Just went to browse in the back for retro stuff and the guy working there left his counter to tell me about some deals. Told him I was just browsing and he wouldn't shut up about these Gamestop-esque deals. I really did not care and it was extremely uncomfortable. It seemed like whenever our eyes meet, he would have to say something. It was like a Pokemon battle. I literally walked to sections of the store I didn't want to just so I didn't have to run into him. This should not happen. Not only that, the selection of games was not very good. I used to find rows and rows of cheap games here, but after swimming through shelves and shelves of nothing but DVDs and useless merchandise, one of the most valuable things they had was John Madden on Genesis in-box. Whooptie doo. Most of the other games had torn stickers on them. Poor Sonic & Knuckles had bits of the plastic cut in it, as if a buzz-saw nicked it somehow. Seriously?? How did they get like this?! The store was also very dirty and unkempt. I almost tripped on some bits of shelving when I went to the album section. I am a pretty avid fan of brick and mortar stores and was actually planning on purchasing at least something there, but I ultimately changed my mind and left. Dudebros who apparently bought this place would rather talk your ear off about purchasing DVD and merchandise snake oil than anything worth your collection. Try FX at Richland Mall.

The space was clean and not too loud, and though a handful of other customers showed up it didn't get crowded. Free play really reduces the frustration that many older games can cause, since I could just keep continuing. I don't know that I would want to return too soon because I beat most of the games I wanted to play, but I do look forward to returning sometime in the future.

If I just wanted to wander book stacks at random (which I've been known to do), it would be fine.
