I am travel nurse, and Mom of 2 younger children. I have my own current vehicle but my husband uses the vehicle for work. My travel agency reimburses me for travel. So, I decided to rent from Enterprise on Long Island in Medford, NY. I have been renting since the beginning of 2024, I have only rent 3 different vehicles and have taken care of them, no accidents/damages. I paid in full all my reservations every 4 weeks and renewed. I had pneumonia and a stomach virus for 12 days. I hadn't updated my reservations for a 8 days but also they had my $300 deposit on file. When my family got over this sickness, I immediately called to update my payment. I was told I was reported to risk Management? A "manager" called me named Mattie Smith (sounds like a fabricated name) told me return the car and we appreciate your business and put me on the do not rent list. They expect me also pay extra monies toward this rental. I will not and won't. I will also be reporting to this BBB, never received a deposit back even though I was told I was receiving one, then when you ask the branch they said they added to my reservation. I also kept up with oil changes, brakes and tire care for there cars. This is not professional and sounds and looks like people abusing there power. How can a million dollar company how incompetent and unprofessional managers allowing such nonsense happen? I recommend not renting from Enterprise in Medford, NY. I travel to Long Island several times a year, and most always rent my vehicle from Enterprise on the 112. They always have a car for me, and I have never had any serious issues. Their cars are always clean and ready to go. Shout out to Michele C., the Management Trainee, for helping me out and making sure I received the car I needed. My experience with enterprise rent a car is based on customer service. I rented a vehicle because my vehicle was being repaired due to a no fault accident. The customer service is lacking due to poor communication. It is very important to communicate with a customer when your expectations are to charge for a service. My debit card was kept on file with the understanding that any charges other than the deposit would be authorized by myself. Not only was this not true but nearly two weeks after the return of the rental there was an additional charge added to my debit card of which I did not authorize. When I requested a return call from the manager Matt for an explanation as to why my card was charged without my authorization, my request was never answered. Not only is this unprofessional but very poor as far as customer service. I would not recommend dealing with this location until they focus on training their employees concerning better customer service. read more

This is not against this Enterprise in this location I was unable to find a location I was trying to write a bad review about. Me and my wife were renting a car for my daughter's wedding down in Florida. Unfortunately for this event my wife passed away I called them up to transfer my name on has the driver they told me they cannot do this which doesn't make any sense but that is their rules so I asked them to book a different reservation under my name and they said not a problem but they cannot honor the price I think that is so sad and not good for business especially in the circumstance of losing a loved one. They charged me more almost $70 more due to the circumstances. And then they tell me to go online it would be cheaper which was false I ended up having to make three phone calls by the time I was able to set my car up for the upcoming event of my daughter's wedding. I did not want to use this company but that's all I'm it was the only company that had any cars available for this event in October. I would never use them again after this upcoming event. Even if they probably gave me the call for free. This is what I call sad business.... UPDATE: After careful consideration, enterprise reinstated my mother the original price quoted before the cancelation mishap and also gave her an additional 10% off ( definitely the type of service I originally expected, and it makes me wonder if this review helped). I have subtracted 1 star for overall inconvenience and another star for the professional demeanor of their corporate customer service supervisor. My mother accidentally cancelled a car she was supposed to receive and they would not reinstate the car with the original rate (not even 5 min after she cancelled it accidentally) instead they wanted to charge her 40$ more a day. After she expressed her disbelief to the young kids working, she decided to call corporate and was met with a very rude and monotone supervisor that was cutting her off and laying down the law. I expect to see service like this from a small buisness but def not an established and very large franchise.. It makes me wonder how much longer it will take with reviews like these and the mistreatment of their "previously" dedicated customers before they're out of buisness indefinitely. read more

The people that work there aren't on the up n up the employee's aren't trained in the proper information to give to customers. When I ran into a few issues with the vehicle I rented from them they gave me a very hard time. I spoke to employee Kelly Dueffert which is the person that checked the car out to me which had just been returned by another customer, the car wasn't cleaned nor disinfected prior to giving the vehicle to me after just being returned from another customer. With the world dealing with the coronavirus you have to take every necessary precaution I had to disinfect the vehicle myself. I also had Encountered electrical issues where I was driving and another passer-byer told me there was wires hanging out the underneath the vehicle which has been duck taped. There Customer service leaves something to be desired. Talk to assistant manager Caleb who told me to only talk to him in regards to issues with my vehicle, then when returning my vehicle after having a flat and repairing it myself was told I was not going to be reimbursed for tire I paid for outa of pocket as this happened on my way to work. I pulling into the closest tire place n got a tire so not to miss out on my days pay Sitting on the side of the road for who knows how long. Then even with the receipt and paperwork they still refuse to reimburse me for the tire that was now on their vehicle I spoke to the manager John call at first refused to give me the number to corporate and then eventually did as my aunts demanded that they give me their names and information I needed so I can contact corporate to deal with the issue at hand. If u are looking for a reliable establishments to rent a vehicle from I do not suggest that you go to the enterprise in Medford on route 112 pick any other one beside them very very bad customer service!!!!!!! read more

They do offer some specials where you supposedly get a car at a cheap rate, but once you add up all the extras, plus tax, it is not so cheap afterall. I do rent cars most of the time when I travel to places over 2 hours as I do not like to put wear and tear, plus mileage on my car. It is just a shame that all the add ones really bring that price up there and YES, they are a bit pushy about it as well read more

Rented vehicles here on two occasions. I had a very good experience here, as far as communication, friendliness and professionalism go. I cant comment on their prices, insurance paid most of my bills but I would reccomend pricing rentals on the internet from a couple other major named companies for comparison anyway. I did like their options for upscale, fun or sporty cars, as my ins. deductible allowed me to treat myself to something that Is excessive for my needs. I received a phone call the day after I picked up my rental asking how everything was going with the car and did I have any questions or concerns. I received a similar phone call from the manager, Alex, last night after I returned the car. This has been the worst experience. We needed a rental car last minute and came into the Shirley location. They let us know they had no availability and gave us the Medford locations number to call ourselves and find out if there was availability. We did, they told us they had a car for us, gave us a rate of $38 a day and said we could pick up now. We get an uber and are more than halfway there when they call and tell us that they actually don't have a car for us but we can get a truck for $100 more a day. I've called multiple enterprises in the area trying to get a car and they all somehow have no cars and no idea on when they will have a car. I'm appalled that they would pull a bait and switch trying to trap people who have no way of getting around into traveling long distances to get a car that was never actually there then try and charge me $100 more. My company uses enterprise as their preferred rental car, I'll be making strong suggestions to switch to a company who trains their employees to have ethics. read more

Proceed with caution. Actually don't proceed, just stay away. Such a frustrating experience and so much out of pocket cost when its was supposed to be covered 100% by insurance. My husband was hit by another driver so we needed to get him a rental car while his vehicle was being fixed. The enterprise employee went through our insurance "to get us a better car" he said. We were allotted 40$ a day. Well that does not included taxes and fees apparently and insurance does not cover that. We get a bill in the mail. When I called I was told if we went through the other persons insurance it would have been covered, they would have made sure we were in a car within the insurance limits. Really?? They would have made sure to stay within the other person's insurance limits but not stay within my own? So now we are responsible for paying money to rent a car we only needed because of the negligence of someone else and due to the fact that the employee used our own insurance and didn't try to stay within the limits of our own insurance. The branch manager was no help in the matter. I was told that they provided a service and we signed the documents. Ridiculous. read more
