I realize this is going against the grain, but please let me explain. I rented a car at this location many weeks ahead for a special trip. I ordered an economy car. I was meeting a good friend, on a girls weekend, and time was of the essence. I like a small car. I like something I can maneuver in a city and like a relatively small carbon footprint. I was driving the car from Seattle to downtown Vancouver B.C. to meet a friend who was in town for a conference. I hadn't seen her in a year and she had an extremely narrow time window. You can just imagine a worst case scenario. It happened. This small location that I had a standing reservation for weeks called just prior to pick up at my home to say they'd made a mistake and my car wasn't going to be ready. Wait you mean you don't have a car? ANY car? Nope. Not a single car, including the one I purposely booked weeks in advance?!? No. I planned to pick up the car late am, avoid rush hour traffic, and drive easily to the border. They asked me to wait. And wait. They had no information but hoped a vehicle would arrive soon. No they could not get a car out from the airport. I waited for hours on pins and needles, nervously calling my friend in Canada with updates. Then hours behind schedule I finally got the call that a car was ready (whew!) When I arrive at the car rental location, I'm told I have been upgraded. (Now we're talking!) But what did that mean exactly? You probably guessed it. I was "upgraded" to the only car they had available --a terrifyingly enormous Suburban. One of the biggest ones I'd ever seen. The one you see on the road and move far, far away from. It was ginormous and looked like a metal monster. Oh, no way! I protested, there was no way I could possibly maneuver that giant thing across the U.S. border and into the small streets, skyscrapers and cramped parking lots of Downtown Vancouver. No! Don't like it? Well, it's the only car we have. Sorry. We are closing for the night. You'll have to wait and see what we have available tomorrow. (After waiting half a day for this one?) It's not our fault. We are a small outpost and we don't always know what vehicle we are going to get in and it's an upgrade, so you should be happy... Oh gawd. Next scene? I am terrified, and driving an enormous white mother ship across the border and into downtown Vancouver B.C.. I should have had a red trucker hat, CB radio and one of those pulley thingies. That Suburban was a monster. It was rolling over median bumps, hogging the road and sucking down gas. (Did I mention I had to pay for that gas?) You probably won't be surprised to hear it's hard to find a place to park a unusually large, unwieldy SUV in downtown Vancouver, but I managed to find a spot. I left the car parked downtown and took a Lyft each night, because there was literally no way I was going to try to maneuver that big scary machine around the narrow roads of downtown. If you don't mind booking an economy car and then (surprise!!) having to drive the Titanic through a major city, this is your spot. If you don't mind unpredictability and have a good sense of humor, that's a plus. Don't mind a place that won't take any responsibility for their mismanagement of their fleet and won't work towards a better solution than "oh well" deal with it , then good for you. You are more easy going than me. If the thought of unexpectedly having to drive one of the largest vehicles one can rent (besides a Hummer) through the streets of a major city in abject fear after being unconvincingly told how incredibly lucky you are for this unwanted upgrade, while simultaneously feeling like the most unlucky person in the world, isn't your cuppa, well then, you have been warned.

Contacted by Kelsey recently....at request from corporate apparently. Zero apology given for trying to send me out on a three day rental with five month expired tabs, zero remorse for their blatant unprofessionalism, zero class. Kelsey, Joel, and other staff at Enterprise - very disappointed. After renting from this location for seven years, spending thousands of dollars there, this dissatisfied customer is taking his business elsewhere. Still haven't been refunded my erroneous charge from Joel for the fuel either.

We forked out the $69.00 rental for the day as we wanted to explore the city before checking into our hotel, and go shopping. It was also nice as my husband and son used the car as a crash pad to catch some ZzzzS while I was parked at Pike Market Place and went shopping alone. The return wasn't as smooth as the pick-up from the airport as the street signs were CONFUSING as heck. No left turn except for buses onto 3rd, what??? We circled around and around using Waze app due to multiple one-way streets. The entrance to Alamo for the garage wasn't really marked, either. It was the Twilight Zone. After about a stupid and ridiculous 20- minute drive being stuck on one-way streets and circling around and around, I said, "screw this! I am turning LEFT!" Once into the building, there were no signs, so we drove up a few flights to an Alamo booth and idled the car, wondering what to do. There were no signs, did I already say that? There was a lone woman in a booth talking to what appeared to be a customer. I had to get out of the car to ask her what to do, and she said we could just park the car. She was nice, though. You need sleuthing skills to return a car here. Convenient, but only if you know what you are doing.

Alamo car rental has been very efficient on all of your travels. I am a member of their "Insiders"…read moreprogram and often utilize their Skip the Counter option when we travel. Our rentals are great the majority of the time but on the few occasions we have had an issue we have contacted their customer service via text and email and they have always worked with us to resolved any issue we have. I will rent from Alamo again in the future.

However, after leaving the lot we began to notice it was full of personal receipts, snacks, masks and a permeating, sharp sour odor. Although it had the seal of approval of the previous cleaner on the dash, ( which I gave to the second cleaner when returned), she took the original, hand-signed authorization( that he had completed his job) to her office, never to return. We were unable to settle this situation at the lot, but have pictures, including the personal papers. We left the snacks and masks as is, but I have pics if you would like to see them. Honestly, we had to wipe everything down, but couldn't eradicate the smell! I'm glad that we all had our vaccinations because, this is a Pandemic!!!!! I have spent much more time on this than it should have taken to resolve this. The other portal would not accept information and bounced me 4 times, and agents have rerouted me 5 times. I got a car…read morewith only 400 miles on it and Bill and the team at the office were extremely accommodating and friendly throughout: 1) They worked with me to extend my rental for a few days at a much cheaper rate than expedia 2) They let me return my car a few hours past the return time 3) They tolerated my calls and were helpful when I thought I might've locked they keys inside on the way to return Highly recommend this location!

This was a horrible experience...800 miles into road trip..I see front tire has lost a lot of air…read moreonly to notice both front tires almost bald. Had to take to Firestone in Las Vegas (100 miles put of my way) to replace tires on the hopes I get reimbursed. Even if I get reimbursed for the tires I am out for 200 miles gas money plus an entire day wasted. Plus Budget charged me for not having exactly a full tank (off by 1.5 gallons)...I will never ever rent from this place again..and never will I rent from Budget. This car never should have been rented...it's the fault of the people who work there.

Oh how I long for the days that Yelp has 0 stars! Because if so, Budget/Avis would be on my hit…read morelist! This location sucks, go somewhere else. The guy "helping" us was so apathetic, wouldn't make eye contact nor do a "walk around" the car with us like every car place does. He filled it out himself then told me to initial it then once my fiancé and I got to the car, found at least eight other dings on the car--scrapes, dents, chips--what not. So I had to go back into the office, tell him and mark everything down again while he just initialed it. Once we got to driving, we smelled gasoline and saw that the passenger side seat has multiple gas marks on it along with scrapes on the radio. No mention of that on his report either--funny. We returned to a different location and that went smoothly and get this--we even got a smile and greeting from the guy helping us--like customer service or something. Pass on the Roosevelt location!

And the gas economy is simply unbelievable! Alyson is an amazing host, she's fun and pleasure to deal with. She takes a real good care of her cars. She urgently changed the car that I initially booked a day before the trip, because that car turned out to have some mechanical issues. I was really glad that it was all resolved before the trip and not on the road. Besides, this shows that Alyson has her cars mechanically checked before every trip, so I felt safe driving Bianka.
