By far the worst renatal car location I have ever been to in my life. Gentleman at the counter was extremely rude, and did not offer any assistance or alternative options for a customer in need. I was very impressed by the team at this location. I made a reservation for a premium car online, one day in advance. When I arrived, they were out of that car class. After speaking with a supervisor, I was able to walk the lot and was upgraded to a vehicle of my liking, a 2024 GMC Yukon Denali. I made a reservation and on the day of pick up one hour before they called me to tell me they didn't have a car for me and then proceeded to say that I had told them the previous day when they called me that I stated I might not need the car when, indeed, I NEVER said that. The fact that they are lying is a unacceptable! I had a vehicle reserved for me at the Ledgewood office by my insurance company following an accident. I verbally declined any additional coverage while speaking to the representative. Had the vehicle for 28 days and was surprised to see almost $500 in charges for coverage I did not agree to after picking up the car. When I brought this to the attention of management, I was told "We have your signature." They've been ignoring my calls ever since. Have escalated this through Enterprise and have also filed a complaint with the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs. Take your business elsewhere. These people are crooks. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS ENTERPRISE!!!! I am down over $500 that they are refusing to refund me and ignoring me. I got into an accident and had to get a rental car. I was not aware that my insurance that I had on my car would also cover my rental. The workers here are aware of this because they deal with these situations every day. This was my first accident so I didn't know how it worked. They are supposed to explain to you that your insurance might cover the rental. They never explained this to me and I didn't think my insurance for one car would cover a rental car. They offered me different levels of coverage per day and I decided to go with the most coverage. I didn't need this coverage because I was already fully covered with my own insurance. After 2 weeks with the rental I spoke with my insurance company and figured out I didn't need the coverage. When I called enterprise to explain the situation they said that the person who checked me out did explain this to me. I insisted that they did not otherwise I would not have purchased the additional coverage. It's been over a month now and the manager is still refusing to refund the money. That's a lot of money that they never would have had in the first place if they had done their job correctly. IF YOU WANT THIS REVIEW REMOVED REFUND MY MONEY!!!!!!!!!!! Amazing service from Thomas Dolson and his team. This guy really pulled through to help us find a vehicle that we could use to move our son to college. Unfortunately, we got rear ended and had to put our car in the shop 4 days before moving my son to another state. It was a long weekend and there were no cars available, all had been reserved a long time ago. We were in a state of panic as the only car available was way too small for the move and my son had to be in college on a certain day, we could not delay without incurring significant costs. Thomas was so professional and was able to find us a suitable car a day before the move. I know this was not easy for him to do as I, myself, called many locations and other car companies to find a large vehicle that would do the job. No one had anything. 3-7-22 I thought they were just incompetent. No--they are liars and scammers and thieves. They told us "the hold was released and we needed to contact Amex". Now, three weeks later, the car has "extensive damage" and the $500 is a "legit charge". Okay, you realized it was a corporate account and decided that no one would care if you stole money from a corporate rental. You guys are thieves plain and simple. They made a mistake. Instead of putting a $500 hold on the card they charged the card an extra $500. Obvious mistake, right? Maybe not since it is now over three weeks later, "we can't do anything about it" (Ledgewood branch) and corporate is still trying to figure it out. I have had a similar experience to the other negative reviews at this branch. It is the second time renting here. First was very good, though they only had suv and trucks. I went w the suv that time paying $5-7 more a day then insurance. Everything went very smoothly unlike w this current rental They never told me until I'm outside that they had no cars again, only option was a pick up truck or suv but we'd have to wait. I explained i was uneasy w a pick up truck but spent half the day back and forth on the phone with them. On the phone they said they would pick me up and have a rental comparable to my toyota sedan. After barely using the truck I could no longer use it. I told them when I rented I would call Monday to switch for a car. After no answers I tried one more time. This time someone answered and I explained and asked if they could puck up the truck and bring car to replace it. Still no cars, and said there's nothing they can do. I will have to get it towed. Then after hanging up from that nice call, i found out theyve been charging me about $20 more a day for this truck. They never informed me it would be this much, that it was same as last time because they didn't have any cars. I never wanted nor would I ever have agreed to paying that much more a day for a truck I never wanted or reserved, they are dishonest, unprofessional and refuse to resolve this accordingly. read more

