    Historic bank vault

Everything went well. My daughter and I both agree that we stay here every time we are in Sioux Falls. We really enjoyed our stay from the exceptional service to the spacious comfortable sleeping room.

If you're in a days drive of this hotel, reserve your room NOW, then thank me later!! I've been driving across the country for more than 2 weeks, staying in all sorts of hotels, lodges, timeshares, and this place beats them all. To begin with, it was recommended by AARP. Now I see why. It is an old bank built in 1908 and refurbished to be an upscale hotel. Management has taken great pains to make your stay enjoyable. The attention to detail blew me away. Everywhere you looked were their initials (HP). In the shiny marble floor and elevator doors to the robes, sticky pad, glass coffee mugs, and bottled water in your room. My reservation was through Expedia and came with a bottle of chilled champagne. The room was so impeccable clean that I almost forgot to do my "mattress bedbug check." Once I did, saw nothing...not even one hair in the entire room. The bathroom has wallpaper with history of the bank, and a wonderful waterfall shower head, a white bowl sink and washcloths shaped like roses. The amenities have not been forgotten. Unlike most other chains, there was an actual travel size body wash, shampoo, conditioner and lotion (that were top tier brand, Gilchrist & Soames) as well as a bar each of glycerin soap and facial soap. There were 3 large windows (with shades as well as darkening shades) to enjoy looking out; one in bathroom and two in the room itself. The bed was super comfy with charging ports and reading lights on both sides made into the headboard. The room also had a small sink, Keurig machine, coffee pods, glass coffee mugs, ice bucket, and neat refrigerator with two bottles of water chilled inside. Downstairs was check-in, bell hop, valet, a breakfast and coffee bar but the star of the show is the bank vault they've made into a bar and restaurant. Solo travelers like myself are made to sit at the bar to maximize occupancy. The food was good, but not great. The wait staff was exceptional. The only issue during my stay was parking. The valet spaces were few and taken, so I had to park in the bank parking lot across the street. This is definitely a destination not to be missed. Wished I could have stayed multiple days and gotten to see what the city had to offer.

The art deco design of this hotel is gorgeous. The building was built in 1918 and is beautifully restored. With only 90 rooms this hotel is quiet and quaint and centrally located which was great. One of the prettiest rooms we have had and very comfortable without a ridiculous price tag. The Treasury cocktail bar is worth visiting. The only hard part is parking. We had to park across the street in the Wells Fargo parking deck. I would definitely stay here again!!

This hotel was beautiful! My parents and I stayed here for one night and couldn't be happier with our experience. The front desk staff was great and the gentleman outside maintaining the parking lot was friendly and super willing to provide information and recommendations in the area. The room was super clean and had great decor. The hotel itself is in walking distance to most stuff downtown. They have free parking on site. Although I didn't stop there, they have a little cafe open in the morning in the lobby. I highly recommend Hotel on Phillips and would definitely stay here again if ever back in Bismarck. The price is no different than a generic hotel. Why not take in a new experience with some history!?

Everything was incredible, the ambience was top of the line. The to the point and never skipping a beat of hospitality was refreshing to see. The room was gorgeous and clean. Everyday at Noon we got to come back our room like we were never in it. This was our honeymoon and I hope we get to enjoy more events in this incredible hotel. Thank you for an unforgettable moment with my wife.

Very clean room, had everything as advertised. We stayed in the Blarney Stone Queen room. Bed was comfortable. Only complaint was the TV was advertised as a smart TV and the google chromecast option did not work at all so you were stuck with on demand or live TV but I didn't care too much as I was only staying the night. The restaurant attached to the hotel was amazing, I had the burger and it was one of the best I ever had. Also recommend the spinach dip. Location was perfect for walking around the downtown area. Would stay there again if I was in the area.

Bottom Line: we highly recommend this hotel. Very friendly/professional staff and exquisite decor. although we came here as part of our family vacation, if I had to travel to Sioux Falls on business, this is where I would like to stay (our suite included a desk) When we were planning out our trip to Yellowstone, we knew we would stay one night in Sioux Falls on our way back to Milwaukee. The trip wasn't just about Yellowstone it was also about the stops in between. At every stop we made a point to stay at a higher end locally owned hotel or a hotel of local significance. In Sioux Falls that hotel is the Hotel on Phillips. From the website: "Hotel On Phillips was originally built as the Sioux Falls National Bank in 1918 ... And at that time, it was the tallest building in South Dakota...In 2018, Hotel On Phillips began its restoration and transformation into an upscale chic boutique hotel (featuring 90 unique and elegant guest rooms along with many luxury suites)." When booking, I noticed all the rooms vary in color schemes and are decorated very well. We chose to book Peacock Suite. I love the color scheme and there was plenty of room for the four of us. We also had an amazing view of the Big Sioux River. It had a comfortable full size couch with a chaise lounge, A wet bar with a large clear-door refrigerator, and a large double-sink bathroom which included a seat, plenty of hooks on the wall, and a walk-in shower. THE BEDS ARE SUPER COMFORTABLE But don't think it was exorbitantly expensive - the total charge - with taxes and valet parking - for one night was $279.90. (Our hotel rate in Yellowstone was over $500 per night, And less extravagant hotels in other cities have been over $300 per night) View the room here - https://www.hotelonphillips.com/sioux-falls-sd-hotel-suites-exquisite-jr Enjoy the lobby too - it is gorgeous! My husband and I were traveling with our 18-year-old daughters so we didn't venture into their lounge called The Treasury (which Is accessed through the bank's original fault!) The hotel is in a perfect location, downtown on the river walk. About a casual 15 minute walk to Falls Park (don't miss that) Know before you go - Services are limited (no meal service) only coffee and pastries available in the lobby in the morning. Their hotel parking is limited to a small lot otherwise you have to park on the street or valet (which is what we did, but it only cost $15/night so that's super cheap) No gift shop No microwave in the room (but there is one in a snack area off of the lobby)

    Old fashioned. Respectable.

The beds are nice, not too spent as you get at a lot of hotels. So it was a pleasant place to…read moresleep. The hallways were relatively quiet with hardly any exterior noises creeping in. It doesn't hurt that it's a bit off the man drag. So overall I would say pretty solid construction. The parking lot is generous with okay lighting, but the hotel is in a decent area so I wouldn't anticipate too many issues here. The girl working the desk was pleasant and helpful in pointing out nearby places to eat. The only real downside was the price. Almost $300 for a one night stay! I get that it's nice, but it's not the Ritz. My wallet says Ouch!!

We stay in Sioux Falls 3-4 times a year (and have been doing so for 10 years). We've tried AirBnBs…read moreand hotels. We have now settled in on this StayBridge (not the one at the mall which we have tried in the past) as our 'go to' place to stay. For us the location is solid - can get to the highway and downtown easily. Ample parking even when the hotel is full (which it was for most of our week long stay). The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms, hallway and parking lot are all clean. The breakfast changes daily - always has an egg dish, a breakfast meat, carb choices (including you can make waffles), fruit, yogurt and juice, soda or coffee. The small exercise room is fine - 3 cardio machines plus dumbbells. The small pool looked fine (we didn't go in). The building is solid - so we didn't hear hallway traffic or the people aboe or below us. The price is appropriate. Biggest 'complaint' - the dishwasher had way too much rust in it - that should be reviewed and fixed )we were on a 2 bedroom suite). We have already booked our next stay!
