We had such a great experience with Trevor! We rented a car over Christmas, and when the car we originally wanted wasn't available, Trevor called us to walk through backup option which we really appreciated. When we arrived to pick up the car, there were no vehicles in the lot and we got a little nervous, but Trevor explained before we could even ask that he had parked the SUV on the street so people wouldn't ask about it. That level of attention to detail truly felt above and beyond. His communication was excellent, he was incredibly kind, and he made the entire experience seamless and stress-free. Rented here multiple times w/ no issues but giving 1 star because today, the SUV I reserved wasn't available. If I had a heads-up I could have arranged what I needed somewhere else. No heads-up until I arrived to pick up the car. Its simple to call a customer to tell them you don't have what they reserved rather than waiting till they arrive with no option. The car that was available had 1/4 tank and smelled like smoke. Frankly feels lazy because these are easy problems to fix. read more

I realize this is going against the grain, but please let me explain. I rented a car at this location many weeks ahead for a special trip. I ordered an economy car. I was meeting a good friend, on a girls weekend, and time was of the essence. I like a small car. I like something I can maneuver in a city and like a relatively small carbon footprint. I was driving the car from Seattle to downtown Vancouver B.C. to meet a friend who was in town for a conference. I hadn't seen her in a year and she had an extremely narrow time window. You can just imagine a worst case scenario. It happened. This small location that I had a standing reservation for weeks called just prior to pick up at my home to say they'd made a mistake and my car wasn't going to be ready. Wait you mean you don't have a car? ANY car? Nope. Not a single car, including the one I purposely booked weeks in advance?!? No. I planned to pick up the car late am, avoid rush hour traffic, and drive easily to the border. They asked me to wait. And wait. They had no information but hoped a vehicle would arrive soon. No they could not get a car out from the airport. I waited for hours on pins and needles, nervously calling my friend in Canada with updates. Then hours behind schedule I finally got the call that a car was ready (whew!) When I arrive at the car rental location, I'm told I have been upgraded. (Now we're talking!) But what did that mean exactly? You probably guessed it. I was "upgraded" to the only car they had available --a terrifyingly enormous Suburban. One of the biggest ones I'd ever seen. The one you see on the road and move far, far away from. It was ginormous and looked like a metal monster. Oh, no way! I protested, there was no way I could possibly maneuver that giant thing across the U.S. border and into the small streets, skyscrapers and cramped parking lots of Downtown Vancouver. No! Don't like it? Well, it's the only car we have. Sorry. We are closing for the night. You'll have to wait and see what we have available tomorrow. (After waiting half a day for this one?) It's not our fault. We are a small outpost and we don't always know what vehicle we are going to get in and it's an upgrade, so you should be happy... Oh gawd. Next scene? I am terrified, and driving an enormous white mother ship across the border and into downtown Vancouver B.C.. I should have had a red trucker hat, CB radio and one of those pulley thingies. That Suburban was a monster. It was rolling over median bumps, hogging the road and sucking down gas. (Did I mention I had to pay for that gas?) You probably won't be surprised to hear it's hard to find a place to park a unusually large, unwieldy SUV in downtown Vancouver, but I managed to find a spot. I left the car parked downtown and took a Lyft each night, because there was literally no way I was going to try to maneuver that big scary machine around the narrow roads of downtown. If you don't mind booking an economy car and then (surprise!!) having to drive the Titanic through a major city, this is your spot. If you don't mind unpredictability and have a good sense of humor, that's a plus. Don't mind a place that won't take any responsibility for their mismanagement of their fleet and won't work towards a better solution than "oh well" deal with it , then good for you. You are more easy going than me. If the thought of unexpectedly having to drive one of the largest vehicles one can rent (besides a Hummer) through the streets of a major city in abject fear after being unconvincingly told how incredibly lucky you are for this unwanted upgrade, while simultaneously feeling like the most unlucky person in the world, isn't your cuppa, well then, you have been warned. read more

