But to my very pleasant surprise, Dan told me that for such an easy fix, there was no charge!

I am no plumber, but these folks are, and they were gracious with their time, and explained it all, and provide options, pros vs cons, best practices, and did not once pressure me to make a decision. Mark, Eddy, and Mike did a superb job. They had no bias, and gave me all the facts and options to make my own decision. At the end of the day, I feel like I can trust them. Real pros. Arrived when they said they would, did what they promise and even more. Fantastic experience. If you want a plumber you can trust.. look no further.

I requested TE to come out and diagnose why an existing circuit was not getting power. Instead of…read morejust fixing the circuit, I agreed to a new panel for my house since it was 60 years old. The price I was quoted was over 12k. I felt the electrician on my job, Jason S. was very high pressure in his tactics and told me I needed to decide that day, or lose potential discounts. I had also been without a kitchen for over 30 days, so I agreed to the work. The next day Jason and an apprentice come out to start the job. They take one whole day to remove and replace the new panel, no problem. Here is where it goes downhill. On the second day of work, Jason and another apprentice came out and instead of prioritizing the circuit I hired him for, they start installing the hardwired smoke detectors Dekalb county allegedly requires. This took all day! By about 4 pm, I asked if he was going to get the outlet done so I could use my dishwasher and he replied "I guess if I stay here all night". I said I guess thats what you got to do then, and they were here til nearly 8 pm. Then he made several other unprofessional comments about staying late. Jason never came back to my job. A new Electrician came out on Monday, Jason said he had an emergency job. The part where they earned this rating comes when I found out my pool motor circuit was not working on the new GFCI circuit. I explained to them it originally was on a two pole circuit and now they had it on two single poles. It was drawing 240v and they had the model number and should have researched the wiring on their own as professionals. Rather than listen to me, I had to wait all day for the new electrician (with Jason on the phone) come up with a new quote to fix which included trenching up and re-wiring my entire pool, ANOTHER 5 THOUSAND DOLLARS! I was livid. I started looking into this and it turns out I was right, it just needed a 2 pole GFCI. I talked to the second electrician the next day and told him I want to talk to a supervisor or manager. I got a call later in the day from Jeffrey who was going to look into it and get back to me the same day. He did not. He did call me the next morning and agreed to send one of his best guys out to install a 2 pole and see if that solves the problem. Well guess what, it did! And, I didn't have to pay another 5K. I expected to hear back from Jeffrey again to ensure the job was to my satisfaction as you should on a service recovery. I did not. I feel lied to, and that I was robbed and almost taken needlessly for thousands more, had I not done my research which should not be necessary as a layperson. I understand from TE employees the Electricians control the cost, and they get a commission from it. Unfortunately, I paid for an electricians summer vacation because I trusted him. Luis L and Nathan the electricians at TE, thank you! Micah, Gavin, Phillip the apprentices, thank you too! Jeffrey I thank you for doing the minimum by ensuring what I paid for was completed. Jason, no thank you at all. You've sowed distrust in professionals and your industry with your practices.

The highlight: $800 saved with 5-minutes of work--maybe 10-minutes at the most…read more The long story... We moved our washer and dryer from our main floor to our basement floor, converting a washing room to a pantry for additional storage and repurposing some unused space in the basement. Win, win! Wife is happy, and things are totally worth it! Well to my dismay, the 240VAC outlet that existed in the basement was no longer connected (the joys of having a house made in '81). Knowing that the ceiling is largely accessible, the outlet is still very intact, and remembering a discussion with an electrician a couple of years ago that, "Hey, there's an additional 240 breaker here, and we could reuse that for your new HVAC unit," I assumed the work wouldn't be too difficult to hook up the new wire. But this discovery of an unfunctioning receptacle is on a Sunday. And I'm starting to feel congested because of sinuses. And I have to fly to California on Monday. And I still have to work out the presentation details before Monday, so I don't really have any more time on Sunday. So I say, "Let's call an electrician. Once they come out and give an estimate, if it's any less than $300, it's reasonable, and you should give them the thumbs up. They can just do the work while they're here." My reasoning: Time to drive to the house and do the work: $150. Maybe having to run a new wire all of like 25' - $100. Total: $250 + some buffer = $300. And whatever, the issue will be handled. We call Noor Electrical Services, which Google says is local, and the guy is SUPER responsive--answers on a Sunday, friendly guy, and he says he can come out on Wednesday. Awesome! Fast forward: I fly out to Cali. Wednesday comes; guy comes out; and I get a text that the work order is ready. They even emailed me a work order that linked to my specific job -- how awesome of technology is that! I quickly look at the work order--excited by the use of technology and these guys' professionalism--but then I see the quote for $849.16, "NM B 240V Circuit, First 50 Feet". To say I chuckled was an understatement. I immediately declined the work order, expecting some reply if it was declined but unable to step out of the presentation in front of numerous agents. Travel ends; I return home, open the panel, remove the dead front, and I see the previously ran wires. I flip the breaker, disconnect the run that is no longer being used, connect the old run, and flip the breaker back on. Voila! Power. If you are a professional that is good at what you do, you should get paid for your worth. However, if it doesn't occur that you should open the dead front and see if the wires are already ran, maybe ring them out ahead of time if you're unsure, you're not worth an expensive quote. Similarly, if you know what you're doing, and you know that the work is going to be 10-minutes of work because you did look behind the dead front... Why wouldn't you quote that work, get paid, and save yourself a trip back out to the site? Pictures of the panel and panel schedule, description that the wires may already be ran--these are things I provided ahead of leaving just to be as transparent as possible. At the end of the day, knowledge can clearly save you a lot of money, and I hope that I can find a local electrician that's worth their salt so that when I don't feel like doing the work myself and have the cash to spend, I can pay someone what they're worth. I see the other reviews; I know how friendly the guys were, and maybe this was a one-off, but in retrospect, this one fell flat and was disappointing. I would give 1 star, but the responsiveness and technology were awesome. I can't give more than two stars because the communication fell down at the end, and the quote is unreal.

So professional, so efficient and so kind!…read more On Friday night, a short blew out a receptacle, which took out about half the power in our house--very serious, since we work from home. Because of the smoke, we called the fire department; they advised us to call an electrician. We called a big name that night and never heard back. Saturday morning, I called Noor because of its high rating and promise of 24/7 coverage. They took the order, sent out Mohammed, who gave us a quote. He didn't try to upsell--in fact, he described the cheapest option first. Sunday night, he made the repairs. We will definitely be using them again!

Jack and an apprentice came out to do an estimate and did a thorough job of investigating what the work involved. They were both very friendly and easy to work with. Elijah and an apprentice came out to do the actual work. Scheduling was easy and communication was good. The actual work turned into a bigger and more difficult job than expected because of some crazy issues with the existing wiring. Some idiot who worked on our house before we owned it apparently fancied themselves an amateur electrician and had really messed things up. But Elijah was excellent and managed to sort everything out. Even though the work was more complicated and took longer than estimated, and even though they ultimately installed a couple more GFCI outlets than we thought were needed, Hi-Five refused to add to the estimate and only charged us that amount. They also left the house clean and tidy. The whole experience was really just excellent. Highly recommend!
