Up until the install period, my experience with Environblind has been very positive, and this was a company I would recommend to my neighbors and friends. Salesperson Erik was great to work with. However, here are the litany of issues I've experienced since. ⁃ Envrionblinds provided a two day installation period of 12/12 through 12/13. However, just 2 days prior on 12/10, I was notified this needed to be delayed. I had forgone an important year end work trip in my Headquarters in New York that the week of 12/9 and our company holiday party due to the initial timeline given. I was willing to forego the trip as security is the most important issue and I wanted to get the shutters installed before I left for vacation on 12/20. ⁃ The installation then became a 4 day event, when I had originally requested 2 days working from home.I was told today (12/18) that they need to come back 12/19 again. ⁃ The worker who came on 12/17 walked all over my house with his muddy shoes, and left mud prints all over my wood flooring and carpeting throughout the house. He used the toilet and left the toilet seat up. This is quite upsetting and disrespectful. ⁃ They left window in mater bathroom wide open when they left, instead of leaving it how they found it. I had alerted them to close all doors and windows so my indoor cat would not escape. - I am still waiting for last window to be installed. It was postponed twice now, and still being told the truck with materials on it is delayed again and again, with no firm date set. This is just an open ended delay with no firm date set, no accountability. I told them I need advanced warning so I can take time off from work to be home. "I am not sure what the reason for the delay is but I should have more information on Monday. Once I do I will contact as soon as possible so you may make your accommodations for work. " how do you not know the cause of delay? Can you make a call? Especially when the owner said it was still scheduled for this week just yesterday. Sales and product seem ok. This company is FANTASTIC. I called so many companies in Los Angeles to have a shutter door installed for my business; all of them would just not respond to my need of a shutter door. I guess they didn't need the business! Erik Browning took wonderful care of my business even though I was "out of commission" having a baby. He came to take brief measurements and provide options. Then once I confirmed I would like to move forward, a 2nd appointment was made to confirm the measurements. It took about 6 weeks for the shutter door to be custom made which is very reasonable. Service was awesome. Guys came into install this over 5+ years ago with some customization as I wanted the roll up shutters on the inside rather than on the outside. Product is poor. The motor went out and I got it replaced for $1400+ today. I used it 6-8 times per month over the years as my garage was the main entry point. I wanted the shutters for security as my entire front facing storefront is exposed. I do not recommend this brand as the motor doesn't stand up to time with little use. Eric, one of the Southern California representatives, is GREAT. Honest, personable, knowledgeable. I was recommended to Enviroblind by two separate individuals, one who had had it installed many years ago, and another who had used the company but for a bit of a different solution than we were needing, but through Eric, who they also liked. The first referral, a friend, was very happy with their product. We signed a contract for the product for about $60,000 and placed our deposit. However, something intervened having nothing to do with Enviroblind. We cancelled. They were perfect gentlepersons about it and handled the deposit issue and the contract issue and the cancellation with perfection. Also, a note on one of the reviews I read on this sight - I do not personally think it reflects proper decency or even logic to say that someone was very happy with Enviroblind but found a competitor product for less, one that the review itself says was inferior and state that the value of the superiority of the Enviroblind product does not warrant its greater expense. There are so many variables with a different company and product that to compare in a review the product to a separate company is absurd - will the company be in business when the warranty needs to be serviced? is the product so inferior that it will not last as long or serve its purpose? How much is the value of superior quality? Is a Rolls Royce "worth" the dollars it costs more than a Lexus? Is this a capitalistic country or communist country? Enviroblind = Class. $125 / hour was a little pricey for the installation costs, plus the $180 cost for coming out? Now one of the shutters isn't working right and it's been less than one month. We got a free follow up fix becuz this happened within 90 days of install. They came out and fixed the problem quickly, so that was nice. One year later and another shutter isn't staying open. We didn't even use this one very much. The apparatus just isn't very sturdy. I'm sorry but I have to lower the review to 3 stars. read more