Giving one star seem like one star too many. I reserved an SUV for a family trip. We retrieved the SUV and the attendant walks us across the street where the SUV was wedged in a parking stall. We did the customary walk around to review any damages. I photographed sections of the car. Unfortunately I was not thorough enough. Upon the return, the attendant points out damage to the side view mirror outer casing. I insisted that we had not run into anything and was furious with myself for not picking it up. It comes across as a scam. Do a quick walk around inspection and distract the customer in the hopes of sticking the damage upon return. Well it worked. Just got the bill from Enterprise. My fault for not getting his name, but the person (male) I just spoke with on the phone was quite possibly the least helpful person ever. The rental car given to me started to have lights go off on the dashboard, and is now telling me I need to change the oil. I called to ask this guy if there was anything we could do since we'd be leaving soon for a fairly long driving trip, and he literally told me he wouldn't be able to help because he's pretty busy right now. Being busy is fine, but he had no solution to offer, didn't put any effort in to asking more about the cars situation, etc. I normally don't write reviews, and I normally get pretty decent service from Enterprise... this guy is certainly not doing them any favors. It's a shame because we rent a lot of cars and this experience has now left the door open for us to search for other providers. I've been meaning to review this particular Enterprise for over a year now, based on a unfortunate (but humorous) event that led to a truly heroic assistance effort on Enterprise's part. I was on my way to Enterprise to pick up a car I'd rented for a long weekend (during their amazing $19.99/day for-a-long-weekend deal), via public transit. A friend had just called me on the phone, and, distracted, I got off the bus at my stop, leaving my purse on my seat, a fact that I realized only as I strode confidently up to the Enterprise Rental desk and reached...for...my...wallet. My face said it all. The young man behind the counter -- Dan -- immediately said: "Where'd you leave it?" and I said, crestfallen: "On the bus!" He rushed out from behind the counter, grabbed his coat and my other bag and said, "Let's go chase it!" Thus ensued a 1.5 hour car-bus chase, from Roosevelt and 65th to the 4th Ave depot, to the King County Administrative Offices (where lost and found items allegedly reside behind bullet-proof glass customer service windows). In the car, I called the King County Transit Hotline multiple times in an effort to find the driver and determine where he'd next be -- somehow, we were always 2 steps behind. Finally, I convinced the hotline operator to contact the transit driver, only to find that he'd gone on break and a new driver was taking over. I was told that the driver "said he had a purse" in his possession, and he would meet us at the corner of 80th and 15th NE....right back in the neighborhood we started in. Dan gunned us to the scene, I leapt out the door of the moving car as the bus pulled up to the stop, and I jumped into the bus, breathlessly asking if he had my purse. The driver told me to describe the contents, and then produced my bag, totally intact (iPod included). I thanked him profusely and ran back, exalted, to the car, where Dan and I drove laughingly back to the Enterprise office. 15 minutes later, I was driving to my destination, a good 3 hours late. I unexpectedly needed a rental car when an accident put my car in the shop. I had asked for an SUV with GPS...My reservation indicated a Mitsubishi, but when I got there it was a MASSIVE Chevy Tahoe or something? When I told them it wouldn't fit into my garage at home, they were able to do a quick change-up and put me in a cute little Fiat SUV with very little wait time. For a fairly tiny dealership, they seem to have a broad selection of vehicles. Check out and check back in was all via hand-held devices and very quick and efficient. My only worry was that there was no paper rental contract provided...nothing in the glove box to prove I had a right to the car, no car registration.... They assured me it would have been fine had I gotten stopped for something, and that I could have shown my e-mail confirmation--but as I said, my e-mail confirmation described a Mitsubishi, not the Fiat I ended up getting. SCAM!!!!! STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS. Dealt with dozens of Enterprise locations and this one is by far the most rude an unprofessional. When I renewed my contract they charged me for wear and tear on a tail light accusing me of causing the damage. If I caused the damage they would be surrounding impact damage. When I sent them pictures of the chip they assured me they would look at the damage when I returned the car as it didn't look like anything I would have caused in the pictures I sent. When I returned the car they kept assuring me they would have a manager look at it the next day only to have a different manager call me the next day ACCUSING ME OF causing the damage and overcharging me for the booking. Enterprise in the University Dist. has the worst service of ANY car rental companys I have EVER deal with, and I rent a lot of cars. We needed a car rental for a day, and was quoted 20 dollars, that's about right, yet when when we got there to pick the car up the Manager Matt Johnson bunped the price up to almost 70 dollars, he said the rental quote didn't include insurance, which would be almost 50 dollars more, this is a very shady operation, I wonder what costs would have been added if we would have rented the car there, I just read 1 review about this place and the guy said he was charged over 300 dollars. I have dealt with Enterprise before, usually quick and easy, but the manager that is there now is a real crook. Go ANYWHERE but there!!! I just waited for an hour for Matt to return my call, so he could explain to me about his double quotes, He said that No Enterprise cars have insurance on them and even thought he quotes 20 