I rent from enterprise multiple times a year. I think that era is over. I rented a car to drive out of town for the weekend and the car was not safe for the highway. When I got to my destination, I called this enterprise because I needed to swap out the car. They put me on hold and the guy told me the manager said they had no cars to give out and that was the end of their assistance. Just keep the dangerous car. looks like I'll be re-upping my membership that HERTZ again lysa, thanks for the response but that link leads to nowhere so I'm just in the same exact spot. Thought I had called my local rental agency, but instead was answered by a call center. I told them I was looking for a specific vehicle a Chevy tahoe or suburban. I was not looking to rent any other vehicle. Because every 5 years I buy a new one, so I wanted to test drive one for more than 10 minutes at the chevy dealerships, I like to drive them for 2 days to see if I am happy with it before I fork out $100.000.00 for one and not like it. Because once I sign the papers it is mine if I like it or not no $100,000.00 returns. So I called enterprise because I know you rent that specific SUV a Chevy Tahoe and if you check my past rentals for over 30 years of loyalty I only rent Chevy Tahoe or Chevy silverado, or GM made Cadillacs before I buy one. I do not rent anything else from your company. They said my local agency had that one available and ready to rent to me. So this is where it gets heading down insulting me once I get to the local agency. The woman I spoke with at the call center said hang up and redial the number and hit star at the beginning and it will go to the local agency. So I called back and told them that I had talked to a call center and they said you have the vehicle I want to rent and can you pick me up as you have always done in the past. They said no we will not pick you up because you are over five miles from us. Did not know you had changed your pick up radius after covid to only five miles so me and the girl argued over that so she was insulting and unhappy with me. So ok I told them I have to get a cab to get there they said ok, it cost me $12.00 for 1 way. So when I get to the agency and ask if they can deduct the cost of my cab from the price of $24.00 because I have to use the same cab back once I return the rental. They said no and because the girl I had spoke to about picking me up was not happy I questioned her about the pick up radius telling her you did it over the last 30 years why not now since I rent only one of the most expensive rentals you have. So back to the insulting me at the agency. I tell them I want the Chevy Tahoe and they tell me there is no way we are going to rent you the Tahoe. You get a jeep wagoneer and I tell them I am not going to be buying any jeep product and that I am getting this rental to test drive the Tahoe before I buy a new one just like I have always done in the past they said we do not care what you want either take the jeep wagoneer or Ford expedition or go somewhere else you are not getting the Tahoe. I was going out of town for 2 days for my company I own to Gainesville, Fl to oversee my crews of my painting company so I thought why not rent a Tahoe since I am going to buy one in a few weeks for a Christmas present to myself. So now I have paid a cab to take me here and they are gone now. So instead of going through a bunch of crap to get a cab back home and then find another rental company that has a Chevy Tahoe because now I do not really want to rent from Enterprise anymore after being insulted. So I take that Jeep I do not want because the Tahoe parked 2 cars over I cannot have that I specifically asked for, because I need to get ready to leave town not spend hours trying to locate another rental agency for a Tahoe. So the Jeep was nasty windows were nasty and very poorly clean and not very clean on the outside mud all up around the inner door openings when you opened the doors was just very poorly washed. And the rear passenger quarter panel had some nasty a-- tape residue all over it that looked disgusting with dirt attached to it and just needed some denatured alcohol to clean it off, but was left on for a $140.00 a day rental to look nasty as it drives around town with the enterprise logo sticker in the window.I think corporate needs to do a unannounced visit to that agency and see how bad they make your company look, by poorly cleaned cars when I pay a $140.00 for a rental that thing needs to be spotless clean not some quick half a-- job where I can hardly see through the windows when the sun hits it.They are not there for the customers needs they are there to tell you what nasty uncleaned vehicles they want to rent to you, take it or leave it just as they told me. We do not care if you got a cab here to rent a Tahoe that is sitting 2 cars over from the Jeep you have to take whether you like it or not go somewhere else. Your employees are telling someone that just rented a cab to get there and is now stuck, and is willing to pay $140.00 for and want me to call another cab and to go to another rental company, that sounds like they do not want your company to thrive it sounds like they want your competition to have your customers. I am a company owner and if my employees did any of the crap your employees did to me I would have fired everyone of them in that office and trash them when they go to be hired somewhere else. It sounds like to me your employees need to work for your competitors so they can send you their Hertz/budget. read more

