This business is horribly run! The line was extremely long, only one person working the register at about 10 minutes per customer. Multiple people did not have the cars that they reserved ahead of time, which everyone was upset about. They then wouldn't rent my car I reserved to me (they didn't even have the car type I had reserved) because there was a small tear in my liscense, which I have never had any problem with ever. We made a rental reservation in advance for a small SUV to take out of town for a wedding and to pick up family and luggage from flights. Our car is not large enough and had been having a few troubles. We were to pick up the rental at 8am to head immediately out of town and arrived about 15 minutes after, just to let them get started for the day, thinking it might be busy upon opening. When I walked in, they said "We're sorry, we tried calling you. We don't have a car available for you". Turns out they called us at 7:38 a.m. They said they called the day before, we be show no record. They had no way to help us, nothing to offer except to put us on a waiting list and call when a car shows up, but he said there were many people ahead of us. I insisted they contact the next nearest Enterprise and they said that location didn't have cars either. They admitted that this happens regularly because people extend their rentals. I highly suggest not renting from Grover Beach Enterprise if you need a car. They cannot help or find any solutions and you could be stranded. We immediately drove four hours (thankfully our car was OK) and rented in that city. Don't say you haven't been warned. *I've only ever made one or two Yelp reviews, but felt warranted because I just can't understand how a business can operate like this. read more

I use this Enterprise every time I travel for my work. I LOVE that the Grover Beach Enterprise will come pick me up and take me to the office for me to pick-up the car. And then in reverse when I return - drop off car and then they take me to my house. This is a crucial service that I'm very grateful for!! However, it's often a pain, as they are ALWAYS short-staffed. In fact, it can be hard to get through to a live person on the phone. But again, I appreciate their efforts! read more

September 24, my friend had a reservation that changed MULTIPLE times while we were working our shift. She was nice about it and just grateful to have a car. I personally took her after we got off work and waited with her. Nico kept telling us the car they're cleaning up currently would go to her as soon as they were done. But yet, he would give the car to someone else and say something along the lines of "they booked their reservation like two weeks ago". This occurrence happened multiple times. When I became frustrated because closing time was approaching, he found it appropriate to exercise his manager position in a pompous way rudely tell me "do you need that repeated". I don't see how it would be out of the question to be frustrated with being told "the next car is yours" then some poor reason it's given to someone else. If the reservation could t be honored, he should've been up front so we could have made proper arrangements. Needless to say, she did get a car reservation for a short duration, she told Nico she would probably need to extend it due to her car repairs at the dealership are postponed and he gave her his personal number and invited her to message him if she needed the extension. Well she did and he never answers so I'm getting the feeling that his intentions were otherwise helpful or appropriate. I have rented cars from this location several times in the past. All went well until my most recent rental. I reserved a Midsize vehicle for a road trip, accommodating four people and luggage. Upon arrival I was offered the choice of a Mazda 3 or mini Cooper. Due to time constraints I took the Mazda 3. It was totally unsuitable for adult backseat passengers as it had two cramped bucket seats in the rear as well as the two buckets in the front. My wife suffered with a stiff neck and shoulders from the cramped rear seat on a 5 hour drive. I regret that this location has such a limited inventory of vehicles. So, unfortunately I will not be renting from them again and I certainly do not recommend them to anyone requiring a particular vehicle for their use. read more

Just returned my rental car to Enterprise Grover Beach and I am really sad. I had the car of my dreams for 10 days while my wife's car was in the body shop. It was a 2019 Dodge Challenger with a 5.7 Hemi it was white and spotless. My wife wanted a car the same as what she drives, 2018 Mazda CX-5, the girls at Enterprise said they would get me a small SUV but why? When I can have a hot rod. The look on my wife's face was priceless when I rumbled into the driveway, her words "it's my car in the shop, I get to drive it" not. My wife's car is having some body work done and we were in need of a rental car while the work is performed. When we had a date for the car to be dropped off, we went to enterprise to ensure we'd have a car. We were told that there will absolutely be a vehicle reserved and ready that morning for us. However, fast forward to when we dropped the car off. I dropped my wife's car at the shop, walked down to enterprise to find out there was no vehicle for us. They drove me home and I called back around 1030 to find out they had a vehicle dropped off. I was then picked up from home and signed paperwork at enterprise. I am someone who believes a promise should be followed through on or compensated for the miscommunication. Nothing was done to try and resolve or make up for the mistake made (which is poor customer service in my mind). While the rental car was nice and clean, I believe customer service and following through is what keeps customers coming back for more. read more