I called and made a reservation about 12:30PM I to get a vehicle at that location. I told reservations 5:30PM and that I needed to be picked up at an auto dealership where I was leaving my car for service. Reservations sent me a confirmation and repeated the details saying I would pick up the vehicle. I said no, I needed to be picked up at 5:30. The customer service person apologized made corrections and said I would get a second confirmation which I did. At 5:30 I was at the dealers. At 5:40 I called to make sure they were picking me up. I spent a few minutes conveying that I didn't need to make a reservation I needed to know where my pick up was. I was transferred to the local office. A woman answered the phone and I said I was asking where my pick up was and gave her the confirmation number. She says she'll check and put me on hold. A few minutes later the very obvious sound of a phone being picked up and put down was heard. I call again. It's now about 5:55. The customer service person listens to me and then tells me nothing can be done because that office is closed. I ask what can he do. He transfers me to what he described as major complaints. I spend several minutes explaining to that department my situation. I am again told nothing can be done. However I am assured multiple times that this is being sent to both the local manager and the region manager and I will hear from both the next day. Spoiler alert neither coward has reached out to me. My day ended with me walking 2 miles alongside a major highway, at rush hour. And because it's a highway there are no sidewalks and at some places where there are ramps or overpasses no shoulder either. And I got to do this in 90 degree heat wearing business attire. What really pisses me off is this is a small town so I was forced to use this incompetent office the next day and it ended up costing me a half day off of work waiting for them to open and come get me. read more

I had to rent a car from here for about a week and a half when i got into an accident. This place has its ups and downs. On the up side: They people are really friendly and accomidatiing. They are willing to work with you on a prices. They have me a little off my rental since i had to get a larger vechiale since they were out of smaller ones. They were willing to switch out my vehicale mid-rental should i want a different one. On the down side: The place is a little small. I dont rent cars to much but i ended up taking a truck since it was the only option. normall would have cost me 20 a day after insurance but they gave me a $10 discount since i was looking for a car. If they had more car options at the rate at which insurance companies pay, i would have given this place another star. read more

This place has bar none the worst service in the area. I frequently rent cars for my business and this was the first and last time I use this Enterprise branch. I reserved a car online and when I walked in no one could be bothered to look up from stuffing their faces with bags of chips and sandwiches, it was 1:15pm. When the girl finally started the process it only went downhill from here. When I tried to pay with my business debit card she then informed me I had to have two additional pieces of proof of address, like a utility bill!????? HUH? After some back and forth I presented by car's insurance and registration which sufficed. Then I had to give them two phone numbers where I could be reached. I only have one phone. And it's also my business line. After going back and forth with her manager who couldn't be bothered to even look out of the doorway, she came back to inform me that I did not "qualify" for rental because of the inability to produce a second phone number. She then told me no less than three times throughout the conversation that they are the only car rental to take Debit cards. I informed her she was flat out wrong but it never seemed to register. I selected a rental car through my insurance company. I asked for a midsize sedan. When enterprise met me at the auto body shop when I dropped my car off I was disappointed to learn I would now be driving an SUV instead of the midsize sedan I requested. The first problem was with my size. I am under 5' and was afraid I would not be able to drive the SUV with ease. The second problem was cost. This vehicle costs more than the sedan even though insurance was covering it. The third problem was with gas. I drive one hour to work One way. This vehicle was going to consume more Gas and cost more money than I had anticipated. The woman from enterprise said they only had a Dodge Ram left. I was angry at this point because I am 4'10" and would not be able to drive a huge pick up truck and this would not alleviate any of the problems stated. I explained I was not comfortable driving either vehicle. She said she would let me know either tomorrow or the next day if someone returned a sedan so I could swap the SUV for a more comfortable vehicle. She never called. The final straw when was I entered the vehicle to find it was dirty and had no gas. As a manager of this business I would want my customers to be satisfied. I would have made sure the car was clean and had at least some gas in it. If I had not been desperate for a vehicle at that point I would have never taken the car. read more

One of the nice things about my car insurance is they give me $40 a day for car rental. I rented many cars from this enterprise and every time they have been so polite and courteous. I must say, the staff is very nice at this location. I have use them on several occasions and they haven't let me down. I didn't give them the five stars because of Two things; One, is I believe they have to make sure their rides are cleaner before someone picks up the automobile. Two, the pricing can be a tad on the high side compared to their competitors near by. Especially with their add ons. If not for those two things, they would have received the 5 stars from me. I asked for a rental car through a insurance company. They told me a larger vehicle than the quote I was given was the only one available and that the insurance company would be fine with it and there would be no problem with the reimbursement. Looks like I'm not the only person who has had an issue at this branch with not having correct-sized car during time of rental. Now the insurance company is refusing to reimburse the full cost due to the size of the rental. Enterprise is refusing to correct the situation as well. They were incredibly rude and I'd encourage you to avoid this branch at all cost. The people we spoke to were unbelievable in cooperating to correct anything when we were told several times by their people that this was all 'fine'. I'm cancelling a future rental with this company due to the terrible service. What was already a terrible situation with a car accident was made worse by the people who work here. read more

