Friends of ours love Enzo's and get pizza from here weekly. It's not super convenient to us in South Durham, so I really never minded it. If I had seen the Yelp rating, I may have even looked past it which would have been a true shame! After helping said friend move, she of course treated everyone to Enzo's pizza. My husband raved about it (like, for multiple days) even pizza combinations I never would imagine he would like. I missed the big move and said pizza, but knew then that I had to try it. I loved the variety in flavors, sauces, and toppings on the menu. Their combos stand out since it's not the overdone, boring, or expected variations. I'm talking about garlic, ricotta, and hot honey people. Not standard, not easily comparable and I am here. for. it! Every bite is the most delicious flavor burst that you never want to end. I am done with this place. 1. Breadsticks not cooked, doughy and cold. 2. Did not get the extra sauce that I paid a dollar for. 3. Did not have the option to take the bacon off the Caesar salad so the assumption was made that they no longer out pork on a Caesar salad. 4. Called and was hung up atleast 8x. 5. Finally got through and the person was completely rude after I told him what was wrong and left me on hold FOREVER!! Needless to say I am finally ending my relationship with this place!!! My complex gave me a $10 gift card to eat here, and it was fantastic! The cost was a bit pricey, but I am also comparing the price to Dominoes, which is my go-to pizza shop. I had a personal size buffalo pizza and Dr. Brown cherry soda. I spent just under $10. The concept of buffalo pizza is strange, but it is delicious!!! We come down to Duke Cancer Center once a year for my appointments. About 3 years ago we found this gem! The food is always fresh, the pizza is amazing. Tonight we had the Rustic (we had it last year but it was so good we wanted it again). The pizza was hot and fresh, we were just a little disappointed that the onions were raw and not caramelized like they usually are. We have tried quite a few pizza joints and I have to say, I prefer Enzo's! The flavor combos are great and the crust is delicious! Our favorites: Grecian Goat - seasoned olive oil, cheese blend, garlic, kalamata olives, olive tapenade, Roma tomatoes and goat cheese All the Meat (ATM) - red sauce, cheese blend, pepperoni, ham, sausage, capicola ham and bacon East Coast Rustic - caramelized onions, cheese blend, fresh basil, fresh garlic, pepperoni, pizza sauce, roasted red peppers and sausage I really only have 2 'negative' points: 1. They don't deliver where we live!!! Then again, a lot of places don't so there is that 2. Everytime I come to this shopping center I am approached by someone asking for money. Went to visit a friend in Durham with my fam bam and since it was getting late, we wanted to go someplace that was chill, quick and easy! Off we went (based on my friends recommendation)! Very clean and laid back pizza shop where you can dine in or take out. It's located in a shopping center with several other eateries, but easy to spot! This place is setup like a traditional QSR, order up front, grab your drink cups and find a table (they'll bring your food to you). Pros - quick service, great tasting food, super friendly service and DUKE employees receive a discount (my friends a nurse!) Cons - our food came staggered which was weird as some had entrees while other waited. It wasn't too long of a wait, thankfully! What to order: the wings, side salads and pizza! "Gourmet pizzas right off Duke University's campus" Tired of the usual off-campus options by Duke? Enough Chipotle burritos, Chai's noodle bowls, and Green Tango wraps? Well, in comes a new option: Enzo's Pizza, which just opened a week ago or so. Tried it today for lunch, and it was very tasty. I liked the specialty pizza options: things like BBQ chicken (with pineapple & sweet onions), Grecian goat (with olives & goat cheese), Bruschetta, etc. You can even order "half" of one specialty and half of another. They also had standard pizza fare (meatball, olive, pepperoni, chicken, anchovy, etc.) and a few sub sandwich and salad options. Additionally, pizzas are made fresh and to-order. For example, you can ask them to hold the toppings you don't like off the specialty ones. However, this makes it a tiny bit slow- wait is ~10 minutes for your food, but the taste was outstanding. A little more expensive than nearby Brooklyn Pizzeria but definitely a step up in quality, in my opinion. Price was still reasonable: $6.99 before tax for a personal (8") specialty pizza, a little less for standard pizzas, and $5.99 for subs. The pizza was okay. We were dissatisfied about their crust. It was so greasy and couldn't hold up to the toppings. And the wait was almost triple the time the email confirmation gave. And the staff didn't really seem to care. I was ready to leave but really wanted to give it a try. Then later in the evening a random number kept calling my phone. Then they txt saying they worked with Enzos and wanted to comp a pizza. They then realized they were calling the wrong number, 8 calls and 5 messages later. And the calls were back to back to back. All while I was trying to get my newborn asleep. I definitely think they need to avoid mistakes like that in the future. read more

