unreturned phone calls, but finally we did set up the meet and greet and that went well. Then I was asked to set up an app and an account before we could actually schedule any dog care. So I set up the app and the account. Then I was asked to drive my dogs to their facility to see if the dogs would "be happy there." So I drove my dogs 25 minutes to the facility. When I got to the facility I was told that they were supposed to stay there for a day assessment and then I should come and pick them up. This was not communicated to me earlier, and I had not budgeted an extra hour of driving back-and-forth. Then they would reschedule the assessment and they would come and pick up my dogs for the day-long assessment. All before any dog care could be scheduled. So, still not on the calendar. So to summarize: you need to go through a long process of scheduling a meet and greet, then you need to have the meet and greet, then you need to sign up for the app, then your dogs have to be assessed to see if they will be happy. I'm just thinking that anyone who's busy enough to need dog care is too busy for this multilayered, multi-step, poorly communicated process where phone calls, texts, and emails are returned only about half the time.

" I know this is inconvenient but..." - never an " I'm sorry..." . No remorse. All of this just days before our vacation when we were counting on this service. All because she had an offer for dog walking. at the same time of our 30 minute orientation appointment. we couldn't believe a business owner would decide hmmmm should I cancel the appointment with the client who is giving me several days of business next week or should I tell this other person that I can't walk your dog at that time but I can come 30 minutes later...? LOL. To do that once is bad enough. To do it again 3 days later - the day before the rescheduled appointment __ is just laughably bad business. We were fed up and canceled her. i can't comment on what anyone who works for her is like because we only dealt with Kim even though she wouldn't be doing the actual pet sitting. She's unreliable, rude and unprofessional and hides behind email replies even when you say please call me. INSTEAD, WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND USING The ROVER app to find a local verified RELIABLE pet caregiver to come to your home or to take in your pet while you're at work or on vacation.. we're VERY happy with the pet professional we found on ROVER who is also local and are delighted to give them out repeat business. A silver lining after the nightmare that was Kim. when I explained why we were canceling her services she just deleted our account instead of emailing and apologizing. LOL That should telll you everything you need to know.

She was incredible and the service was impeccable, personal and so much consideration and love was shown to my furbabies (bunnies, cats, dogs). Dr Mahoney cared for and helped us make final arrangements for 5 of our beloved animals that had all lived long healthy lives. We were disappointed upon her retirement, however, as fate would have it when our last lab needed help crossing the rainbow bridge Dr Mahoney happened to be covering for vacations...I think my Bailey needed her comfort and compassion. As new ownership has taken over we were initially satisfied with the attention and care of our pets. However, there have been mistakes which we took in stride, canceled last minute appointments, which we understand, things come up, but recently we were treated with such unprofessionalism over ordering our heart worm medicine online that we have decided to change practices. Customer service is everything and when the face and voice of your business does not have it, its very unfortunate.