What a joke. 1. The insurance on the cars here are more than the rentals themselves. The insurance i paid for on the site didn't include liability, when i was told in store, the price they offered was incredibly high. 2. This is the first car i've ever rented that had a milage cap, the unlimited miles only covers the tri-state area. If i wanted to stay in the tri state area i wouldnt have rented a car. Overall: I'll be avoiding this location and enterprise in the greater NJ area. My quote was for around $250 for 5 days, and ended up costing me $400. read more

I had to double check that I was writing a review for the correct company because of my experience VS that of previous customers. Walking in, it took a while to be greeted. We provided all the documents and details necessary (including the necessary +$250 deposit), and we were denied service because of a lack of having a second telephone number. Apparently one cell phone number, a card WITH funds, additional documents with proof of address and $250 up front made us 'unable to qualify' for a 24 hour car rental. The woman who was helping us mentioned 3 times that they are the only service in the area to offer their service on debit cards. This is not true. About 500 yards up the road (on the same side as Enterprise) is a Car Wash with rental cars. We went there and got approved straight away. No issues with not having a second cell phone number, no issues paying by cash/credit or debit, and no employees sitting around eating their lunch, ignoring you at the desk until they're ready. Extremely disappointed with my experience at Enterprise, but it worked out for the best. read more

I used to live in NJ and have been renting from this location (and the one in Mt. Olive) for 10 years. Yesterday I went to pick up a rental and was turned away because I had an out of state drivers license (they do accept NY and PA as if they were in-state I believe). I was not able to charge the rental to my Visa debit card because I had an out of state license. I had always used my Visa debit card for previous rentals, and this policy had not been explained to me over the phone when I made the reservation. If you are from out of town, you are much better off renting from Newark airport. As it was explained to me, you can use a debit card and out of state license at the Airport Location (however, you CANNOT use a debit card and local license - so go home and try to figure that one out) Also, the Ledgewood location would charge $150 minimum for drop of at Newark. So basically, this location is for locals who are having their car worked on as part of an insurance claim. I just can't believe that after 10 years of being a customer, with my profile in their computer systems, and having returned rental after rental in the past, that they would treat me as a walk-in and turn me away on a technicality. read more

I have rented from this Enterprise at least 4 or 5 times and every time am more than satisfied. This most recent rental I was able to upgrade to a Hybrid with AWD right before a snowstorm. #Winning! Staff is professional and friendly, and always find whatever discounts we are eligible for. I live in an area where there aren't that many rental options and prices can be high. Enterprise is always the best deal and has great cars. I don't even bother looking elsewhere anymore and am glad to be a Gold Enterprise member even though I don't rent that often (maybe once a year). read more

Awesome experience. I had reserved a Nissan Versa or similar and when I arrived, Chris had offered a free upgrade to a minivan or small Nissan Frontier truck. Chris was very professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I left feeling like I got a great deal (which I did) and will certainly be going back to this location for future rentals. My fiancé and I rented a vehicle last week from enterprise at this location for the first time. Normally when we travel we use Avis at the airport but figured we would give enterprise a shot as it was only car rental spot in the area. Had the assumption that the cars at enterprise were not as nice but seems like we were wrong.Two young ladies helped us when we rented the car and were both very nice. Normally with Avis we have to wait a little longer to get in the car and on the road. When returning the vehicle gentleman Chris checked to make sure everything was good and went over charges with us which I thought was thoughtful. I rented a car for one day on Saturday June 29 and returned (drop off) in the afternoon of the same day. They charged to my credit cards for two days ($159.00). Because I was very busy to leave and overlooked, I did look carefully where they marked the options (although I told them that I did not (and never) need any extra coverage when I rent a car, because I have my insurance and my credit card to cover for accidents. Before I left the office, I asked them to write down what the total rent was. He wrote down $58.26 on my contract for the total including taxes. But eventually, they still charged me $80 for one day.. This is not a good place to do business with. I lost $22.00. That amount is not a bit deal to me because I can give charity more than that; however, maybe that is all I was stolen by them because I will NEVER do business with Enterprise at whatever location in US, unless they are the only car rental company in town or at the airport. So, things are so bad at this Enterprise location in Ledgewood that I can't even get them to send me a pdf of my receipt. I was charged $13.00 extra for a 50 cent toll charge because I did not have my ez pass with me. If they called me about the charge I could have called EZ pass and paid the 50 cents on my account. This happens many times and if you have an account you can pay without penalty. They did not tell me until after they billed me the extra $13.00 dollars. I did not complain about that. All I need is a receipt for the 13.00 and they will not send it to me. I cannot submit the letter they sent to me as a receipt. By the way the 13 dollars is not an EZ pass charge but an Enterprise "processing fee". I need a receipt. That is all. Ignored!.....Again! What a joke. read more
