On October 27th, 2023, an employee of this store ran into my parked Corvette with an Enterprise company vehicle. Its been over a year now and I still haven't been compensated by the Enterprise Damage Claims unit for the damage or missing out on a year of use waiting for their appraisers to come by who never showed up. Nobody at Enterprise reached out to me at any point of this process. It's always been me making contact and them just kicking the can down the line. Keep telling me they need another week when they've had over forty weeks already. Now they're on the "Checks in the mail" run around acting like it still takes 4-6 weeks for mail to be delivered, when its more like 3 days for regular mail and an insurance check should have been overnighted or at least certified priority mail. Supposedly checks have been mailed USPS three times and FedEx overnight once and they expect me to believe all those got lost when I don't have any issues with other mail being lost. No tracking information was provided for any of them, probably because they haven't actually mailed one. Just wasting more time. They didn't need anything else the first four times the check was supposedly sent, now before sending it a 5th time they suddenly needed a copy of my title for some reason. I was assured multiple times that the check would be here on Thursday, if not Friday at the latest. Its now Monday and I still haven't seen it. Over a year since your company damaged my vehicle and nothing has been done about it except many hours wasted and a season down the drain that I'll never get back. How long could I get away with doing nothing if I smashed up one of your crappy fleet vehicles? I bet your car was fixed right away. read more

I have a cooperate discount that is supposed to be applied IN STORE (happens every other time I've done business with this place ) for whatever reason , they didn't honor it . Dominik and crew love to withhold information and charge fees without informing you. This isnt my 1st issue with this place and so shame on me for being burnt twice. I was hit by a car and their insurance covered it. I was picking up the rental and I was asked "what type of car do you drive?" I answered and was given a car based on my answer. Of course, they didn't tell me the car they gave me was $20 extra a day. I found out by a voicemail that said I paid "some" out of pocket fees. Shady in the beginning and shady at the end. We will NEVER rent from enterprise again. They rent out cars with EXPIRED REGISTRATION!!!! Then act like it's not a big deal. I was told by a ENTERPRISE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP that's it too difficult to keep track of all of the car's registrations as they can be dropped off at different facilities. I was hung up on twice when asked to speak to a supervisor cause I'm just kinda mind blown that we were even given this car. The registration was expired months ago. It literally says it on the registration card in the glove box. What kind of BS is that. Was also told that supervisors who are there at the facilities will not take calls....this has been the absolute worst car rental experience we have ever had. read more

Took an hour to pick up reserved rental due to staff running hard to do many things, having to wait for help or approval from other frantic busy staff. Definitely miss leading mainly of the pricing. First 500 plus 300 then charged me 230 because I was late 2 hrs . Supposedly im getting 300 but suffered a late charge of 230. Good crist what a rip off. After saying something I was told there's a chip shortage so higher costs are applied. Next time Definitely not them. I had better experience at my urologist. I've rented from here several times and always had decent experiences. I have a standard SUV rented for tomorrow through the Costco Travel Program. They called this evening to tell me they will not have one available first thing in the morning because it needs an oil change. They offered me a smaller Intermediate SUV at the same price. Usually far rental companies will upgrade you not downgrade you at the same price. When I asked about how the pricing should be less they said they couldn't reduce the price because of the Costco pricing being discounted 7%. The Costco price is $120 less for the intermediate SUV. The communication and organization of this facility was the absolute worst experience from the get go. Our rental was transferred due to not having a car at the location due to clerical error on their end, after having to make the switch my rental was delayed For several hours and several false promises that it would be taken care be multiple times leaving me at my work with no mode of transportation. I was finally given the car and what should have been a 50.00 security deposit turned into 100.00 and then after not communicating proper information between one location to another they did not return my deposit but in addition charged my cc the entire amount of the rental. I am now being given a run around with getting my refund and them billing the proper insurance company that made my reservation from the start so this should have been a very easy transaction. The Customerservice is pretty bad and the manager of the branch could use some classes on how to deal with mistakes made by the company he works for In my opinion they don't even deserve 1 star but I had to give them something I recommend going elsewhere for a car rental.. read more