The cinnazos are amazing! $3.99 or (check-in for free ones!) and you get about a bakers dozen of cinnamon covered dough bites with frosting - think heaven in dough form! Looking to hit the pizza button while bringing Jordan to Durham for her internship. Yelp suggested Enzo's, it is close, and I was hungry. Enzo's is located within the Duke campus. Duke is in between sessions, so even on a Saturday night the place was empty. Empty on a Saturday night makes me nervous. We were greeted and ordered our food. Enzo's is counter service. We were given our drinks and a table stand number: 42. Good sign. The dining room is clean. The staff busy and there was a steady stream of take out. Also good signs. The pizza came out quickly as did our cheesy breadsticks. The breadsticks were really good. Dipped in marinara, it is like having cheese pizza as an appetizer. The dough on the breadsticks and pizza is soft, a little sweet and just the right combination of crunchy and chewy. I ate the entire 12" pizza. Jordan only ate a bit of her personal pizza. Hurray pizza leftovers. There is no beer, sadness. And I was too stuffed for dessert but I really enjoyed the pizza at Enzo's. And they deliver. read more

On point and delivered in the stated time ... We ordered, from downtown Marriott, at 1030pm (close to closing). I figured they would say we can't deliver this close to close, but NOPE they took the order and arrived 35 minutes later. The pizza was very good, a large pepperoni, cut in squares (not slices). The wings, garlic, were a dry rub type wing, very good and not overly cooked (as so many are from other places). The salad, even at night, was fresh and tasty. For a random chance as we were just traveling through for the night, we were pleasantly surprised at the quality and ample toppings. I have been to Enzo's multiple times before and have been very pleased, but this most recent time just wasn't good. I didn't recognize any of the workers from times before so they could have been new (this was on a Saturday evening) but I ordered 3 personal pizzas. One was undercooked and had raw dough when you bit into it, I also had a heartland pizza which is one of my favorites but whoever prepped this one was very heavy handed with the black pepper, there was so much pepper on it that it was inedible (entire clumps of pepper). Their actual food delicious but I've never had a positive experience with the employees or their delivery service. Employees are rude and I typically I wait 90+ mins for delivery. I'm about an 8 min drive so I truly don't understand why it takes them so long. I even try to order when there isn't a lunch/dinner rush but have never had a delivery arrive in a normal amount of time. Pizza is always cold and I have to reheat it. Customer service is bad too. They're really rude on the phone and unpleasant to talk with. In person they like to chit chat in the back instead of serving customers. For the cravings, it does the job. The thin crust personal isn't too bad. I usually opt for the harvest pizza since it has pretty much all the veggies and add chicken and basil. Compared to dominoes, papa johns, etc. This is definitely a lot better. It's not too cheese or crust heavy but still delicious and filling. I'd still recommend going to pompieri though for more options on vegan / GF pizzas. Stars down because I tried the gluten free crust and it was terrible.. felt like sponge bread??? Best pizza in Durham! I love that you can also get 2 flavors in one pizza. We usually get the large for the two of us (with 5-6 remaining slices), and generally get the combination of the Bomber and the Spicy Hawaiian. We have tried another flavor (forgot what it was) in place of the Spicy Hawaiian, but ultimately have returned to these two as our standard order. I love the crust for this pizza... buttery and crispy. Nowadays, I actually prefer more crust to topping ratio, so my favorite are the corner pieces (they cut the pizza into squares). I've never had a bad experience here, whether that's dining in or delivery. The pizza is always fresh and delicious. Eating in: you're served quickly and the restaurant is clean. Delivery: it's always been on time or early. All time hands