So I ordered 3 sheets that I needed to have cut in half. I put it in the options of what I needed. And even called and was connected to someone in the ware house to make sure they could cut these. Well they got here today and they are not cut. So I called to ask why they where not cut. And the lady says I was not charged for cuts which she says would cost $15.00. No where when ordering did it say anything about being charged for cuts or when I talked to the warehouse guy. The sheets where only $7.00 each and they want $15 to cut them in half. Which if I was at least told about would not be so bad. But I WAS NOT told. I would NEVER order from them again read more

I am stuck with 1 star because there is no zero or negative .. I purchased some Acrylic glasses about 3 months ago and recently two of the four shattered inside the base .. I sent a nice email to info@eplastics on May 22 including pictures showing what had happened ..no response.. I called two times.. they refused to connect me to any manager or supervisor.. finally after a third call and staying on the line for 30 minutes I was forwarded to a salesman who wrote me thin inane email telling me not to use the glasses for acids or leave them in teh sun or they will craze.. you know those tiny lines that form in acrylics as they age.. I replied with more photos and gave the information on how this all occurred .. Their big response is to refund to the card I used at purchase .. No offer to replace.. no interest in what is very obviously a manufacturing flaw .. no human response of any kind .. The receptionist refuses to give out management email or phone number .. they don't even call back when you leave a message and number .. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED .. I am just flabbergasted and amazed at how horrid they have been to a reasonable and thoughtful concern from me .. Just to add insult to injury .. the refund was for the glasses only but did not include the shipping .. can it get worse ?? read more

I had a previous review where I rated them at 2 stars. This was for an order that was not processed until I called. They contacted me afterwards and offered free delivery and a rebate. the delivery was on time and complete. I could not amend my original review. read more

Wish I could give negitive stars, but so is life The best (only) good thing about ridout plastics is the scrap bin!!! Only use if you find exactly what you want or need or are able to cut yourself. The plastic was cheap, the two part adhesive seemed expansive but they are the experts. But $15.00 to make one 10" cut?????? My ass is still burning. But they are the experts. But what made this worse was taking almost 40 minutes to make the cut. After 30 minutes I called the store and asked to speak to the manager. The girl answering the phone (who refused give her name) refused to connect me without the invoice number. Then after several requests to speak with the manager she just put me on hold for five minutes. Then when she returned. "Invoice number"?????? So i broke down and gave in and was told manager was going to the will call. And low and behold when he arrived someone checked the bin and it was sitting there done. But how long did we stand there with none of the employees asking or giving a shit if we needed help. So to ridout plastics give 10 points for the scrap bin!!!!!!! -5 points the rude _ _ _ _ _ (with no name)who answered the phone -5 points to take 40 minutes to make a 10" cut ( but they are the experts) -5 points to the employees who don't give a shit that customers stand around for 40 minutes (cause its not there job to care) So, overall I'd give Ridout plastics a rating of WORTHLESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (BUT THEY ARE THE EXPERTS) read more

You know, everyone says this place is too expensive, but I have been going here for years for my work because it's just down the street from my office. Today I called to order two pieces of 8-1/2 x 13" acrylic squares to replace the doors that had cracked on the popcorn maker my husband and I donated to the school band (cost just over $200 for the machine when it was new), and Ridout wanted $35 for materials, $15 for labor and tax. Over $50 for two 1/8" plastic squares? Are you kidding me? They've not only lost my personal business, but I'll take my work business somewhere else too. read more

Last week I bought a 4x4 sheet of 1/4 inch acrylic for a 120.00 today I went back and bought another for 137.00 called to find out why and didn't get a good answer. Also found out I could get the same thing at another place for 92.00. Last time I dealing with Ridout read more

Terrible service! We gave this company some dimensions for round plastic tubing and they sent us a bunch of unevenly cut oval garbage. We explained that the product did not match the dimensions that we requested, and they told us they would have to charge an additional amount (another $1000.00) in order to make the product to our specifications. Strange how they did not mention that they could not make the product properly in the first place. So we are simply out $1700.00 dollars due to the fact that this was a "custom item" and is considered nonrefundable. On top of everything else the customer service representative, Travis was rude and completely unhelpful. I will never order another product from this dishonest vendor. I recommend avoiding them at all costs. I suggest going with Regal or Port Plastics for far superior service and comparable if not better pricing. read more

Went into this place because I was looking to build some fish tank dividers and possibly ask around for information about types of plexiglass glue, but when I got into the showroom, no one acknowledged that I was there, the floor person was helping one guy and I decided to wait, (yes he saw me waiting) and when it was taking a while (10 min), I turned the corner to look at some clear pipes, and then he proceeds to talk to another older gentleman that just came in after me, the salt in the wounds was that they knew each other and he was picking up an unrelated order, they weren't even talking about buying plastics. Just about other random stuff. So since I needed a sheet of acrylic i decided to buy from the discount bin and walked away feeling raped... Guy at the counter seemed annoyed that I took him away from something else because he had to throw my sheet on the ancient scale that they had. Maybe I have to be a big contract customer to matter or a big spender? needless to say I will not return. read more

WOW - just got a quote for them to manufacture something and they were 2.5 times(!!!) more than the last place I called.... Seriously - no thanks. read more

Can't believe the shipping is over 200 dollars when I just got a whole greenhouse with the glass sent . That went through many states for free. Your ePlastics is a joke and I will never order from you again. read more

This company has horrible customer service and is very deceptive. If you order online, they don't tell you the full price and then, after the order is in, send you a bill for more money. When that happened to us, I emailed them for an explanation. I got a very rude email back saying I had to pay it or my order would get cancelled. At that point I didn't have time to find another company so just paid it. The product was the correct sizes and the quality was just ok, nothing great. We will not use this company again and I would suggest finding another company. read more

