Good hotel, incredibly convenient to the Sanford sports complex. Breakfast was decent, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, pastries and biscuits with gravy and eggs. Place was clean and staff was nice. Pool is a bit small, outdoor patio was great for our team/family gatherings. Fairfield/Marriott could learn from the competitors though on using the app as a door key. Their app is sub-par and you might as well get a key because sharing it with other family is a pain and it doesn't work most of the time. We do a lot of traveling and their product leaves a lot to be desired. read more

One morning they started to clean up an hour before breakfast ended and the options were even more limited. For $300/night I expected more. read more

We were passing through SF on our way to the National Parks in western SD and needed a place to stay close to I-90. Using Marriott points I booked this place in advance despite the fact that supposedly no one was traveling during the pandemic. Glad I did since it turns out that was not true on this trip - most hotels were packed! If you want to be in the heart of SF this place is out a bit but convenient to the highway. Anyway the check-in at this relatively new place was friendly and efficient (and they were wearing masks). They were able to give me an upgraded room as a Gold member. The room was very nice and included a refrigerator and microwave. The bath room had a very nice shower - glad to see hotels getting rid of tubs. With Covid there was a limited free breakfast with a few prepackaged pastries and some other items - it was OK and I suppose better than nothing but not great. The only other issue, and it is a tough one to deal with as an employee, were the number of guests in the lobby not wearing masks. Not sure if better signage would have helped but after staying in five different hotels on this trip they could have had better "mask" signs with stronger wording. Other hotels along I-90/ 94 had better compliance. And I get it - the general population in this part of the country doesn't think there is a problem... read more

Beware of bedbugs! Stayed at hotel for several nights and last night of my stay noticed a number of bites on my arm. Next day they had developed into welts and bruises. Contacted the hotel to let them know there might be an issue and then again the following day after confirming it was bedbugs. Each time I asked them to follow up with me so I would know how to address it with my luggage, etc. but never received even a courtesy call back. I travel three weeks out of every month for business and most of the time stay at Marriotts. I recognize that hotels cannot prevent bedbugs and also realize I might have even picked them up on a plane, rental car, etc. What I found unacceptable. Was never following up with me to inform my own health and safety. read more

During a 2 day business trip in Sioux Falls I decided to give this place a shot. Regarding location I found it fairly convenient, just 10 mins from the airport and less than 15 mins from downtown. If you like a place in the middle of all the action where you can walk to many places then this is NOT the place for you. It is really in the middle of nowhere, other than the one restaurant across the street and the sports complex nearby there was literally nothing else around. When it comes to service everybody I met at the counter was very friendly :). Breakfast was also very complete: scramble eggs, omelets, sausage juices, cereals, breads, fruit, yogurt, waffles etc. The room was clean in general, nothing great to remark but nothing to criticize either. Right next to a bar. If you are on the bottom floor beware. It is currently 9:30 at night and there is an extremely loud group outside my room in the lobby. Staff is not doing anything about it. I can hear them saying "left hand yellow" "right foot green". They are literally playing twister in the lobby. read more