down favorite pizza. Always hot and fresh delivery. We've tried almost every type of pizza but our faves are the MEDITERRANEAN and HOT HONEY HARVEST. The Mediterranean comes with Kalamata olives, feta and a slew of other toppings that just melt in your mouth and the crust is crispy but softly tender. The Harvest has so many's good toppings and a finishing of spicy hot honey. We order from Enzo's about every week and I love them all. Great delivery team and customer service. We typically get our pizzas in 20 minutes. We love the salads too. A large salad feeds the two of us and the ingredients are always fresh. No wilted lettuce. The pasta and sandwiches are great too! So nice to put your feet up and enjoy a really good pizza that's really hot and crispy with fresh ingredients. This business deserves a good applause. read more

The pizzas were all so unique. From buffalo chicken to barbecue to basic meat lovers, they place great emphasis on quality AND quantity of variety. I have consistently ordered their specialty pizzas, each of which have their own distinguishable flavor that leaves you reliving the initial experience every single time you eat the flavor again. They also offer wings, salads, and other food items that complement their pizza well. My only complaint is that their standard pizzas are cut into squares which lead some slices with too much crust and some without anything to grab onto. There are a slew of restaurants in this strip mall. Most of them are average, fast food style restaurants. Enzo's bucks that trend. From the outside it does look like a typical chain. Meanwhile, it's much better than you'd expect. They actually make the dough on-site from scratch daily, and all the toppings are hand sliced as well. For example, the chicken comes in fresh daily. They chop it in the back and cook it on site. Nothing is frozen like many of the typical quick style pizza chains serve. The atmosphere is upbeat and the service is good, but you came here for the pizza. The pizza is slightly better-than-average and more than affordable. They actually cook it once you order it rather than having a bunch of slices on hand. While you are waiting you'll see a bunch of pizzas going out the back door as employees at Duke constantly order from here. They do so because the pizza tastes good and isn't greasy as you would normally expect from a place like this. And from the time you order you'll realize that the employees here actually care about every piece of that goes out. They take pride in what they do. Another thing, don't be shy about ordering a salad. They actually make the salad once you order them rather than having them prepackaged and selling them at the counter. The dressings are also made here rather than something purchased from a food distributor. We also tried their Cinnazos. While I was doing my best to keep my figure my buddy ate the entire plate of them. They're an awesome dessert loaded with calories and they taste amazing when you dip them in the frosting that comes with it. Enzo's pizza aromas often permeate the UPS next door and the parking garage behind it, and yesterday I succumbed and split a 12'' pizza with a friend. We ordered half of the pizza with Veg Out (spinach, mushroom, red peppers, artichoke, onions, green peppers, olives) and the other half with the BBQ Chicken (bacon, onions, pineapple, chicken). My favorite is definitely the BBQ chicken here! The service was faster in the restaurant than it was last year when I last dined here and our pizza came out in less than 15 minutes. Portion size, the 12'' pizza was perfect for 2 people; we almost couldn't finish our last few slices because we were quite full. Check in on the Yelp phone app and you get a free order of the Cinna-Zos: baked dough tossed in cinnamon and sugar, served with icing. The perfect way to end a carb-heavy lunch is with more sweet carbs! I've also tried the Tres Amigos pizza as a takeout from Enzo's before and loved the avocado and salsa verde that comes on top. As a frequent traveler who spends 120 days a year on the road, I like to hit every pizza place in every town I visit. I love pizza and lived just outside nyc for 6 years. First the good on Enzo's, the toppings were good and fresh and the pizza was hot, but besides that this is not any better than your run of the mill chain pizza places. The sauce is too sweet without any of the acidity tomato taste. It was almost like eating a dessert pie. I expect to taste a real and somewhat robust flavor of the sauce. The crust which to me is the foundation of a good pie was uneventful and a little doughy tasting. I probably would not eat this pie again as there are much better options available. Your pie or Maddios are much better for a chain. read more
