Terrible customer service at the Sioux Falls Airport. The counter attendant, Ryan, was aggressive and came around the counter swearing at me using the F word to leave the line after they wouldn't accept a debit card. I didn't feel safe given the body language of this person and the tone he spoke to me in, so I was thankful when security came. The attendant then refused to rent a car to me or my husband (who came with a credit card). I asked for a manager, but I was told he was in another city and unable to talk. I was then told later that the manager was in another country. I honestly don't think they wanted me to speak with a manager and lied. Later I was told this was the second incident at the enterprise counter with Ryan that day. He should be fired. read more

I rented a vehicle from the Sioux Falls airport. First when i signed for everything I asked for a receipt so I can travel stating it was a rental. The gentlemen told me they can't print only email. Sorry, but not everyone has email. Therefore I had nothing with me. Second, I realized I left something in vehicle. Even before I was halfway home I called the only number I had which was a call center. I explained what happened they took note and would have someone call me from the airport location. I waited and waited no call. I called again, and a wonderful person told me not to worry and would relay all the information I gave her and have them give a call. Again, no call. I went to airport this morning and they had not received any messages. I then made a third call. The gentleman say my two previous calls and would take this up the ladder to the area supervisor. This mean that they do not clean or sanitize the vehicle before hand. So far no phone call! read more

They gave us a car that broke down and won't give us any solutions to get back to Sioux Falls for an exchange. The chick that gave us the keys also had a stank ass attitude. Made reservations online, drove to Sioux Falls to pick it up, and upon arriving found out they didn't have any cars available. I reccomend double checking. They were polite about it but a very inconvenient situation for us. Seems like something a car rental business should have figured out by now. read more

the lady (who was just nasty and unhelpful) told Me I had to use a credit card. I have $ in my account but the payment on my credit card didn't process yet and I showed them...the guy there was telling me they could help but she cut him off and told him no. I had proof that I was a resident who had just moved and she still wouldn't help. I've never been so embarrassed and have never been treated like this, definitely not the first time renting a car but it will most definitely be my last from this establishment. They literally rented out the car I was supposed to take as I was trying to figure out my situation. As I was leaving the lady smugly told me "we won't have anything available until Wednesday "The way I was treated by this lady in charge is honestly appalling. I LEFT WITHOUT A CAR. Be forewarned: you WILL be charged two days if you drop off a car after hours at this or any Enterprise location. What seems like a convenience is actually a frustrating bit of small print that had us rushing to return our car within the 24 hour window only to be charged for two days after renting the car for only 24 hours. This was nowhere near adequately communicated. read more

Now 30days after we got the original letter that they were charging us for over $600 in damages. Our insurance tells us we will take of it no problem. They are working on getting it done but now we get a letter saying we demand payment in 10days or we are going to send you to collections. I hope that anyone who reads thinks twice before doing business with Enterprise. read more

I always use Enterprise car rental when I travel & did so again on recent trip to Sioux Falls SD. The staff at your No Minnesota office were very friendly & helpful but I declined the first car - carpet chewed up on driver side and seats were so stained that I didn't want to sit on them. They found me a second car that had been returned earlier that morning. The interior was not cleaned,. Seats were stained and windows were mess on inside. I had reserved a full-size car two weeks prior but was told today, at agreed time of pickup, there was only a truck and a subcompact car. No notification was made at any time prior to me coming into the office. In fact, I had called Enterprise the day before and was not told of any difficulties with securing the car I reserved. The staff were not able (or understand) the situation. I thought I had done due diligence in making the arrangements well ahead of time. Rented a vehicle for one day, 11am Saturday to 11am Sunday. We had been quoted a price for one day. Returned vehicle the same day of rental and put keys in drop box as the location had closed at noon. Received an email receipt on Sunday, when location is closed, that I was being charged another day. Contacted customer service via their website twice in 4 days before receiving a response and being granted a refund for the extra day. We were never informed via the website nor the counter agent that they charge extra days when the location is closed, even when returned on or before it's due. It's a convenient location that's near a gas station but I'll never return to that location again and take the chance of being charged extra. read more