I've been renting from Enterprise for over 25 years and the North Plainfield location for 10, sometimes for personal out of town trips and several times for work thru the companies me and my wife worked for. Prices used to be really good specially on weekend rentals but lately their prices and their service have been down hill, specifically the north Plainfield store on Rt 59. Daily rates have pretty much doubled and so did the LWD waiver. Every time I go their to get a car there is a different crew and mangement and the service would fluctuate between good and mediocre but I stuck with them because the location was really close to my house and sometimes they will drop me off or pick me up. Also another reason was they had a decent corporate discount for the companies we worked for and for our insurance companies like Allstate, so sometime I do take advantage of those benefits to get a better rate when applicable. This was never a problem in the past until today when I called to confirm my reservation for a minivan for my family trip next week when the person who answered the phone told me my corporate discount for my insurance company that I have used several times in the past was not allowed anymore ( new policy) and proceded to give the new quote which was more than double what I received initially, and my two choices were to either accept or he will be glad to cancel my reservation. At this point I was really upset and I explained to him that I made this reservation over a month ago and why nobody bothered to tell me about this earlier so I have a chance to find an alternative vehicle in time for my travel. His answer was sorry nothing I can do about it. Now I have to scramble at the last minute hoping to find a suitable alternative on a short notice since every company in my area are sold out of vans. read more

I get there they try to upgrade me with a mini van when that's the last thing I want . Most unreliable Enterprise center in IL. If you have definitive plans to go anywhere using the rental car, DO NOT rent here! Because it is conveniently located near my home, J keep make the mistake of reserving a car with them. 50% of time they either do not have cars (after reserving) or have a wrong size of car. The folks behind the counter act dumb founded that this is upsetting to customers. Today I was told there are no cars in spite of my reservation and it is just like airlines - some times you just don't get your seat though you booked. Never happened to me ! This is a really great Enterprise location - Jeremy and team are friendly, courteous and always do a great job. There are a handful of Enterprise locations close by, but hands down, this is my favorite. They even found my sunglass that I thought I would never see again! And my favorite part? I rented a vehicle for business, paid my tolls incurred, and now continue to get billed double from Enterprise for the tolls paid. I sent supporting documentation to Enterprise, they see the tolls paid. The Illinois Tollway says the tolls are paid. But the billing continues and no one seems to be able to help! I was involved in a not at fault accident. I filed a claim with the other persons insurance (Allstate). They setup a rental through Enterprise. The Allstate rep I spoke to said that Allstate would cover everything except gas and mileage. When I went to pick up the rental at Enterprise, the rep wanted to sell me insurance. I asked her if it would be billed to Allstate, and she said yes. She was, however, nice enough to upgrade my rental to a Dodge Challenger. Two weeks after returning the car, Enterprise contacts me stating I owe them $600 for the insurance. I thought it was a mistake, but the person on the phone said the insurance company typically does not cover insurance, which I thought odd since the previous rep said they would. He later acknowledged that since I have full coverage on my personal auto policy, that it would have covered the rental as well, thus making it unnecessary to buy "extra" insurance. But since I signed my name on the dotted line, I'm on the hook. I called Allstate and they refused to acknowledge that they failed to warn me that they would not cover the rental insurance, but also mentioned that my full coverage would've covered the rental. I can admit that I'm an idiot for not knowing how insurance works, but it does seem odd that both parties knew the rules, yet failed to explain it to me before taking my money. If you are going to sell someone insurance, maybe you could ask them if they already have insurance? It just seems like shady, poor business practice. I suppose there's no law against making a lot of money by preying on someone's lack of intelligence. They were nice enough to cut the bill in half, but paying $300 because someone could have but chose not to explain the rules, leaves a bad taste in my mouth. So... of course I have to be spiteful and recommend to everyone I know never to do business with Enterprise (or Allstate for that matter). Very shady place. I rented a car here while getting a repair at the nearby body shop. It was my first time renting a car myself (my husband usually does it). I was given an "upgrade" because they had no other cars except an Audi. The manager made a big show of the "discount" I was getting. He handed over the contract and asked if I wanted the extra insurance. I replied no, that my husband never gets it who rents at that location all the time. The manager said, "Ok, sign this insurance waiver," so I did. I return to drop off the car five days later and get a bill for $300 even though insurance covered the rental. I asked why, and the same manager told me it was the cost of the extra insurance. What? I told you I didn't want the insurance and signed the waiver you gave me. He told me that signing the waiver means you are accepting the insurance. Um, ok? I was basically told "Tough luck, read the fine print next time." Ok. So glad you make money by actively deceiving first-time renters. Thanks for carefully explaining the contract and providing excellent customer service. The entire team at this office is courteous, helpful and provide great customer service. I was in and out of the check in process in about 5 minutes and on my way for our family road trip. I rent about once a month and am a Plus member, but I was surprised to find my name posted on a VIP list which provided expedited service and no waiting in line. The minivan I rented was clean and ready to go. This suburban location is definitely a shining example of how business should be conducted and is an improvement over the Enterprise city location where I've rented in the past. Deceptive!!! I rented a vehicle at Plainfield Il and moved to Crossville TN. The car I reserved was not available so they upgraded me. "Bonus" I thought. After I've had the vehicle for more then 30 days, enterprise called me and said I need to redo paperwork, but I could continue renting same vehicle at same price if I choose. I agreed and asked if I should ho to my local branch in TN or, since I had plans to travel to Chicagoland the following week that I could stop there to resign the contract on thanksgiving eve. The branch manager said it could wait till I was in town. So not more then 12 hrs before I arrived at the Plainfield IL branch, the branch mgr called me to see I I was on my way to IL and assured me once again that I will be there to resign the paperwork and rerent vehicle same price. I was already 2 hrs on the road and told him I will be there as scheduled. I arrived on thanksgiving eve shortly after 2pm. They acted as if they were preparing the paperwork for me to sigh then asked for keys to check mileage. They took keys and said that they will no rent me the vehicle, nor rent me another vehicle without explanation, refusing to give me a ride. In fact they handed me a $1300 receipt, paid in full and kicked me, my child, my 2 dogs and luggage out to the curb in Chicago weather on Thanksgiving Eve, over 600 miles away from home. We waited nearly 3 hrs in the cold for the closest relative to pick us up. I acted on enterprises assurance, and drove 10 hrs away from home, leaving my own vehicle at home so that we had more reliable, comfortable trip during holidays only to get duped, deceived, scammed and stranded. You better believe I am outraged and I do not have $3000 to fly my family him on short notice during busiest travel season. That vehicle was my ride home this weekend. I suspect the upgrade that i got was losing them money at a rate of $100/day and is what provoked them to use deceptive practice and lure me 600+ miles from home, because they dont know how to hold a reservation and now its my problem. I acted on their assurance and I will be taking my complaint up the chain and pursue a law suit... Emotions distress, punitive damages, deception. This is outrageous when all they had to do was tell me they want their vehicle back and I would have taken it to my local branch and paid the registration transfer fees and not have gotten stranded in the cold with my child and dogs, far far away from home. I'm a customer and paid for the rents in full, but was treated like I'm a thief. read more