PROS: This place is easy to get to and the perfect place to stay if you're visiting the Sanford sports complex, which is just across the street. Also a good location if you're flying in and out of FSD--close enough that you can get there in a hurry, not so close that you have to tolerate excessive noise from the planes. It is very clean, the hotel is rather new and it is so clean that it appears even newer than it is--high marks to the housekeeping staff for sure!! I always think the free breakfasts at Fairfield properties are really good--my usual is a cheese omlet and some fruit--they also have various breads, muffins, bagels, breakfast meats, cereals, waffles, etc. Is it some spectacular gourmet breakfast? No, of course not, but in my opinion it's better than going to McDonald's. For a free continental breakfast, I think Fairfield typically does better than most other hotel chains and this location met my expectations. Standard high speed wifi is free or you can pay about $5 for enhanced wifi. I stuck with the free service, the bandwidth and speed was ample for the paperwork I needed to do--no problems at all. Service was very good and the staff I had interactions with were very friendly and professional. I just happened to arrive at the same time as another group of business travelers--in all, there were six of us checking in and I was second to last in line. I had just driven for about four hours in a pretty uncomfortable rental and when I saw there was only one desk clerk working I initially thought "ugh.... this will be a while". To my surprise and delight, the associate on duty was really efficient--she got all six of us checked in within five minutes (maybe even less), yet she still managed to greet each one of us attentively and with a smile--I wish I had made note of her name because balancing efficiency with friendliness is a special skill. CONS: The walls and, oddly, the ceilings are suuuuper thin!! I could hear the conversations of my neighbors clearly, even though they were speaking at a normal volume, and it sounded like sumo wrestlers were running back and forth across the floor of the room above me. I am a very light sleeper and was worried about whether I'd get a decent night's sleep. Luckily for me, my neighbors turned in at a reasonable hour so this wasn't a problem but, had they not, I definitely would have struggled to fall asleep and it's not like they were partying or being loud. I was awakened by my neighbor's bathroom fan a good 30 minutes before my alarm was set to go off. This appears to be in a developing area of Sioux Falls--there is only one nearby restaurant, Blue Rock Bar & Grill. That place gets good reviews but if you want options, most other restaurants are about a 10-15 minute drive away. The bed and bedding was comfortable overall. If you like soft, smooshy pillows, you will be very content. If, like me, you prefer a more firm pillow you're out of luck. Most hotels make their beds with a mix of both these days, this place should adopt that policy. Overall, the pros outweigh the cons. I would probably stay here again. read more

This is a good hotel. Breakfast was over cooked. I always look forward to eggs and toast but eggs wee over done. Rooms are clean, staff was pleasant and towels were plenty. WiFi was good, snacks and beverages were available for purchase and it was a restful night. All in all, not a bad place to lay your head for a night. read more

Just came back from visiting family in South Dakota and we stayed here for two nights. It was fantastic! Easy to get to from the airport, friendly staff, awesome continental breakfast with a wide variety of food, and everything was as expected per our reservation. We had requested a pack n play for our baby and it was in our room (sheets included) on arrival. We had an early morning flight and they provided small breakfast bags to go. Honestly, everything was excellent. Rooms were clean, up-to-date, and fresh. Parking was easy and there were nice amenities. We would definitely love coming back here to stay. Wow! One of the nicest Fairfield Inns (or Marriott Hotels, for that matter) I have ever stayed in. This property is relatively new - everything was fresh, exceptionally clean, comfortable, and the staff seemed to take COVID requirements seriously. Staff and patrons all wore masks. Hand sanitizers were everywhere (front desk, elevator & the hallway). This hotel is not far off of I-90 & I-29 on the west end of Sioux Falls. While there aren't a lot of restaurants in this area (the hotel is near the airport), it is close to a fantastic bar & grill that is easily accessible. I definitely recommend this hotel & kudos to the management for maintaining such a stellar Inn. read more

I arrived in Sioux Falls from Oacoma after dinnertime and checked out before 5am the next day, so my stay wasn't very long, but it was so pleasant! I only have positive things to report, like: 1. The agent at the front desk was incredibly friendly. 2. The lobby was really cute and had everything I needed--I took advantage of one of the computers in the lobby to print my boarding pass, and got a cup of hot chocolate before heading up to my room for the night. 3. My room was roomy and bright, welcoming, and comfortable. 4. The proximity to the airport was great with such an early flight out. I'll definitely stay there again--hopefully for longer than a short overnight! read more

This is a very nice hotel, everything was clean, check in went well so no issues with the room or hotel itself. One place to eat across the street but we drove I think 6 miles to pick up food elsewhere. There is nothing much around this hotel so don't expect to walk around and shop in town, etc. Our only problem was partially our own but the tone of the person was rude. At all the Mariott's we stayed at, breakfast was available until 9:30-10:00 a.m. We did not see the sign that said breakfast only went until 9:00 a.m at this particular hotel. We got to the breakfast area at 9:01 (I looked at my phone) and the woman from the kitchen area was rude/gruff and said, "I already shut down the waffle maker" and mentioned the other things that were shut down. I am hoping they clean the waffle maker because what we saw was a rag stuck in between the two sides of it. There was nothing else to pick from that looked appetizing. You could still get milk and juice. The woman did not offer anything other than a rude tone of voice, pretty unprofessional for Marriott! read more