I rented an Enterprise car in Mesa Az. Signed the contract, took the car for a week and expected the total bill to be $276......nope. I delivered the car back, in the same shape, thanked the worker and boarded my plane back to SD. Landed and as soon as we were allowed to use our phones, I had an email from Enterprise, billing me another $79 for taxes, fees, etc. I called their 800# in Chicago and got absolutely nowhere. Total scam..the cowards waited until I returned the car, and then tacked on more taxes and fees and notified me via email several hours later. Why has Enterprise chosen to mistreat customers with gestapo tactics to scare you into buying extra insurance and protection when I have full liability and collision coverage from my auto insurance company? I've used Enterprise off and on for years, always taking great care of rental cars as though they were my own. Now, in an effort to create additional revenue, pushy clerks are harassing me, warning me that if I don't purchase add'l insurance, I am taking on excessive personal liability in the event of ANY hail damage, scratches, scuffs, windshield cracks, and the like. This hard-nosed approach has completely turned me off. If I face this again when I plan to rent next month, I'm done with Enterprise. This is no way to treat loyal customers. read more

I am livid with the service I received from Enterprise this week. When I got into Sioux Falls, I came to the Enterprise desk where I had already booked and confirmed my rental car. They informed me that, "Unfortunately we have overbooked our cars for today, so we'll just have you go over to Avis." Avis had only an SUV available, much more expensive than the car I reserved with Enterprise. I walked back to Enterprise and they informed me that I will have to pay the higher price, but after I bring the car back to Avis, I should come back to Enterprise desk where they will work out the difference for me and they will send me a check. I didn't like this idea, because I booked the cheaper car for the reason that I don't have a lot of money to be spending here, regardless of my eventual refund. Mistakes happen and I'm glad I could still get a car from Avis, but the service Enterprise gave me this morning made it clear that they just run a bad business. This morning at 8 am upon returning the car at Avis, I went over to the Enterprise counter where the man there didn't even turn to look at me before he said, "I can't help you." I laughed thinking he was making a joke, but he proceeded to make me feel stupid and tell me that they are not open, he works a different position, and nobody comes in early on Saturdays because they are, in his words, "lazy." Apparently they don't come in until 9 and are usually running later than that. That's exactly what their service is-lazy. Why would you not be open at 7 am every morning? What happens when other people like myself need to drop off a car earlier than their maybe 9 am opening time? Perhaps they come in according to when their rental cars are supposed to be returned, however even though my car was with Avis, I was instructed to come to Enterprise after dropping it off. My drop off time was 7:30am and Enterprise should have been organized enough to know that and follow through with their commitment to me. I should not have to still be worrying about this when I get home, and I should not have to explain the situation over the phone to another careless person. I would imagine that the service I will receive over the phone will not be any better than what I got in person, and I really hope I will get this refund check. I am regretting being kind about the situation as it was happening, because it seems that gave them the cue to pass off the issue to someone else who ended up knowing nothing about what was going on with Enterprise. This Sioux Falls Airport Enterpise branch was extremely disorganized, lazy, and disrespectful. These people are cheaters, who draw your money without hesitant. Here is my story, how I was cheated. I rented a Jeep Patriot , while my car was with Universal Hail damage repair. The rental cost was paid by universal. When I was picking up the vehicle on August 8th, Friday afternoon (around 3 pm) at the Enterprise, the lady, seemed to be a manager, asked me to pay $50 refundable deposit for gas using credit card. She also suggested to include insurance but she did not explain that I was responsible for this $44/day amount. My mistake was, I did not read all the paper, who can read all those tiny letters, anyway. During the weekend, I found out I was responsible for the insurance amount so I went back to the store on the 11th, Monday afternoon to cancel the insurance, because I had the comprehensive coverage for my Honda. Luckily, same lady was there, she told me that they would charge me for 3 days, which agreed because it was my mistake not reading 4 pages long agreement paper with tiny letters, anyway. But when I checked my credit card statement after a week, they had charged me for 4 days. I called them immediately to inquire, there was another lady who said they would return extra amount but that never happened, I called every other week for 3 times and went to the store on 4th week. Every time they say I would get my money back but it is 2 months now I never got my money back. read more

I was recently rear ended by a teenager while stopped at a stop light in Sioux Falls. Due to this, his insurance company offered to pay for a rental car for me while my car was being fixed (it was significant damage that would take a few days). Enterprise was the rental car company chosen by the insurance company. The gal who picked my up in the morning from the body shop was very nice and professional. While they were having me sign the usual forms that are necessary when renting a car, they tried to get me to buy their very expensive insurance in case something happened while I was driving their car. Although this is a normal practice for rental car companies, I was very offended by the approach they took to get my to buy the insurance. When I politely declined their expensive insurance, a co-worker of the gal who picked me up looked down at me and said "you know you're in this situation for a reason." This comment seemed incredibly rude and unprofessional to me. I had no control over a teenager rear ending me. Therefore, I would like to know why she felt it was ok to insinuate that it was somehow my poor driving that led me to their establishment. read more