Ridout did a great job on our order! We ordered some pieces to be made for my work and they not only turned out perfect, but the price and the time it took to get them made was amazing! We couldnt be happier with Ridout! Way to go guys!! read more

I found Ridout Plastics (ePlastics) on the internet and was linked up with Travis S. at Ridout, who worked with me over the course of a few weeks to effect a repair on a chipped lucite statue that I had purchased on eBay. Travis was unfailingly patient, responsive beyond all expectations, and, most importantly, suggested various ways to effect the repair at different price points to meet my needs. The repair itself was done perfectly. You cannot even tell that the item had been damaged. Perfect in every way. I give Ridout Plastic (ePlastics) five stars and Travis S. an additional star for his professionalism, patience, and creativity. This place is a great find. Excellent work. Would not hestitate to recommend for anyone needing quality repairs and service. * * * * * + read more

These guys really saved me. Was looking to replace the windshield on my boat and the orig window manafucturer was out of business and the boat manufacturer is on the east coast and to have them do it was really expensive and time consuming. The guys at Ridout knocked it out in about a week and it fits great. Thx guys. read more

I saw the poor yelp rating and was hesitant t purchase from them. They were the only online source fro what I was looking for and I had no time to shop locally. The price was reasonable and shipping was typical and reasonable. I placed the order got a email confirmation and later that day shipping confirmation. The product showed up in less than a week and the product was as expected. Excellent service and I will do business with them again. read more

I am a facilities director at a nearby university. Twice over the past few weeks I needed to do a walk in to pick up some materials I needed for signage. And both times their system was down and they had no way of processing orders. They have no back system nor do they have a printed version of their inventory. This is really bad business practice. I don't have a lot of extra time on had to make multiple trips. If you're a local customer, you better call ahead of time before driving down there to buy materials. read more

First rate experience! Robert and Daniel in Sales were very knowledgeable and helpful. Robert in CNC gave great technical advice. Will definitely be buying from them again in the future. read more

I had them build a custom piece. The representative was great. He was incredibly responsive and actually made me change what I wanted since they were concerned that I would have problems with it down the road. They delivered it on time and it was exactly what I needed. I will go back to them every time I need another piece. read more

Where do I start? As a college student, having any budget for an unfunded engineering project can be very tight. We have a team of 14 people working on a very sophisticated system which requires a lot of moving, and electrical components. Unfortunately, our engineering department's laser cutter broke, and using metal is not an option. Too bad our engineering department doesn't have enough funding because all proceeds went to building a Starbucks in West Commons. ePlastics, just like some of their materials, are very flexible with their price and time. I talked to a wonderful woman, Marie, whom helped me out with the issues I had! My team will be able to have the parts just in time a week before deadline, which gives us enough time to iron out some issues. The people there are friendly, professional, and incredibly helpful! I will do business with them in the future! read more

I purchased a few custom ABS reptile enclosures from what I thought was a reputable builder and was disappointed to find that they had both arrived damaged in shipping. I contacted John at Ridout and he told me to bring them in. He went over the scope of the repair (they were supposed to be welded by the builder, but were only epoxied at the seams) and he gave me a very fair price on what was essentially a complete weld and reinforcement job. I am very pleased with the work done by Ridout and would recommend them to anyone needing repair or fabrication of their plastic items. read more

I've been using Ridout Plastics for 20 years and I can tell you all the negative comments are from lookie lous or tire kickers, that think they are in a .99cent store. This is a professional Plastics operation, not a Bed Bath and beyond. If you want to be pampered go to a SPA. Ridout Plastics does what they do and do it better than anyone else in Southern Ca. It's frustrating to read negative comments from people that are used to shopping at Walmart. There's a saying - You can have 1) GREAT PRICE 2) GREAT SERVICE 3) GREAT PRODUCT, but you can only pick TWO. When you geniuses figure out how to do all three let us all know. Also funny to ready negative comments on one of the largest Plastic re sellers on the planet and a half dozen negative comments compared to the tens of thousand customers they deal with every year. If you want work done right and you want to deal with a pro, this is the place. If you want your hand held, go on a date. read more

My story. Ordered window film from website on 10/11. Email received in 10/12 stating item was expected to ship on 10/14. Was billed on 10/15 and order status showed received and pending fulfillment. 10/22 contacted company and was told the item was on backordered and to cancel and credit my funds. Great, I have customer waiting and they billed knowing the backorder status. 10/23 email received stating item shipped. 10/30 no delivery, no tracking#. Today 10/31 see a credit was issued. Customer service and website are terrible. Save time and money and order at a more professional company. read more

I found Ridout Plastics on the Internet after searching and calling around for a good plastic/ acrylic place to help with a project. Their prices are very fair coupled with the fantastic customer service and willingness to work with the customer, I knew I had found the place for all my plastic and acrylic needs. Without a doubt, we are definitely willing to work with Ridout Plastics for all future projects. read more

I've been a reluctant Ridout customer off and on since the 60's. Sometimes they have what I want at a price which is too high, but which I'm willing to pay because I want it now. But from day 1 their attitude toward customers, especially ones who don't look like they are going to be spending a lot of money, is uniformly abusive. The overall attitude is "hey buddy, this isn't a lumber company, this is PLASTIC". The fabrication quality is usually good, but the attitude toward customers and the way they run the store is bad. Avoid. There are other local plastics houses in San Diego. read more

I worked with Chris Davidson on producing a new plexi display case for a very large ship model. Chris was most helpful and the end result came in on time, at a reasonable cost and a quality product. Cases for these large wooden ship models are hard to find if not impossible and if you can find one they would be custom made. Chris worked closely on the specs with me and delivered and it came in hundreds less than any other quote I could find! Good work Chris and ePlastics! read more