I am impressed. I was greeted by no less than 3 different people before I checked in. I used the nifty Marriott app and checked in from my phone so upon arrival I was greeted by name and didn't have to wait in line. I was even given a bottled water and a pack of cookies (pretty standard if you're Marriott elite, gold or platinum but it's always nice to get free things). You can tell that this is a fairly new hotel- everything is extremely clean. My room was immaculate. I used the fitness center and while it is small (just 2 treadmills and an elliptical) all the equipment is new and has TVs. I didn't get a chance to try the pool or hot tub but from what I could see there were fresh towels and the pool area was clean as well. Wifi is free! Free breakfast in the mornings. I have a feeling in the summer there might be an issue with parking. It's very limited- not too many spaces available. The hotel is next to a huge field house for sports and I'm sure this place will be packed once the kids are out of school. The only issue I have is the airport is close and you'll hear planes all night. It's loud. The planes stop around 10pm (small airport) but if you tend to crash early or nap you won't sleep for long. Overall, I really like this hotel and will definitely stay here again. read more

Stayed here twice in a short period of time with my family on the way to and from Rushmore. The first time we stayed my son left his Kindle in the lobby and the staff person working the desk spotted it an saved the day. Decent overall experience. Breakfast is about average for hotel breakfasts. The second night we stayed however, the room had lots of issues. The toliet was broken (but to the hotel's credit was fixed quickly), the bathroom floor was sticky (gross) and my wife said that she woke up with the comforter (the thick blanket) near her face and gagged due to how bad it smelled. She likened it to what a blanket smells like after it has been sucked on and then it dries - parents out there know the smell. I let the folks at the desk know, and they were apologetic. The hotel assistant manager contacted me to ask me more about it, I replied, and then...nothing. Which was weird. Anyway, overall okay but as the two star rating says...meh. We had a very pleasant stay here after a long day on the road. The rooms are exceptionally clean and cute for the price point. (Same goes for the bathrooms.) The staff was also congenial. Despite the proximity to the highway, we heard next to nothing and slept like the dead. Beyond that, the breakfast buffet delivered, though we were disappointed by the absence of the promised waffle maker (!!) which had been supplanted by biscuits and gravy that day. The pastry and cereal selections left something wanting, but over all, we were happy with the options provided. read more

Highly recommend! They were so caring and understanding. A light during our horrible day. Our flight left without us so we weren't going to make it to the hotel that night. We were going to have to drive 12 hours instead of fly and they understood and didn't charge us for the night. Then when we did get to stay with them the hotel is brand new. My family arrived about 11:30pm looking for a room for the night. We had been driving cross-county all day and were very tired. We received luxurious accommodations and great customer service for a fair price. The front desk clerk was cheerful and extremely efficient booking our room. A AAA membership will get you a discount. The hotel and room was very clean and looked recently renovated. The beds were amazingly comfortable and we all got a good night sleep. In the morning there was a great spread for the complementary breakfast. The items were replenished quickly by a cheerful and friendly man. We had a great stay and if in the area again will spend another night. read more

Hands down, the nicest Fairfield Inn that I have ever stayed at. All of the staff that I interacted with was pleasant to deal with. The hotel still had a very new feel to it and the room was very clean. There were plenty of outlets for my various electronics. They had dual outlets on each lamp and a power strip above the desk. The furniture was nice too as well as the king sized bed. If I am ever in the Sioux Falls area again, this is where I will be staying. read more

I booked this place as it had excellent reviews. I did not see this excellence so I must share. Checking in was a slow process, she was very slow, not so friendly and when she handed us the room key didn't even let us know the direction of the elevators or about breakfast, not that we couldn't figure it out, but the kindness and hospitality wasn't there. The room was so cold when we entered, the first towel I got had a long dark hair in it and we were left two almost fully used toilet paper rolls that were gone by morning. Not so great. Also I woke up at 2 am to the person in the next room snoring loudly. I cannot recommend this place. read more

Friendly staff, very convenient shuttle service, clean and comfortable hotel. The free breakfast is a nice perk, although it didn't look super appetizing. I just had a yogurt and coffee. They offered waffles, eggs, sausage, cereal, and bagels/muffins. I was here for work, but I wouldn't mind staying an extra day if I had to. If you had to stay in Sioux Falls, I don't know why you would want to stay anywhere else. I would definitely recommend this place! read more
