I have to say the worst experience having my nails done. I have posted the final result of my nails and I have to say it is NOT worth $75 I was charge for. and Extra fee for COFFIN nails. Now that is not coffin. They over booked everyone and my nail tech was running from me to another person. When I mentioned something about the shape that was coming along, all I got was "I'm not done yet" I get nail polish dumped on me, acrylic globs all over my hands. HORRIBLE service. Overall I was really unhappy with my experience. First, the lady doing my nails repeatedly hit my cuticle with the drill and got mad at me when I would flinch. She said "You aren't bleeding you're fine" and kept going. Even if I wasn't bleeding it's horrible customer service to talk back to customers when I simply said I was in pain. I've been a client for the last 2 years at least. I took a chance and tried it soon after they opened, and I've been coming here ever since. The owners are friendly, accommodating, good at conversation, and most importantly they all do a thorough job with my pedicures. I've never had a bad experience. They do take walk-ins but I find it's better to make an appointment ahead of time so that you get the full attention that you deserve! They even remember your name here, which makes a person feel special. Nice tv to watch, plus all the extras like coffee and soda and even candies. I'd recommend (and have recommended!) I only came here because my regular salon was closed for the holiday season. I've been here once before and the woman who did my nails seemed distracted with her kids but I figured they were in a bind. Two years later and the man doing my nails seemed a bit distracted and was more eager to look at sportsbook then focus on what I was paying for. My middle finger looks like a chicklet. He didn't even check to see if the lengths of the nails matched up and he nicked my finger when being so rough with cutting my cuticles that it wouldn't stop bleeding. Hands down the WORST nail job I've ever had done. That man has no business doing nails. This review isn't even the half of how poorly this experience was. Save your money and go literally any where else. The paint job was a hack job. Dude ran his drill bit so hot that it continually hurt me. Somehow he got upset that I wanted short nails it seems and so he fucked my nails up. This salon is a mess. I don't know what these other 5 stars the other people reviewing are giving out for, you guys must not have had your nails done nicely before because if y'all think this place deserves 5 stars, you're flat out crazy. The second day of the manicure 4 stones fell off my accent nails. 2 from each hand. The same day that accent nail broke and so did my pinky nail. The mails themselves were bumpy and uneven and you could see drill marks through the polish. The glue brushed over the stones made the nails look very messy. Super cute salon with comfortable chairs, snack/beverage bar and a large selection of polish colors (including Essie and Morgan Taylor, not just the usual OPI and China Glaze). I wanted so badly to enjoy this salon that is so close to my home, but I just didn't. My mom and best friend were visiting me from out of state and we thought we would have a girls evening. Originally, my mom set up the appointment for the two of us via Facebook when she was inquiring about their prices. We thought this was great. However, when I called to add on another person to our reservation (best friend was surprising my mom), the gentleman on the phone was unaware of the previous appointment we had made. He was glad to add us to their schedule, which was good. But, it took several calls and a few messages exchanged via Facebook to get the working phone number for the establishment. Once there, my pedicure was started and my mom and best friend sat waiting for a good 5-10 minutes with half of a bucket of cold water because my nail tech didn't want theirs to get cold and said you can't drain the bucket once it is full. This was when she began getting a little frustrated with us, which only escalated with any question I had regarding my services I was paying for. By the time I was done, she had a full blown attitude with me. She noted that it was only her third day there, but I feel as though she should at least know better when it comes to manners and being friendly. My best friend also had a few issues with her nail tech, but I can not attest to those. I am giving Onyx two stars simply because my mother stated that she had a good experience and her nail tech was friendly. The atmosphere is also very lovely and well-decorated. She really took her time which I appreciated because at my last salon they always went so fast and there was no attention to detail. She was very friendly and gave a great foot massage. A gentleman did my dip manicure. I didn't catch his name but he was great too. Very friendly. The dip manicure is not as thick as other places I've been which I liked. Well, first off the nail tech was very sweet and pretty quick, she made sure that I got exactly what I wanted. The salon was clean so that was a plus. On to the nails, when she was done they looked really nice so I was super happy, I will say tho that I wanted my cuticles oiled and clean but that didn't happen so that made my nails look a week old, I didn't get to sit under a dryer only in front of a little fan which didn't really dry my nails. Two days after I got my nails done I realized that one nail was so crooked that it didn't make ANY SENSE ‍ Then on the third day I was missing 15/21 of my stones were gone and I saw the size of the nails on my right hand was way bigger than the nails in the left hand. I went in 1 week and 2 days ago to get a shellac manicure. I felt rushed through the process. They were not busy but I was out in under 30 minutes like i was wasting their time by coming in. During the manicure they didn't use any cuticle oil or remover and was charged $40 before discount that's currently going on. The shellac that is suppose to last 3 weeks is already lifting off the bottom of my nail. Completely disappointed l.
