She started a reservation, put us on a waiting list, and provided us with alternatives. We left to investigate other possibilities. Eventually, we returned to ask Kelly a question and she helped us transfer our reservation to another Enterprise location. We were able to travel home on schedule because of her help. 5 star review for the branch manager ONLY. Kelly was wonderful. My family and I were driving through the desert when our rental van's AC quit. In JULY! With two small kids (one of which is an infant) there is no way we could continue on our remaining 7hr journey back home to the Bay Area. I called enterprise and they sent me to the Barstow location, even though I had already called Barstow directly and Kelly told me they had no cars at all. Apparently this is happens a lot because Barstow is the only location in that stretch of highway. Enterprise told me I still had to go there and they will "escalate" the claim. . I was told I would have to just wait for a call back and it would only take a few minutes (that was about 9:45am). By 11:20am I still had no return call. I call the roadside assistance number again. They still had no update on what to do, and just wait, estimated another 30mins for a return call...... Around 1pm still with no phone call back, Kelly was able to get us a rental van so we can continue on home. Someone had returned a van while we were there waiting. Kelly did all she could for us. She was kind and patient with my two small kids (5yrs old and 8months old). Also wanted to add, we hit a random rain storm and turned on our windshield wipers and they were broken and the driver wiper flew past the windshield and got stuck towards the side mirror!! It was wild. When we picked up the original unit in the Bay Area, the seatbelt in the backseat was actually cut. But since we were using the anchors for the baby car seat base it wasn't a make or break for us. Enterprise, do better Kelly, you are awesome ! Thank you for your kindness. read more

At my request, my auto insurance (who uses Enterprise) contacted the Barstow location of Enterprise on my behalf instead of the Victorville office. I live exactly midway between the two locations and have had bad experiences with the Victorville location and didn't want to use them. Kelly, of Barstow Enterprise, called me within moments of being contacted by my insurer. My wife, who is disabled, requires at least a small SUV to carry her break-down elec scooter. Kelly didn't have an SUV on the lot at the time, but rapidly obtained one and had it before the time she had promised. Kelly is a professional and runs that office well. I won't go into all of the details. But she was considerate of my wife's needs and my daughter's needs (who provided my transportation from home to Barstow). I'll definitely use this location again. read more

Rented a car on-line to drive one way to Sacramento from Barstow. Arrive to pickup car only to find out they did not have any cars available. We ended up renting a U-Haul truck to drive one way to Sacramento. I will never consider using Enterprise again and will tell everyone I know of my awful experience so they don't trust Enterprise either. read more

Rented a car in Anaheim, drove through Barstow. Tire Pressure Light came on - Enterprise Road side assistance said to go to this location- Got to the location driving 30 mins back. The front desk was not friendly- No cars wanted us to wait almost 3 hours to potentially get a car. The customer service here is horrible- The older asian lady should probably just retire if she is going to be rude. They made me drive my rental to Midas- Didnt even bother to pick up a phone to let them know we were on the way. read more

Absolutely shame on the African American female MT they have working on the weekends. I am a former employee who busted my butt off for the company for years. I rented a car for one day, brought it back with the outside clean and trash removed from the inside. There was a VERY light amount of dog hair (a cover was put down) and she threatened to charge me a $50 detail fee. This was already after I had to pay for an upgrade I didn't want. Do you know how many times I cleaned cars far worse? I cleaned cars with vomit, dirty diapers, massive trash, smokers cars, bloody tissues, needles... you name it. I had to smile and do my job every single day whether I liked it or not. She told me I have 10 minutes to go vacuum the car before they closed. I have a heart condition and I was about the grab the vacuum in the parking lot and do it myself. She has a nasty attitude and does not belong in customer service whatsoever. If you can't handle the heat in the kitchen, get out. In customer service you never approach a customer with a "Just so you know attitude". I HAD MY CARDIAC SERVICE DOG IN THE CAR BY THE WAY. Thanks for discriminating against someone with a disability. I am putting in a complaint with corporate. Shame on you, you should not be an MT. I will happily take my business to Avis. read more

Over the Christmas and New Year holidays we needed to rent a car when our truck pulling our travel trailer broke down in Barstow. Once we realized we would be in Barstow for over a week, we decided to rent a car. We reached out to Enterprise. We worked with Kelly, the manager, who was awesome. We were able to have someone from Enterprise pick us up and take us to the Enterprise rental office and obtain a rental for the week. It was an easy and quick service. We were happy with the car and were able to explore the local area. When we thought we would need to keep the car one extra day, I simply called the office and they extended us the extra day (ended up not needing the extra day and they refunded the expense ASAP). Not enough employees working here to service the amount of customers there - we stopped here to add drivers to our rental. Location is tiny, hard to spot and not a lot of parking. About 5 groups waiting on their car before us, mostly all waiting for their cars to be ready. Employees were swamped running around to get cars, on the phone, helping customers at the front desk. I think there were only about 2-3 employees working on a Saturday morning close to noon. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE! yes, they are a little understaffed, but i never have had to wait more than 5-10. Their cars are clean, nice and reliable. they actually do a walk through with you, make you feel comfortable, and have always been so very nice! the manager is wonderful and always shoots a text after we leave to make sure if there is anything we need to just call. i have rented from them about 5 times now and i can say that they will always be my first choice in barstow! otherwise we will drive the 30 the minutes to go the next enterprise because there's no real options in town. read more