Needed a car for a last-minute trip to the Bay Area. Short version: Everything was adequate and I would probably rent from here again. Admittedly Nitpicky version: I went in around 8:30am and was met by who I believe was the manager assistant, who was the only person behind the desk at the time. He was polite, well put together and had my reservation on file. He said the car would be brought around by the attendant. My only (nitpicky) criticism is a little too much informality in demeanor and speech. He used "freakin'" a couple of times and carried himself a little casually for a manager-assistant representative. He also excused himself for a smoke break while missing two phone calls (whether they were to an individual's personal phone or to the front, I'm not sure). I won't begrudge him a break nor a casual demeanor that early in the morning, just stating it "for the record" and it kind of threw me off for a customer service rep. I was met by Vance, who helped me walk around the car and check the minor damages that existed before I took possession of the car. My biggest criticism with this interaction is two-fold. Firstly, the car was rather gross inside and out. The interior was clearly well used, with black staining and cigarette burns in the seats, a mystery stain on the passenger floor carpet and a sticky steering wheel that encouraged me to wash my hands before touching anything else after driving. I took photos just in case I needed to defend the fact that I did not do all this (it didn't end up being an issue upon return). The gas was at 1/4 tank, I returned it with nearly full and they credited me 1/2 tank on a future rental. Secondly, Vance was a little too hard-sell on the optional insurance that I know is a big money-maker for rental firms. I totally understand the company desire to earn sales, and I do not fault him for pushing the service. I mentioned that, per my research, my credit card company will cover all accidental damage associated with the rental. He told me that they (Enterprise) could not accept that as credit card companies "take too long" to complete a claim and the car would not be covered. Upon reflection, I believe that would be between Enterprise and my credit card company, and would, in fact, be covered after an investigation into the claim (per my credit card agreement information). He also said that the car is "not covered by anything" and asked if I had car insurance. I was a little put off, as a customer service rep I would never presume to "insult" the customer by thinking they'd willingly drive someone else's car without car insurance...maybe that's just me. As I'm contributing to their salaries, I'd hope to be treated as a valued part of their business. In conclusion, I'm not particularly put off completely from renting here, and my criticisms may be a little too minor as, overall, the car got me there and back again without issue, had A/C, a good radio and great gas mileage. The insurance hard-sell, coupled with the gross state of the still relatively new car, are what knock it down a couple stars for me. I can't remember the gentlemen's name who helped me today but I called earlier this morning bc an associate of ours was stranded in Arroyo Grande, lives here in Fresno and his truck was stuck at a shop a week out from being fixed. Several of my managers told me to call Enterprise. I fussed online trying to reserve it and ended up just calling them directly. He was incredibly sympathetic, and wanted to help in any way. Waived a fee and let me take care of everything over the phone. It blew me away how kind he was bc this isn't the first time I've been in this situation and I remember the hoops I've had to jump through. Thank you guys for helping! I have to admit this review is way overdue (sorry, guys). My family went on vacation to Oceano Dunes and our truck's transmission went out on us -- we were stranded. We got a lift to Enterprise and although there were no available vehicles at that exact moment, Mark and Delko did everything they could to get us in a vehicle as soon as possible. We were in a brand new, clean truck by that afternoon. The guys even worked with us on the return time since we were also coordinating with a local mechanic to get our truck returned to us. They went above and beyond. I feel like a jerk for not writing this sooner. Mark and Delko were really understanding about our situation and exemplified customer service. Side note: This office was not aware of discounts extended to Navy Federal Credit Union members. We brought it to their attention and they were happy to oblige. read more

Top notch! The best Rental Car service I have been treated. They gave me a Nissan Altima car that I questioned because I wanted a 6 cyc., instead they chose a 4 cyc. They told me would outperform most of the cars on the road and they were right. I drove the car 2800 plus miles through Washington and Oregon; I drove the car an average of 73 mph on the hwy and my gas mileage was 37.2 mpg. The car gave us plenty of room for our golf clubs and luggage. If you need to rent a car this is the best place on the Central Coast. read more

