Called about the outlet for our dryer which had appeared to have shorted and melted a bit causing the dryer to malfunction. They were able to send people out next day, they were on time and courteous. They explained what they were looking for and seemed to do great diligence to make sure there wasn't a larger issue with the wiring or breaker. I needed to have my electrical upgraded in my house that was built in 1947. I had 5 breaker boxes for 2400 as someone in the past had piece mealed things together. I got several quotes and on the advice of my chiropractor called Jeremiah with On Call Electric. He came out and went over all the wiring issues that the house had and told me how he would fix it. He was the ONLY company that I called and got a quote from that did not tell me I needed arc fault breakers. Everyone else did. Jeremiah told me because of the age of the house, I did not need them because code did not require them and he said that actually putting them in could cause a lot of problems and would end up costing a lot more money. He was the only completely honest electrician that I talked to. His price was great compared to the others I had gotten quotes from. His crew came in and did a fantastic job. In a place in my basement where they had to take ceiling tiles down, they did so with great care and they cleaned up after themselves. They were there when the inspector came and ended up fixing 2 things I had forgotten to show them for free (GFCI in places in the kitchen that were tucked away). My light switch started malfunctioning a day or two ago. After a few tries to get it back on, it started buzzing, which didn't sound like a good thing. I opened the face plate, and since I live in an old home it looked like there was plaster all over the switch. That's when I decided I needed a professional. I trolled the Internet, and searched yelp to find Heather S' review of 'On Call, so I decided to call them up. After a couple rings Jeremiah answered and was very easy to talk to. I told him what the problem was and if he was available anytime soon. He informed me that usually he charges a minimum to come to my area, but since he was already close by, due to another job, he would just swing by and attend to my problems. He gave me a quote, but said it may be less after he looked at the job. Jeremiah was prompt and on time, very nice, and actually charged us LESS THEN HALF of what he quoted us for! Had a great experience with Jeremiah today. I called a few top rated electricians in the area, but no one could come today. I needed someone as soon as possible, because I was sitting in the dark in the kitchen. I spoke to him on the phone, he said he was finishing some jobs but could come out in the afternoon. He called me at 1pm, was at my house at 1:30pm. I showed him my issue and he fixed it in about 5 minutes. He explained that they had a minimum fee and offered to look at any other concerns. So, he checked out some other issues which had been on my list of things to do for too long. Fixed another outlet , set me up to replace the light in the carport and gave me a quote to put in an outside outlet. I would use them in a second. wow- sometimes things go really smoothly and you have to marvel in it! These guys are awesome. A few years ago they came to my home with their super size XL ladders and changed out some light fixtures. I was impressed with them then and still impressed with them now. They just came to my house today to install lighting- they were quick, thorough, informative, took the extra effort to keep added wire and chain available in case I wanted to move the fixture in the future. They put pads on the ladder to protect my hardwoods, and brought in their own broom and dust pan to clean up. They were efficient and got everything done in under an hour- even though on the phone they said it could take longer (I mean, what company does that? beats their quoted time and charges you less??)
