After quickly using the bathroom, I was seated and ready by 12:09, but my service didn't actually begin until 12:41. I understand salons get busy and appointments can run behind, but no one acknowledged the delay or gave me any idea of how long I would be waiting. I was simply told to sit and wait. I wasn't given any polish swatches to look through during that time either. I eventually had to ask someone for them myself, and then once someone was ready for me, I felt rushed to immediately know which color I wanted. Considering I had been sitting there waiting for over 30 minutes, this easily could have been avoided by giving me the swatches while I waited. Once my appointment started, the service continued to feel pretty lackluster. The person doing my nails was frequently looking at her phone and seemed preoccupied throughout the appointment. Overall, there just wasn't much attentiveness or communication. There was also confusion when it came time to pay because my ticket wasn't rung up correctly. I questioned why the total was different from what I was expecting, and there seemed to be confusion about what I should have been charged. We eventually got the correct total figured out, but there wasn't really any acknowledgment or apology for the mistake. I completely understand that I arrived a few minutes late, and I take responsibility for that. However, starting my appointment over 30 minutes after I was seated with no acknowledgment of the delay, then feeling rushed after waiting, combined with the lack of communication and attentiveness throughout the appointment, made the overall experience disappointing. The actual services weren't necessarily the issue for me--it was the overall customer service and lack of communication. A little more organization, attentiveness, and acknowledgment would have made a big difference.

Waunakee is an upscale community and I expected an upscale experience but received the exact opposite. I was welcomed into the salon as the first customer of the day. I had arranged for a dip manicure and a pedicure but they were unable to accommodate them at the same time so I had a dip mani in the morning and a pedicure in the afternoon. I'll start with the dip manicure. The lack of color choices for dip should have been my first clue they don't do them often. There was only a handful of choices for color but they did offer to put a shellac color over the top. This is quite unusual. I've had hundreds of dip manicures from salons across the country and I've never had shellac over the top of a dip. Isn't that counter intuitive? My manicurist was Sandy and while she was nice, however the conversation going on in the salon was off putting. The owner, Marlo and another manicurist were treating some regulars and the conversation was not what I would have expected in an upscale establishment. They were talking about "tits" and "squirting breast milk" in a garbage at a concert. Now I understand if you are speaking with people you are comfortable with but you must be mindful of other customers in your establishment. I went for a relaxing experience and this fell quite short. Back to my manicure, Sandy put a clear top coat of Shellac over my dip nails and told me this was their policy. The Shellac did not dry properly and was "wrinkled" on the top when Sandy finished which caused her to have to redo two of my nails. I left the salon to return that afternoon for a pedicure. The minute I got outside in the daylight, I noticed that 6 of my ten fingers looked terrible. I can honestly say this was the worst dip I've ever experienced. My husband actual suggested I go back to my normal salon and have them fixed but I waited since I would be returning that afternoon for a pedicure. On my return, I was the only guest in the salon. I pointed out my horrible manicure and Sandy did agree to redo them. She blamed it again on the bad Shellac but honestly the dip wasn't even filed smooth. The pedicure was average at best. Sandy did a LOT of talking. The chairs were very basic and the foot basin was something I could have purchased at Target. The really concerning part of this whole experience was when I took my dip off. It lasted 10 days (typically last three weeks for me) and my thumb nail was FULL of a fungal infection under the nail. I have NEVER in all my years of getting acrylic, shellac and dip, had a fungal infection. EVER. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this salon and will be sharing my experience with others.

I was seated right away, and my tech got to work while I selected a color from a large binder of dip samples. Music was nice in the salon, pretty relaxing. My tech was working VERY fast, which at first, I was really impressed with. However, as my service progressed, I had to ask twice for re work since the dip application was not extending to the whole nail edges, and was looking lumpy. Towards the end of the service, there was no effort to try to clean the excess build up under my nails, which was THICK! I realized I was being rushed as 'a regular' came in, and was immediately catered to, which I totally understand, but that shouldn't short change my service quality that much. The price was affordable, but I'd rather pay $5-$10 more for a quality result that lasts, and that I don't have to spend 30 minutes cleaning myself. Unfortunately, as a first timer, I wouldn't go back or recommend for drop in services. Perhaps going regularly with an appointment would yield better service and results.

A few repeat customers came in and they knew them by name, which is crazy. It felt like a little cozy family! I got the Prescription Go30 nails because I am a horrible nail biter and I read online that this could help. I was so embarrassed by my nails, but Autumn did a wonderful job making me feel comfortable, explaining every step of the process, and telling me what to expect as my nails heal and grow. I'm excited to see her again in a few weeks! There are only, ONLY two reasons I only gave 4 stars (I wish I could do 4.5!). The first is that the surfaces of the tables were a little cluttered and a little dusty. Not bad by any means, probably cleaner than my kitchen, but just something I noticed. The second is that when rounding off my nails, she accidentally gave two of my fingers little cuts from the file. Again, totally not a big deal, and she apologized profusely! Overall, I had a fun, relaxing time, and my nails haven't looked this good in years! I will definitely be back soon, and I would recommend this salon to anyone! Don't waste your money here. Not only was the work sloppy, but she got lint into the polish and said nothing about it. She did not file my nails nicely. I came in with long nails and left with short ones because of how many times she had to fix the nail shape. I didn't notice the lint or how crappy the work was until I already left the salon. It took almost two hours so at the end I had to rush to a final dress fitting. Once I was in the sunlight I saw how bad my nails were. I called the salon, and they just wanted me to go back to get it redone, but I didn't have time since it was the day before my wedding so I didn't have any time to go back. Will never come here again. My nail job was so bad that my husband, who never notices anything, even pointed it out. BEWARE.
