My AC went out on July 2nd, they came out July 3rd and told us they would be there to install on July 9th. I received a text and email confirmation. At 2pm on the 9th I called to find out when they were coming to install and the owner said that they were coming Thursday and had no idea why I received a confirmation beyond him telling me as well he was coming that day. When they arrived they displayed no customer service in assuring that I knew they were on my property or their game plan how they were going to get the unit place. The owner went to remove the unit from his trailer and did not properly unchain the unit causing it to fall off the skid steer and dent it. They also did not remove the tracks on the bottom so it would have a properly displacement of weight on the new pad. After speaking to the owner earlier that week I found him to be condescending and rude. He talks over me the entire time I tried to talk and ask questions so I can be prepared for his arrival. During installation my husband and I decided it to be best if he looked at it when he got home from work and dealt with him rather than me. When he came home we found not only the unit dented, but trash everywhere, sloppy installation, the unit not leveled, gaps under the damaged pad, and no p-trap installed on the drain but yet placed so that the runoff would erode the unit over time. They sent the owners son out to fix it twice. We told him to have his dad call so that we can discuss the damage. I refused to approve payment until that discussion. When he finally called, again condescending and talked over me. He said the unit was not damaged that it worked. I said you know what why don't you call my husband and you all discuss this, I don't appreciate not getting a chance to say what I have to say. To which he said he's going to put a lien on my house. I am fully prepared to release the funds but not for a dented unit. If you purchased a brand new truck and the dealer dented it, would you still take it because it still works? Horrible company, disrespectful towards women, not at all good communicators and display very poor workmanship.

After the home inspection was completed, it was discovered the existing units needed to be replaced. The seller replaced all three units (without us choosing the hvac company) middle of April 2018. The owner chose Lanier HVAC to install the three new units. We went ahead with the purchase of the house thinking the hvac units would no longer be of any concern with the exception of regular maintenance for awhile. (Boy, were we very wrong on such wishful thinking). We closed on the house on May 22nd. On June 18th, the flooring company we had installing new flooring in our basement discovered water in the floor of the basement, in which was quickly found to be from one of the new units installed by Lanier HVAC. My husband immediately tried to reach out to Lanier HVAC (since they had just installed the new units), but his calls were ignored. So, I then tried calling... The owner answered my call, I told him about the leak, he asked who the previous owner of the house was, after I informed him of the previous owner, he then replied with very harsh negative hateful words and told me he had absolutely no interest in checking the units or coming out, then proceeded to hang up on me. Not originally being from Gainesville, I was in complete shock that a company or owner would act in such a manner towards someone. I'm from a small hometown where customer service is a priority, so I called the local hvac company from my hometown to come out. Even though they are extremely busy, they made us a priority, understand the importance and the damage of a water leak. The technicians quickly discovered serious issues with the units. The basement and top floor units had no filters in them, the drains in the basement and middle floor were not hooked up correctly, no turn-ups placed in any of the overflow pans, the basement unit had no freon & the third floor unit had very little freon. They also had to raise the air handler, hook up the aux drain out of the pan, install PVC pipe and coupling on the third floor unit. I would highly suggest not using this company. We realize the owner is gonna try to dispute this review or come back with negative words like he has to everyone else that has left the company a bad review. We can back up our claims with documentation and also show the water damage of what happened from his company not installing or hooking up HVAC units correctly. We can't help but to wonder if this was intentionally done to us. The owner can't claim his company did not do the work or install the units, because it's recently been brought to our attention that he actually has pictures of our house / units posted on his personal facebook page where Lanier HVAC installed the three units for the previous owner in April 2018.

Other guys insisted I needed the cadillac of all AC systems to cool the upstairs and estimate came in at about 5X that of Hixon (yes 5X). Hixon nailed it, with exactly what I needed to keep large upstairs area nice and cool without any overkill or upsell. Enjoyed working with Mitch to assess issues with current A/C (and solutions to keep up and running), but in the end, decided it was time to replace. Mike G and Josh did the install and would highly recommend. If you want honest, professional, and no nonsense people dealing with your AC, consider giving Hixon a try.

Replaced compressor that was under warranty and it still cost $1700. First start in 2025 and no cooling at all. Was told I had no refrigerant. They said suction valve failed and things "just break" sometimes. Again suction valve was still under warranty and this estimate started with a cost of around $1200, but owner lowered to around $660 after he heard my frustration. Fine I paid and had the suction valve replaced. A month or so later when heat comes in late spring and system is barely cooling. Now I am told I have a failed TH valve. Again service manager calls and says things "just break" and he's doing his best to lower repairs to $1200. Ridiculous! When I called for the initial compressor failure I was just going to put a whole new system in but they convinced me not to because the compressor was still in warranty. Well now they have me up to just under $4000 and the system doesn't work any better. Go elsewhere and don't trust a company that thinks it's ok for things that are under warranty to just "keep breaking" before they finally fix something. AND DON'T TRUST THEIR WARRANTY!!!