dollars a day it ends up being almost 70 dollars. In September of 2020 I reserved an SUV for one day so that I could pick up a chair I purchased in Tacoma. When I picked up the SUV it was an 80 plus degree day and I needed to drive in traffic for about 2 and 1/2 hours round trip. I headed out and about 15 minutes down the road it was clear that the air conditioner wasn't working. That wouldn't have been the worst thing except that it was blowing hot air. I pulled over and called to let the University branch of Enterprise know what was going on. I spoke to a man who first asked me if I knew how to turn on the air con. After I assured him I did, he said that I could call around to some other branches to see if they had an SUV because that was the last one from the University branch. I couldn't believe it. I told him that it seemed like he should be the one to do that. He then said that I could just bring it back and they would see what was going on. I told him that if I bring it back, I will miss my window of time to pick up the chair I ordered. As it turned out, I returned home without picking up the chair. When I returned the SUV the next day, they indeed saw that the air con was blowing hot air and that I had only driven about 12 miles. When I asked them for a credit of some type since I didn't make the trip I needed to make and since they couldn't provide a vehicle that I could use, the manager offered me $10. I ended up paying $77.53. I've used this branch several times but it has gone downhill. It's a shame the customer service was so poor. A few days later I went to Hertz and rented a car for 28 days. Through my work at the UW, we had to rent some vans from Enterprise a few months ago during a time when the UW Motor Pool had already checked out all their vans to other UW customers. We rented two vans and one car about two weeks before when we needed them to transport some bands who were flying in to perform at UW. We picked them up on a Friday afternoon. When we arrived, one of the vans was not there due to a previous client who was not only very late in returning that van, but who was not answering Enterprise's calls (We're not blaming Enterprise for this part, of course!). The van we got was nearly out of gas. The main reason we needed the vans were to move bands and their instruments to and from the airport. Due to some liability policy, Enterprise would not remove the rear seat of their vans which made it extremely awkward to get the gear in and out of the van. They did not have any other vans that had room for cargo. Initially Enterprise staff asked us if we could return to their office on Saturday to pick up the second van. We then asked for them to drop it off at the UW campus since we would be busy driving the talent around and working at other weekend events, and Enterprise agreed to this arrangement. However, the second van that we needed (from a Friday until a Tuesday) never showed up so we had to find another way of driving the bands and their equipment around. Perhaps much of this experience is really from the previous person who rented the van. However, we were disappointed that Enterprise had scheduled such a tight turn around between customers that they could not refill the gas in one vehicle. Lucky me. Lucky Me! My car was hit twice living in Seattle! Which then needed repairs and extended time for them and I had to get to work far away. I went with this Enterprise. Thinhs worked well. After messing around with taking the bus to them I then found out that they can pick you up! You must ask however. It was relatively smooth and not very expensive. There are times when they have phones answered by folks who are young and experienced and also times when only midsize or large cars are available .. so you have certain choices to make..... With all the recent snow and required AWD and/or chains and snow tyres, the staff asked if we were planning to venture out into the snow with an SUV. I said probably not. The manager came out and offered a sports car (Dodge Challenger) because the SUVs were in such high demand. He also offered to comp the gas as well! SCORE! The U-district Enterprise is a great option for last-minute car rentals. I was able to book mine merely seven hours before I got my hands on it! Unlike car2go or zipcar you don't have a 14-day waiting period with these guys which is extremely convenient. I got a cute Volkswagen Beetle in perfect condition for my trip to Snoqualmie and loved it! It's also much cheaper than RelayRides (now Turo), but - and this is why it's not a 5star review - the car insurance can be expensive. For me the rent was $30/day - which is awesome - but the basic insurance was $35. A friend suggested simply using my VISA credit card for this next time onwards, so maybe that'll make it cheaper. They are open long hours and have very friendly folks at the front desk. Will use this for my next road trip for sure. Highly recommend to U-district people looking for last-minute car rentals. read more

