Super helpful staff very knowledgeable about the parts that they have and what they can get

Talk to Rick :-) nicest guy and super knowledgeable. This location has plenty of parking, very clean, organized and has a large inventory of parts. I came in for preventative maintenance items and other parts for a Speedaire compressor. Rick helped me out and had 95% of the parts I needed in hand. The last two parts were at will call Monday morning by 8am! Overall amazing place and one that I plan to visit again for tools and parts to keep my garage running. read more

Oh Grainger, what would the world do without your overpriced industrial supply store? I come to at least once or twice a month for work related items. Grainger is pretty much an international mega corporation which specializes in industrial supply of anything you can think of for contractors and businesses. Like I had mentioned before, their mark up on items is massively huge, a power tool that you buy here could cost twice as much than the same model at Home Depot. But since my company has a Grainger account, I'm stuck coming here to get things. The Grainger at Raytheon road has taken a major turn for the worse, ever since about a year ago this location has got worse and worse with customer service. They are terribly understaffed because most wait times exceed 15 to 30 minutes for a simple will call ticket, this is completely uncalled for considering the price of labor to send a field person to pick stuff up is massive. The number ticket system does help a little though, although its still slow. Another issue I have with this Grainger is the lack of stock. Like most companies now, they don't want to pay inventory fees, so they stock as little as possible, relying on overnight deliveries to appease customers. This is not how supply stores work, having things in stock for emergencies should be what they're about. read more

Ordered retractable air hose on internet to be shipped to this location. Said it would be there Friday. No reel Friday, (Closed on weekend), not Monday, not Tuesday, not Wednesday. I told the Manager that FedEx showed it as delivered on Friday; showed him my phone. His reply, "FedEx lies." He gave me full refund. Bottom line, huge waste of everyone's time. Witnessed several other people come in with equally screwed up orders. This place won't be around much longer..... read more

Figured I would come back and be fair and update my review as they have abandoned their practice which angered me the last time.(now they do cash sales to individuals) However I cannot give them five stars due to their rather high prices. Other than that no complaints, bought a rivet tool recently, great service and no one else had this tool. After I got it home and used it I think I know why, but thats another matter. Needed a 24v transformer for my home HVAC and after spending a lot of time searching no one had it locally except for Grainger. I placed the order online and picked it up 30 minutes later! I was in and out in 10 minutes. Price was comparable to Amazon, Ebay, etc. read more

Horrible experience. I have been to this location multiple times and never had a complain till recently. Stay away from employee named Miguel, I believe that was his name. Waste of time. Spent about an hour on technical support for him to tell me they don't have what I'm looking for. When trying to explain what exactly again I was looking for, he was very rude, aggressive and dismissive. Not sure how someone like him could be hired at a big company like GRIANGER. Placed my order with someone else the next day at the same location within 5 minutes. STAY AWAY from him by all means. read more

How is this place still in business? Special ordered a Y-1 tri-point screwdriver on Wednesday afternoon by phone and was told it'd be ready for pick up by 1pm Thursday. Stopped by on Friday afternoon at 4:10pm and find out that they don't have it. Rick offered to track the item, but I decided to cut my losses. This isn't amateur hour. I drove 25 minutes each way to pick up this item. I do not recommend going here. read more

Grainger San Diego has lowered the bar to a new level. There is a prominently displayed paper number dispenser and marked queue when you enter the Store which means nothing. The Staff ignores that process completely and when a recognizeable Customer arrives they blast right up to the Counter passing whoever is waiting their turn. The Customer who was in front of me got so pissed off after watching this happen several times he threw his hands up, said " F it" and then went outside to phone his order in since Will Calls also take priority over whatever "system" they've adopted here. This is not my first trip to this Branch and I'm familar with how laissez faire the Counter help is-but seriously I am done shopping here. There is a photo of their Manager welcoming comments on how their service is but I decided my energy was much better spent on this review. read more

Although they have everything, they are understaffed and take an incredibly long time to get through lines of people. Also ridiculously expensive. Hate coming here simply because I dread waiting in these lines while I watch the people that work here simply flip through a catalog taking their sweet time. Most of us are working, need parts and item in a timely manner. This doesn't help. read more

Grainger would be fine if McMaster Carr wasn't 10 times better in every aspect but price. Grainger is usually 10-15% less expensive, but the hassle of finding what you need here vs. McMaster makes me go to McMaster unless I know exactly where to find something in Grainger. Also, their representative told me i could get stuff from their suppliers that was not in the catalog from the customer service people and they couldnt do shit. Disapointing, but the account representative is really nice, and they have good prices. read more

Grainger has a large supply of just about everything. You must know exactly what you are looking for. The counter people will not be able to help you with selection of parts and materials. Their prices are not good, but they usually have everything within one day drive. Ordering is easy by phone or web. Walkins, non will call, will be very slow. Non will call orders usually take 15 or more minutes in the store. read more

They make it easy to access all the products they have access to, and contrary to the comment at the bottom, the products that are not in the catalog. Some branches have more helpful personnel than others, and I find www.grainger.com the best and easiest way to access the hundreds of thousands products Grianger has access to. Fantastic customer service! Yesterday I went in with an enclosure box with a broken lock. I was trying to replace the box. When they didn't have one of the size I needed, they suggested simply replacing the lock. They then went to considerable trouble to put it in for me (no charge) at my request. My company has been dealing with Grainger for years. My dealings with this branch have always been great. Time in time out they've given me the utmost respect, timeliness & delivered what was needed no matter what. Typically I'm the customer that takes a ton of time at the counter since when something breaks its some bizarre part but the team always figures it out. Thank goodness!