I don't know why it seems weird to me to rent a car in my hometown, but it does. I always feel like I'm going to be questioned 'why' or something, but I/we never are. On that note, for various reasons we've rented a car from this location. They call to confirm our rental (or we call them) which never happens at an airport. When you show up they have your car ready, and in a few cases you may get to choose. The staff is always super friendly too. We've been burned by a rental car company in the past, and once you've been burned you become a pain in the hu-hu on the walk around (like we are). They get it...they understand and happily annotate all of our concerns...and we really appreciate that! Sometimes we can walk in and bam...get right to the car! Other times, well...it goes without saying that they get busy at times and you may have to wait and not get your vehicle the instant you walk in...be patient. It's not the airport, but no matter the location...you still have to wait until it's your turn. This is a small location...be glad they are here (insert smile)! I'd like to give a shout-out to the staff...you may have guessed that I would say that the staff is always super friendly and helpful, but I'm sorry to say I can't remember the 2 ladies names that work in there (sorry ladies...Thank You though). I can remember Graysen (sp?) because he manages to check us back in when we return...Thanks Graysen! There is a slight downside to this location, but not enough for me to lower a star by any means. I need to let you know about the parking lot situation. The front lot (the original lot) is small and hard to get in and out of. When picking up, don't go in there, just drive past the building and park in the lot on the backside of the building (the new lot--for the lack of a better term). The lot on the backside can get packed too, but your chances of turning around to get out are better, and/or parking temporarily if there are two of you to pick up a vehicle it's better to park there. Keep the front lot for the returns (in my opinion). Plus, there is a car wash/vacuum bay area at the back...if it's empty, don't park in there...that is not a parking space. There is a gentleman that works in there trying to turn vehicles around for rental purposes when vehicles are returned. He needs to do his job, so please let him. We had to wait one time to get a vehicle that was returned so we could rent it due to someone parking in there and the vehicle we were waiting on needed to be cleaned. Moreover, in case you are wondering...no, there is no way to get from one parking lot to the other beyond the bay area. Please be courteous...they know the parking lot is tight and it's not their fault. With St Augustine growing, perhaps they will move to a different location one day...in the meantime, it is what it is. On an end note: If you aren't an Enterprise Plus member, you should think about joining. Read about the perks on their webpage...I highly recommend it. read more

The current location is cramped. Why cramped you might ask? Well, the facility has no real parking for their twenty some cars. We had no where to park to pick up at the location and had to park at a nearby business that has signs asking not to. Late in the afternoon it gets crowded of waiting customers while employees have to figure out how to move their cars around to get a rental out for a customer. They have the cars double and triple parked. There is enough seating while waiting inside when it gets backed up. Dropped the rental off recently and planned ahead and had my ride park nearby to wait for me at a nearby business. This time, I parked the rental up front and made eye contact with an employee who had seen me enter business. They decided to take a car to get it vacuumed instead of just taking my keys. Guess they were the only employee working because no one else was there. Walked back out and placed keys in lock box to avoid waiting and left. This was at 1:00pm. Then they want to charge me for another day because they didn't check the lock box until following morning. It was parked in front of the main door and I guess they never noticed it? Luckily they ultimately did not charge me for the extra day, because of their lack of service. Would have gave a lower rating. We're going to Budget located at the nearby Wal-Mart next time as we have had success there in the past. Good luck. So as of 4/10/2018, I see that Enterprise responded to this post but did not add an option to make a public response. I am not seeking freebies only to make them and customers aware of the issues. No need to respond as I plainly laid it out as to what occurred. I am sure you can check the time cards as only one employee was at the lot at the time I dropped the car off around 1:00pm. Again, I am not totally disheartened as the one female that worked with us at pickup was very courteous and fast paced. No reflection on her, only on the management and business practice. Rented a car through Expedia for a noon pick up. I was leaving town at 4 pm when I arrived they were very efficient and got me right into my mustang convertible. After leaving I realized it sounded as if it had an exhaust leak and I took it back to them. I met with Ryan who along with his manager looked over the car and offered me anything they had on the lot but I needed a convertible for my trip. Within minutes Ryan had located a Camaro convertible at another location and had it picked up and delivered to my house. This was in my opinion above and beyond my expectations so hats off to the staff at the St. Augustine enterprise store especially Ryan. read more

I was visiting town and made a stop to rent a car at this location with no success. As soon as I walked in Kelsey Walsh was rude and instead of saying hello or greeting me and my Dad, told me "hold on". I then proceeded to reserve a vehicle with a different employee and as he asked for her assistance she told me there wasn't a way for me to rent the vehicle. Didn't offer any other options just told me nope, it can't be done and went back to her seat. I had to leave this location and was treated incredibly rude and dismissive. Simple courtesy goes a long way and she lacks it. I'll never be returning and here and hope to help anyone else considering this location. read more