I walked in, gave them my last name, handed over my ID and credit card. The guy was very friendly and helpful. He went outside with me to check over the car and help with my bags. He pointed out a few scratches I wouldn't have noticed myself, and checked, "are you using your own insurance?" HOW NICE not to be given the sales pitch on insurance that I now brace myself for. I was not impressed with the Roosevelt location of Enterprise. We reserved a vehicle from them weeks in advance of our vacation. When the day for us to pick up the vehicle came, they did not have a car for us. Kelsey, the manager, acted like she couldn't be bothered and that's just the business went that weekend. No show of concern over disrupted vacation plans, no apologies for the inconvenience, nothing. A staff person did call us prior to our pick up time to ask us not to come in until they called us because the office was so busy. We now think that they simply did not have a vehicle for us and did not want to have to deal with us in person! Fortunately for us we had a day of float in our plans, so asked Kelsey if we could pick up a car the following morning. She said yes and we agreed upon an afternoon pick time. I called the next morning to make sure we were still a go for getting a car that day. Kelsey assured me that there would be a vehicle, she had drivers coming over from a Bellevue location with more cars she said. When we arrived at the Roosevelt location at the agreed upon time (a day later than our reservation, I remind you), we walk into the office and are told by a staff person that there are no vehicles. I told him that I had spoken to Kelsey that morning and she assured me there would be a vehicle for us. When Kelsey came into the office after helping another customer outside, she barely glanced our way and went about finishing up a task. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt that she told us she would be with us in a minute, but I don't actually remember that courtesy. When she finally turned her attention to us, there was not a shred of customer service from her. I was expecting some sort of acknowledgement that Enterprise had let us down. Nope. She acted like she was doing us a favor by offering us the pick up truck (we needed and reserved a car). She then acted like she was doing us a favor by calling another location to see if they had any cars. Thankfully, the Lake City location had a car...we just needed to drive up there to get it! Why Kelsey did not advise us to call another location the day before for a car, I do not understand. I was very disappointed in her poor customer service. Not having the rental car that you built your vacation around is a big deal. She may not have been able to fix the problem at her location (cars don't just materialize), but she should have showed that she cared and provided solutions in a friendly and helpful manner. Well, life has gotten the better of me and I just haven't gotten around to yelping much lately. However, Enterprise has been so extremely wonderful (on two occasions in the past couple of months) that I must put my busy schedule on hold and shed some light on this wonderful rental company and the fab people they employ. The first occasion I required a car, desperately I might add, though isn't it always a desperate situation when you find yourself renting a car - unless you are on vacation (I wish!). My own trusty Ford Focus had a fan issue which wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't in the middle of the 'snow storm' in Seattle and I couldn't defrost my windows, therefore I could not drive anywhere. Well, I decided to walk my girl Zoe down to Enterprise and they had me decked out in a fan-working automobile in no time. Now, when the time came to pick up my car from the mechanic, I drove to Enterprise with my canine companion Zoe and intended on briskly walking to the U-district to pick up my car. However, I was pleasantly surprised when Enterprise offered to drop myself and my sweet pittie at the mechanics and the lovely Enterprise woman didn't even mind the kisses from my pittie. Just last week I needed to visit my friends at Enterprise again since I found myself in a minor accident. The rear ender occurred early afternoon and in spite of a hectic rental day at Enterprise, they still managed to have me driving away in a car by 4.30pm. Another unfortunate occurred when I was informed by my insurance agent that my car was a write-off and so I needed to fund my own rental until we purchased a new car (that is a worthy of a whole other review about insurance agencies!). I called Enterprise and told them I would need the car for a little longer, they in turn told me the little dodge I was driving had been sold, but I could swing by and pick up another car. Well, it was the best thing that could have happened since I arrived to find that they had a Prius waiting for me at the same unbeatable price of $29 per day. We called again and another lady Lauren said then wait time would be 30 min, but after 45 min, they were a no show. We called once again and the guy who answered (David) said he did not even have our address to be picked up and that we would have to wait "45 more min". Staff is definitely trying to help the customer out and not take advantage. I knock off one star because I had to file an insurance claim for someone damaging my rental, and the staff was a little unclear as to who should deal with my insurance. After a week of waiting, I called Enterprise claims to check the status, and they told me it's my responsibility to file the claim. Minor confusion and it didnt result in any problems. read more

From the moment we walked in Theo was helpful and courteous. There was also another blonde gentleman working who was equally as nice. Theo gave us a great car, it was a "we pick" deal that we purchased and he actually wanted to make sure that we were happy with his suggested choice for a vehicle.