I purchased the Gaurda Security Screen, manufactured by CR Laurence, from Enviroblind. They told me how secure and wonderful their product is and sold me the whole bill of goods. Shortly after the installation our house was broken into. NOT through the $280 Security Bars on the windows, but through the $2,000 Gaurda Security Screen by CR Laurence. Please review the pictures above, they really speak for themselves. So after the break-in I contacted my salesman Artie Fisher (who by the way made ZERO effort to help me with my problem and all but disappeared after the break-in) who got me in contact with James Fraizer (the GM of Enviroblind) and Dale with CR Laurence. I asked for a refund because the door is garbage. James Fraizer refused (because I posted a negative review about my experience with them). I informed him I would issue a charge back to my credit card company and he all but dared me. He said go ahead and make a charge back, I'll come at you with so much you won't stand a chance. The credit card company asked me to get a second opinion on the door with regards to the quality. I did, I got two. Both companies stated that the door is manufactured with poor quality materials and is not meant to withstand a prying attack. Long story short, the credit card company sided with me. One interesting thing I should mention is that Dale with CR Laurence told James with Enviroblind that I must have broken into my own house (from the inside). I mentioned this to the two companies I asked to come out and give an opinion and both companies stated that the door was broken into from the outside. BUYER BEWARE!! Buyer beware. If you are thinking of putting Enviroblinds on your home as an improvement and then decide to sell the home - unlike all other fixtures and appliances in a home - the warranty DOES NOT transfer. We purchased a home with Enviroblinds on the windows. Within a short 2yrs, the shutters already required service repair. I called the company who informed me their 3yr warranty does not transfer and the cost for repair is $225/hr. Considering I already had 2 windows in need of service, I was looking at $500-$1000. "Methinks not!" I am a real estate agent and well versed in the transfer of real property. I work in a community where the median price point is $800K. The staff was nice but not quite enough to salvage the sinking ship. I was shocked to find Enviroblind offers such a poor warranty. I used to speak highly of the product to my clients and neighbors when asked about our shutters. Not anymore and never again. Considering the recent market conditions of short sales and REOs, I think their warranty program is a detriment to their business and consumer. Poor quality product met with bad business practices. It honestly feels like they are using this loop hole to their advantage. When we first bought the home we loved the shutters and couldn't believe more people don't have them on their home. Compared with Sunsetter shades through Costco it's more than three times the price (also motorized). Background - we purchased 3 motorized shutters for large door openings approximately 10' wide by 8'-9' tall. Sales (5 stars) - Erik was great. He was well presented, on time, and not pushy at all. He also worked hard to address my concerns as I drilled him and later others at the company about some of the negative reviews. I even reached out to the reviewers to hear their side of the story. In the end, I felt comfortable and went with them. There are not too many companies out there that provide this product, and all of the pricing was comparable. Ultimately, the communication, support, and willingness to address negative reviews sold me. Coordination (4 stars) - Lisa was great at communicating during the entire process. Scheduling appointments for final measure, install, and post install support weeks in advance and following up day before and even day of if they were running late. The only hiccup was coordinating between sales, order, and manufacturing. I had ordered shutters with an auto stop feature, but upon install, they forgot to put that feature in (discussed more later) Install (4 stars) - Initial install was good. It took about 3/4 of a day and they explained everything as they went along. I was poking around and watching every so often. The installer even offered other (better) install options not previously discussed during the final check measure. The only hiccup here was that when tapping one of my outlets for power, they jogged a wire lose (causing some outlets to lose power) and stripped a junction box. I didn't find out until they left and I tried to close my garage door. The original wiring wasn't that great, so I'm not too bent out of shape about this. It was a 15 min. fix for me to rewire. The stripped box was a tougher fix, (discussed later). All in all, it was very clean and they left our house better and cleaner than when they got there. Support (5 stars) - The support visit was to put the auto stops on the 3 shutters. The guys were quick and nice. Again, they didn't mind me poking around, they showed and demonstrated the feature to ensure operation, and they left the house clean. Extra points for them helping me fix that junction box problem. They had a special butterfly anchor and together with a slight modification to the box, the outlet is solid again. Usually with a 4.5 average I'll round up to 5 stars, but I'm going to keep them at 4 stars because it did require an extra day off work to make sure the shutters had that auto stop. All in all, I'm happy with the experience and have no problem recommending them - at least for the regular motorized rolling shutters. If you are looking for other products or configurations, do your own diligence. I can say, the people were nice, helpful, and seemed to really care if the customer is happy. read more

Lou Barrazza is the Man for Enviroblind--(5 Stars)!! He was the sales rep who help me customize the shutters and blinds that I needed for the front of our house. The installation was more challenging than expected due to the structure in front of our large 10 foot sliding doors -- on the second floor. Regardless the technicians worked long and hard to make everything work. After installing I noticed that light was still coming between the blinds and where it was attached to the house. Our wall was not perfectly straight so that made sense; however, I knew if it didn't get taken care of that water would come through the top during a hard rain. This was a concern, because that was the primary reason we had them installed, due to previous water damage I had without the shades. I notified Lou of the problem and he responded immediately. The technicians returned to seal the seam. However a few hot weeks later, the seam opened back up. I called Lou again, and again he responded immediately. I presented the problem and sent pictures, and finally he worked it out with his operations manager to add a flashing to the top. At no extra charge, they came out and added the flashing, and now the problem is resolved. The blinds was a really good solution to protect from rain, but more so, we added the sun shade as well, and I realize how much cooler it is in our front room. I also know that we are saving on electricity because we did not need to run the air-conditioner as much as we usually did in the past. I know my story sounds very laborious, but the main thing you all need to know is I'm finding that A. Enviroblinds puts out a quality product B. Very good customer service and holds their end of the deal. We are now protected from the long sunny afternoons beating on front of our house and the rain and wind as well. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because I think that there could have been better communication between myself and the engineer who did the measuring. My thoughts are that they built the shutters out further than they should have. So for anyone who uses this company, which I highly recommend, please make sure you are very clear on what you want with measurements and distance between the shutter and the window / doors. Also, even though Lou was awesome and responsive, and made everything work-- I ultimately expect that they should really improve on quality control and make sure they have a lead person inspect and make sure there are no open seams to begin with, which was my case. I'm also hoping they use my case as a lessons learned, and add flashings to shutters that have no awnings above. Anyway I am a fan of Enviroblinds. They put out a unique product, and the automated shutters are awesome. read more

I would not recommend this company. The salesman came out looked at the job said no problem. I had to have some custom brackets welded to mount the blond to. I had the welding done$450 I called for final measurements the field supervisor came out made some lame excuse that he needed "special tools to do the measurement correctly." He left, I received a phone call a week later stating they could not do the job and were charging me $180 trip charge from my $1500 deposit. Several phone calls, text and threats of a small claims action, they refunded my deposit in full. I contacted accent awnings. We purchase the Enviroblind shutter 5 years ago, I sleep days as I work nights, Before we purchased the shutter my husband tried everything but he could not find a solution to block-out the daylight for my bedroom.
