The seat cushions on the sofa where our butts are planted for TV viewing had become less than…read morecomfortable. The cushions had always been a little on the soft side, but over time had become painfully so (at least for me). The sofa is less than five years old and the fabric is still almost like new (surprisingly), so all I needed were the actual cushions put into the same fabric. And, fortunately, the fabric is in the form of a zippered cover so stuffing a new cushion inside would be an easy enough (and inexpensive) upgrade. I found Special Effects via another site where they had all good reviews. I gave them a call, found that they do make sofa cushions, and made the (long) drive down there with my cushions. They aren't located in the grooviest part of town and trying to get to them from the freeway was somewhat of a challenge since I am not familiar with that area, but (eventually) I got there. I worked with the owner who suggested a grade of foam he thought I'd be happy with (based on my comments about not wanting something too soft) and he wrote up a work order for foam and down cushions. I asked about turnaround time and he said it should be about a week, maybe less. Great! A week later, when I had not heard from them, I called to get the status and he said that he was waiting for a shipment of foam and was expecting it in a few days. OK.... After another week of silence, I called back and spoke with someone else (who turned out to be the owner's wife) to find out about the cushions. She was unable to find the work order and asked me to describe the cushions (apparently her husband had to leave town for a family emergency so he wasn't there). Uh-oh. I was starting to get worried now. Anyway, to make a long story short, she knew the cushions I described and asked what type of replacement cushions were supposed to be made. After I told her, she said they would be ready in an hour! Huh?? Anyway, I drove back down there the next morning and picked them up, brought them home, and put them on the sofa. These cushions are fabulous! They are so comfortable and our sofa is like new. So I guess this is an 'all's well that ends well' kind of deal. I have a feeling that the misplaced paperwork for my order was an anomaly, but it did contribute to the delay of my job and added to my stress level a bit (since the fabric on the cushions matches another piece in the furniture set). I'd give them a '5' if it was for the work alone, but I have to deduct a point for the snafu. Would I use them again? Probably. They do nice work (I did see some larger jobs at their facility they had done). I drove my cushions down there because they fit in my car, but they do offer pick up service for those larger upholstery jobs. They also custom make furniture.

Crowley consumers beware Over the weekend I attempted to…read morepurchase Bobcat attachment from Anthony Armendariz a presentive of Lonestar tile and granite company in Crowley. I drove up from San Antonio to purchase the item and met him at his family's Lonestar Tile and Granite business location on FM-1187 shook hands with everyone and paid the agreed price to directly Anthony Armendariz in cash. There were other people there his uncle, his girlfriend who I had been communicating with and other workers. When I arrived, it was already dark and the item was already hanging from a forklift ready to load. It was late and I was in a hurry to get on the road back to San Antonio, so I quickly loaded the item and left and no point in our communication did anyone ever mention the item missing parts or being not functional. 5 minutes down the road I stopped at QT to fuel up and to check my straps as the items was big and heavy. While checking my straps I noticed the item was missing the main hydraulic control component. I immediately call Anthony Armendariz girl friend who is the persons I had been communication with, and she said that they were not aware that anything was wrong with or missing from the item and said they would be happy to return my money. She also said that there was some parts that possibly went to the piece of equipment at the business and I could go back and look at them. At this point I was pretty sure it was just an honest oversite, and the part would be found at the business, and I would be happy to take it with me and sort it out when I got home but not luck. The missing very important and very expensive part was not able to be found I then communicated this to Anthony Armendariz and his girl friend and they then stopped communicating with me at all. I decided that my best course of action was to unload the item and leave it there and with the hope that these people would do the right thing and return my money. Unfortunately I had to much faith in the honestly of the company and this family and they will not return my calls or messages. I am posting this because this is a family business and if this is how they operate it should be known to community. I am still hopeful that they will do the right thing but we will see and I will up date this if the situation changes.

It has a single lock. The window is a quarter inch smaller than the other 4 and the company told me it cant be fixed with 2 locks like all the rest. Now they are telling me they can change it at my expense. Wasnt my mistake in the first place and they should fix it. I told them I would be happy to put the old window frame back because it has the double locks but they wont return my calls anymore. Very bad customer service

They came out to "fix" and painted them and now you see the sheen through the paint and they look nothing like the steel doors I had before. The owner is telling me it's fine and that was the process and not a mix up in service orders. Even though it was 8 months later and the service manager told me it was when I contacted them the minute I saw it. Would not recommend this company that does not stand behind correcting their mistakes and telling you it is fine when you paid 80k.
