Kovack Mechanical Inc, was recommended to us for our AC issues. At first it seemed ok but after signing and financing it became a nightmare. My AC went out on July 2nd, they came out July 3rd and told us they would be there to install on July 9th. I received a text and email confirmation. At 2pm on the 9th I called to find out when they were coming to install and the owner said that they were coming Thursday and had no idea why I received a confirmation beyond him telling me as well he was coming that day. When they arrived they displayed no customer service in assuring that I knew they were on my property or their game plan how they were going to get the unit place. The owner went to remove the unit from his trailer and did not properly unchain the unit causing it to fall off the skid steer and dent it. They also did not remove the tracks on the bottom so it would have a properly displacement of weight on the new pad. After speaking to the owner earlier that week I found him to be condescending and rude. He talks over me the entire time I tried to talk and ask questions so I can be prepared for his arrival. During installation my husband and I decided it to be best if he looked at it when he got home from work and dealt with him rather than me. When he came home we found not only the unit dented, but trash everywhere, sloppy installation, the unit not leveled, gaps under the damaged pad, and no p-trap installed on the drain but yet placed so that the runoff would erode the unit over time. They sent the owners son out to fix it twice. We told him to have his dad call so that we can discuss the damage. I refused to approve payment until that discussion. When he finally called, again condescending and talked over me. He said the unit was not damaged that it worked. I said you know what why don't you call my husband and you all discuss this, I don't appreciate not getting a chance to say what I have to say. To which he said he's going to put a lien on my house. I am fully prepared to release the funds but not for a dented unit. If you purchased a brand new truck and the dealer dented it, would you still take it because it still works? Horrible company, disrespectful towards women, not at all good communicators and display very poor workmanship. read more

I am pretty sure they were doing something shady with the previous owner. My mother just purchased a house that had some AC issues and Kovack was sent out before their close date to "repair" the AC. They went out on 8/27/21, checked the unit, and said that the grills upstairs were closed and that was the only issue. They opened the grills and said that the AC was fixed. A week after my mother's close date, two weeks after Kovack went out to the property, the AC completely shut off. We had a different company, Elite Comfort Services, come to inspect as well as had Kovack go back out. Elite found damaged external wires, spliced wires at the unit, missing disconnect boxes, and a few items that were not up to code. The second time Kovack went out, they only gave us a report for the damaged external wires. Again, not a thorough inspection. How did they not see the damaged/spliced external wires the first time? Why did they not report the damaged wires to the previous owner for repair? Isn't is suspicious that the AC was not working, but opening the grills fixed it? They informed me on the phone that they did not conduct a full inspection the first time because they were not told to do so by the previous owner, but then turned around and told my mother's agent that they conducted a full inspection and nothing was wrong. So which is it? Was a full inspection conducted or not? If so, where is the report? This was supposed to be fixed before my mother's close date, and because Kovack did not do their job correctly my mother had to pay out of pocket for the repairs. We went with Elite Comfort Solutions because they conducted a full inspection and were very informative and knowledgeable. We did not trust Kovack to complete the job correctly and expected for Kovack to find additional items that needed to be addressed. I would not recommend their services to anyone. read more

I paid $11,800 for a Trane XV18 and for returns to be installed in the bedrooms one year ago. After 3 months the Thermostat locked up. I saw a Kovack truck at a neighbors house and asked them to take a look at it. That was in June 2021. They said the thermostat was bad and they would replace it. I have called over 8 times and left messages but nobody called me about this. Today it went down again. I called 2 time...no call back. I called again and got a message the phone had been disconnected. I called it later and it rang so I left a third message today and sent a message over the internet. They never called back. It is going to cost me $79 to get Jordan Air to come out They set up an appointment for this next Wednesday. This system was supposed to be warrantied by Kovack. The one person that did answer and I talked to was Hurt Stolz, P.C., Jimmy Hurt, an attorney. It has gone too far and I have completely exhausted all efforts in trying to Koack to repair this repaired. After Monday when I meet with the attorney, this becomes a legal issue. This is the worst I have ever been treated in customer service. I have to say that Comcast is better than this. read more

They installed my new Trane system We were in bad shape. We bought a foreclosure that had been flipped and the HVAC was trashed. The evaporator core was leaking and had leaked out all of the refrigerant. I got 4 quotes from different HVAC companies. Mike came in with a great system (Trane) at an excellent price. Much better than other Trane dealers. He is super knowledgeable and just a down to earth nice guy. It was clear who I was going with. The system was installed professionally and the guys cleaned up afterwards. I am extremely satisfied with the whole process. From quote to a nice cool house. Had a new Trane unit installed 2 YRS ago. Had problems within a few months, problems presisted for past 2 yrs. Each time a service agent game they would stay for hours , leaving with a shoulder shrug saying" well, it's working now" only for it to stop working again within weeks. For 2 YEARS we have been dealing with this. To the pint onthe last visit the service tech said he has no idea what the problem has been, that he's been doing this for over 20 yrs and this is one of the rare occasions that he cannot figure out, so he wanted to bring. TRANE Rep back if it happened again. We'll, it happened again. We called to tell them AC was out, we need the TRANE rep to come. 2 weeks later I have to follow up to be told that the Trane rep would not come until they had more info from KOVACK. we are without AC this entire time. Then KOVACK has the audacity to cancel the appt day of service. Without offering to come back until next week..going on 3 wks without AC. At one point they tried to say it was a due to the filter not being changed.. I took a picture of the filter,, it was practically spotless. Got to love when they try and turn it back onto the customer. Not ONCE did I receive an apology, a call from the owner who I THOUGHT took pride in customer service(that was part of his sales pitch). No customer service at all. No follow through. Do yourself a favor, find someone else. read more

Called and they said 'no problem, we can work you in the schedule today' ... Very professional and honest, quick and to-the-point, and most important of all they were on time. I would definitely recommend and reuse if we have other concerns with the HVAC. I might have them do a system clean in the bear future as well. Service completed: 4 units of freon added and a leak sealer was added as well. Cost was reasonable, approx $350 total. read more

Kovack Mechanical installed my Trane system (heat pump and air handler) in May 2019. The company serviced my system on 1 Aug 2022 and found that the evaporator coil was leaking. Since the coil was under warranty, I asked for an estimate. Once I got the estimate, I asked them to proceed. I heard nothing for several days. When I was able to get someone to answer the phone, I was told that they were trying to contact Trane for a replacement coil. Because it was so hot in my house, I asked them to do a temporary fix while waiting for the part, but was told that was not possible. I then asked for a breakdown of the quote showing labor, refrigerant, shipping and any other costs. I was told that that's not how they do business. After some back and forth with the owner, Mr Kovack, he told me on 8 Aug that since they were no longer a Trane dealer, perhaps it would be best that I find another company. The temperature in my house had been in the upper 80s every day at this point. I took his advice and found another contractor who found a new coil locally in Georgia, and gave me an itemized invoice that was $47 more than what Kovack quoted. The invoice showed labor, refrigerant, shipping (I had to pay shipping for the new coil, as well as return shipping of the old one), credit card fee, as well as the cost of the coil. Because the coil is under warranty, I pay up front for the coil, and once Trane gets the old one and verifies that it does leak, Trane credits the company, and they send me a check. Similar to a core charge. Kovack Mechanical did not mention the credit, leaving me to believe that they would keep that money, and since I didn't get an itemized estimate, I would not be the wiser. I am glad I took Kovack's advice and found a reputable contractor. read more