As far as car rentals go this place is great. The staff is friendly and the manager, Heather, is the best. She also-somehow-finds time to call you the day after just to make sure you like the car and had a good experience checking in. That says a lot. They have a weekend special. $10 a day and you get it from Friday to Monday. You get a compact but that's all we need. We are cruisers and don't have a car so this is a little more then getting a taxi but worth it (because we go sightseeing too). Would recommend this location to anybody. Will be back. read more

I like this enterprise they were really good Travis was the one that help me with my car he was super friendly super helpful made sure I was comfortable asked if I had any questions. Then when we got back he was very kind and he help me out with the gas and I just really liked the experience I had. I would recommend them they are very nice. I actually went to get a car from the one in the mall on SR-16 and they didn't have what I wanted so they called over and made sure that this one did so I went over there. Ok, let me start off by saying that we've rented cars here in the past and we have had excellent service. One gentlemen moved and the other woman was unfortunately not there today. Our family memeber is in the hospital and we were in desperate need of a vehicle to go 3 hours north. We have credit cards that we only use to keep our credit good so unfortunately the limit wasn't enough to get the CAR and deposit- EVEN THOUGH, I called them 2x before we drove all the way over there to make sure we could use debit if need be and we're relying on them to get us to our family emergency. They told us over the phone that a debit card would suffice and then renigged that statement completely so we tried to pay our deposit with our CC but that wasn't even good enough. They said we couldnt pay with our debit card until once we came home and that a credit card would have to do NOW . How is that our debit card has money to pay NOW (obviously that's how they work) but they want a CC that most people don't even pay off? Regardless to say the staff (2girls) were awful and we will NEVER rent from them again which is sad because our wedding is in 2 months here and our previous experiences were so good that we recommended everyone rent down there. BUT. NEVER. AGAIN. Super, super disappointed. read more

This enterprise has extremely shady operations. The manager claimed I did damage to a vehicle that I rented. I had the vehicle for 12 hours and the damage he said I did had rust on it! I will never be going back. They harassed me and stressed me out for a week about the damage until the damage recovery unit realized that they were in the wrong. First off they didn't have the car I reserved. When I asked, why can't I have the Cadillac that's on the lot? I was told "it was sold yesterday." That sounded fishy to me. Secondly, I felt like I was being a burden when I asked for a ride back to my condo. I was told "that's a little too far for us." Seriously, 5 miles and 11 minutes is too far? I specifically rented from Enterprise because they offer rides. I plan on coming back to St Augustine at least two more times in 2018. I definitely won't be renting from this location again. I was involved in a car accident yesterday and my insurance company set me up with this location on Us1 south. I received a call right away and was told they didn't have any cars but could accommodate me the next day after 12:30. My adjuster came in the morning and asked if I was getting a rental because he noticed we did not have one here. He researched and saw that the request had been cancelled and offered to submit another request. I then called to see if a car would still be available and was told they just got my order and could not get a car for me until after 3:00. I explained I already spoke to someone yesterday but he denied ever having the original claim. Save yourself the hassle, this company is inept! I have an account with Enterprise, I have used several times in the past. I set up a rental with the company in advance and I went to the location I thought was my pick up point and found out it was closed, had to go to another enterprise 30 miles away and when I got there I found out that in the small print it says you cannot use a debit card if you live more than 50 miles from said location. The manager, Isaac, called me a liar for telling him that I had a credit card which is what I call my debit card I have never had any problem with it before and as I said I have an account with Enterprise and have used the same debit card to rent a truck just a year and a half ago. I asked to speak to the supervisor, he was supposed to call me back, but never did. Wasted my time, good thing i wasn't in a hurry. I'd call Avis if you run into the same problem. I don't like being called a liar by the manager and will never do business with Enterprise again! No wonder Enterprise is going out of business! read more

As a full-time cruiser, traveling the east coast on my boat, I rely on Enterprise. In a world where customer service is hit or miss, the St. Augustine South store understands and goes the extra mile, literally.Full disclosure: I am a frequent-renter and rely on my team to pick me up and keep the administrative tasks simple and quick. I expect clean, low mileage cars in great condition. And getting picked up and delivered to the dock, is not just a perk, it's the only way I roll. FIVE STAR RATING for this shop. On the corporate level there are a few glitches they need to work on, although they seem to be constantly improving. I.e. Very tight inventory and staffing has caused delays on pick ups and avail abilities for friends of mine. Handy App does not allow for free upgrades. My vehicle was in the shop and the manger at the repair shop called Enterprise and told me they would be there in 45 minutes to pick me up. 15 minutes later a vehicle pulled up and ask if someone needed a ride.