I called about a rental for this weekend for my wife and I. They told me they where busy and will call me back, well a week passes and no phone call. I've called and even showed up to find out what was going on. I cannot believe that someone would tell you that they will call back and never calls. Then I spoke to someone at the corporate office and to be told "Sorry I cannot help you" this is very disappointing. I honestly feel that this location didn't bother looking for the vehicle I wanted, they just tried to make it seem like they did. I own a Motorhome, when we travel we have found Enterprise very convienent. Its much more affordable to rent than own a car to tow thats only used 6-8 times a year for 4 or 5 days at a time. My car was vandalized and Geico set me up with a rental at Enterprise in GB. All went fine with the car which I had for a week. I was told by Geico I would not be charged and that the rental was completely covered. When I turned the car in Enterprise told me that they would speak with Geico and let me know what would be charged (gas) and I said ok. I incurred a $280 collective charges to my card. I have called twice for an explanation and each time they tell me they will look into it and call me right back. They claim to be waiting to hear from Geico. My point here is I want to know the breakdown of charges which I know are in their system. They should have called me the first time like they said they were and they should have called me back yesterday like they said they would. Follow through. I guess because we are such a small town and they are the only game in town, we should just be happy with what they offer? I think not. I went in to try to find a car to drive to the Santa Barbara Airport so that I would not have to leave my car there for a week. The young woman I spoke to was just barely interested in what I had to ask. She did inform me that the fee for the car for one day was $49 and the drop off fee because I was only getting it for one day would be $40. The return trip would amount to the same. $178 and I suppose the gas would be in addition to that. I rented a car for my trip in Denver at Dollar Car Rental and it was about $128 for the entire week. No mileage charges or drop off fees. Needless to say I drove my car to the airport. read more

Basically you want 4 things from a car rental place....good customer service, on time reservation, clean and safe car, fueled ready to go. Got 2 out of 4. Made reservation 2 weeks in advance. Car available on time. Got good customer service from staff on pick up and return. Car not fueled...only quarter tank. Told me they would fuel if I wanted but would have to wait.....why not fueled before I arrived. I had to request car windows be wiped down from all the beach morning air condensation....not safe to drive that way. They made no attempt to provide that for me. This location has very limited parking for their cars and your own parking to drop someone off or check in. Their car wash guy bitched at me for parking next to the curb in the street in front of their parked cars in their lot...allows for 4 cars....He was very rude. I had no other safe choice of any where to park but in the street along the curb blocking their very small parking lot. Please don't respond with wanting details about review to email back excuses....very simple....just train your car wash guy to fuel up before pick up, have him wipe down windows when condensation present before drive off, and ask to move out of way...not be rude. Better off fire and replace him. So, if you rent car on Friday for weekend you must come back Monday am....no provided key drop off on Sunday. read more

The service was quick and efficient. The car was clean and worked well. The woman working, however, spoke so fast it was hard to keep up with her. She offered to help me get into a better car, called to tell me there was a car available, I returned the call 2 hours later, she'd left for the day and her teammate told me to call M at the SLO Broad store. M told me he knew nothing about it and the next morning when I went in to ask, she called the SLO store noting there had been an arrangement, and basically M told her on the phone he had pulled the car out from under her for another corporate client. I was left with this unpleasant and uncomfortable realization that her colleague not only put the screws to her but also to me standing there while she was dumped on the phone. At the worst it goes to competition for commissions or something that left me standing there feeling bad, when I'd called just over 2 hours after the verbal offer to accept and came in the next morning, and I was the client! read more

I've been renting cars from the Grover Beach location for the past (17) years, and still receiving great service. The Manager Mark's demeanor is just professional and friendly. Delko just emulates Mark with also great service and professionalism. The last rental I had was with Will, and he was just great in all that he did to make my rental more than just enjoyable. I would refer the Grover Beach office for rentals to all of my friends and associates. My most recent experience at Enterprise in Grover Beach was awesome. They were fast and efficient. The pricing was better than any of the other companies on the Central Coast and the guys there are great. Mike is the manager and he's a pleasure to work with. Remember to have a major credit card when renting from any rental agency. They did not have the car I was hoping to rent available, as this was a last minute decision for the rental. But, were accomodating and ended up offering me another class of car at the same price!