Emergency pick up because our transmission went out in our pick up on the way to Las Vegas. Did an online rental pick up on a car and I told them that the car wasn't coming back to the Barstow location that it would be dropped off in Modesto. The lady that helped us said she talked with her manager and she said that it was ok and it would be around $100 for the drop off in Modesto. I thought awesome rented the car for $320 and paid the $300 deposit. Returned the car on the day that they told me to in the text notifications. Excepted to get something back from the deposit and nothing. Just called and they said they never authorized the different location drop off. How great well maybe next time let's not have employees tell customers one thing and then do another. read more

We stopped by here because a rock hit our windshield and the windshield developed a crack. We called enterprise on the way and they told us to come to a branch to make a claim. Once there, they notified us that there were no cars to trade in which was fine since the car was still drivable. We explained to one of the workers, Gabby, the situation and how we were going to submit for reimbursement through our credit card car rental insurance, but just needed a paper stating the damages so we could send it in. Gabby started to ask us for some information that I told her we could not provide since we wanted to get reimbursed through our travel credit card and didn't know how the deductible or compensation worked. Once we told her that she looked at us and rolled her eyes with an annoyed face and kept pressing us to answer her question. I explained to her the situation again and she continued to get annoyed and stated that she wouldn't be able to file our claim. Luckily, one of the other workers stepped in at this time and was able to get everything situated for us and give us a copy of the claim report. I'm not sure if Gabby was just having a bad day, but rolling your eyes and having a crappy attitude with a customer is very poor customer service. Hopefully someone talks to and retrains Gabby about her poor attitude towards customers. The people who she was helping before us left pissed off too. read more

We weren't able to switch car out due last minute and low inventory on holiday weekend, but their technician, Hudson, was so helpful in checking out vehicle for us. We broke down on the I 15 just north of Barstow on the way to a wedding in So. Utah. AAA towed us into Barstow ad arranged a reservation with Enterprice for a rental. We arrived 30 minutes prior to our 9:30 appointment and I met the manager Gabby at the counter with 4 other customers in the lobby and one on the phone, Gabby was a true customer service pro. She handled the problem on the phone with poise. Took care of the 4 others and had us in our car in about 20 minutes. WOW what a 5 Star person she is and a true asset to Enterprise Rent-a-car. I haven't used Enterprise but few times before, but I will now look to their direction first in the future. Thanks Gabby for making a stressful situation better. P.S. Nothing but the run around, went in to rent a car in person for next day. Wanted to make sure that would have it for the next day for my trip. They say yes it will be here by 8 am. Show up don't see one but have to wait to speak to the agent. Almost an hour lady find out they don't have what they promised and wouldn't have one for over 2 hours. What a joke! Drove to Avis and got one immediately with plenty of cars in stock. Won't be using enterprise in the future. read more

So far we have had three car rentals from Enterprise, and have had car troubles with all three. I don't know what's going on with their vehicle maintenance team, but someone is dropping the ball somewhere. However, Enterprise continues to redeem themselves with excellent and fast customer service. We have disputed charges these three times and they have been willing to work with us on our rental agreements. Also, changes made "on-the-fly" are pretty easy to do. The occurred when we needed to keep our rental and drive it back across country. We'll see how next time goes. Fingers crossed for no more car issues Recommendation- make sure before you pick up a car that the mileage is low and servicing is all up to date with no approaching services needed for a while. read more

Yesterday, as a parent I got a call none of us as parents want to get...everyone is fine except our car ...in the chaos I called enterprise because 5 of the young adults absolutely needed to get back home, to San Diego... Enterprise is the ONLY company that rents to YOUNG drivers that is of the age of 21, first off, so thank goodness for that option. BUT the MOST IMPORTANT is that I came across a most wonderful, understanding human being...they were closing the store, which is normal, but I begged Mr. Bernard, their manager to give us about 30 to 40 minutes because two of the young adults were on their way to rent a car and continue their drive to San Diego. Although I could not reach Mr. Bernard after 6pm, their phone system will not allow us to, there he was waiting patiently for his last customer ...And off they went safely drove to San Diego. Don't plan on getting your deposit back in full. Got there and they had no car for me when I had a reservation so they gave me a "free up grade'" that I didn't want but wife had to get to work. Suppose to be same price. They took higher insurance cost out of deposit when they said it would cost the same amount. Called them to have it fixed and all they would do is give me $10 on next rental. Who says I'll be back thieves. My last rental was 50 a day with insurance. That's what this was suppose to be. Wound up costing me 70. The thing was dirty and a pain. Seats didn't recline. Just wanted a cheap rental not to pay more for something I didn't even want. read more

Had a breakdown outside town on 12/12/18 and got to the barstow location just before their closing time at 6pm. Victoria was at the desk to help me and even though we were there for a full half hour after they were supposed to close, she was absolutely pleasant and helpful.