The representatives at this location are very personable like car sales men and are always giving a reassuring smile regardless of how confident they are in the vehicles they put people in. Picked up a vehicle from this location and the car ran fine 45 mph and under but the steering wheel shook nearly uncontrollably once the car got anywhere above it. The vehicles stink and the inside of the vehicles has all kinds of mess spread on the windows and front and back windshield. Car looked lightly vacuumed, still dirty... dust and comb webs on the dash... spills in the back seat area, smelled like a lightly smoked out car, or like something old died inside...overall coming to this rent a center was the horrible. Long wait in line regardless of if you have reservation or not. Company calls you early on to let you know they will have a vehicle for you( makes you feel special) but the reality is they treat everyone like just another foot in the door. While I waited inside I noticed they were literally giving people cars that were just dropped off without inspecting how the vehicle drives or anything. They have a "look good" policy. As long as it looks okay, it's good enough for a customer. No special care taken here by representatives. Cleaning crew needs to really step it up. My own car is regularly more clean than their rentals and I was trained to do anything, I simply cared enough to clean it properly and keep it clean, minding it as a investment. Enterprise does not care.... worse experience ever... A car rental shouldn't make you miss your own car immediately... where is the red carpet experience? White glove service? General care about the customers safety and comfortability? Great salesman attitudes, terrible vehicles, terrible care. These guys are terrible, Alexander Flood said they would take 50 for a down payment to cover their rental car and it would go right back onto my card after I returned the vehicle, they ended up taking out over 120 dollars. Will not use this location again! Maybe not Enterprise at all! Warning...take pictures of your rental, inside and out! Returned my car and the employee came back in and said there were small dents in the door. Don't know for sure this happened while I had the car! Could have been from someone opening a car door in to the rental door. They were barely noticeable, yet he wrote up a change in condition report and filed it with Enterprise. Now I have to deal with a claim on my insurance. I've heard other stories about Enterprise and this tactic! Be careful, and never drop your car without someone to verify condition! read more
