Victoria wanted to get the rear quarter panel fixed or replaced on her '02 F-150; a series of blown tires had mangled it fairly thoroughly in the Texas oilfields. Robbie gave her a very favorable estimate when she took it in to SoCal. The plan was to hopefully find a serveable panel at an area junkyard, but one was not to be found. The fallback was to patch and straighten the existing panel, but it was badly torn up. In the end, Robbie asked his race car body guy to refabricate it in metal, and it was a gorgeous and solid job. It took a few extra days to complete the paintwork over the holidays; the shop hadn't been completely happy with the first finish. Picked it up this aftenoon, and it's brilliant; the shop had buffed the truck all over--paint and chrome--and it doesn't look much like the worn old pickup that came back here from Texas. Outstanding job at a very reasonable price. SoCal was recommended by the mechanic that did his part under the hood and in the drivetrain on Victoria's truck. My BMW mechanic in Apple Valley also has had customers speak very favorably of SoCal's work. So the "word of mouth" is working for them. Their primary activity is racing, so it's cool to see the cars in the shop. And the shop is beautiful: neat and tidy. Give them a try! Very bad experience, BEWARE, BEWARE, SoCal auto body/Robbie Brand accepted my 1957 Chevy custom, for a complete paint job, in September of 2013. After requesting a deposit to get started, $2,000.00 my car was left outside with the windows down. (I was told it would be inside with his race cars) I was told work was underway multiple times. I made a personal visit in Dec 2014 to give Robbie a chance for me to just pick the car up, but again more promises that they would be starting on it right away. Finally after another 7 months, and Facebook posts of other cars being finished, I decided to go pickup my car (almost 2 years after I took it there). I have posted pictures of the condition my car was in, and besides a broken passenger window/battery switch left on -ruined the optima battery, and my NEWLY black chrome powder coated rims have body shop waste and hard water all over them, - the pics speak for themselves. I run a business of my own, and if I treated my customers like this, I would be out of business. P.S. - still waiting for my $2000.00 deposit to be returned, got a smart ass remark about seeing how much storage charges have accrued. My recommendation is STAY AWAY, OWNER HAS NO RESPECT FOR CUSTOMERS OR THEIR PROPERTY. read more

At an RV Park in Dagget, California our motorhome wouldn't start. We were hoping not to have it towed. The owner of the park recommended a mobile repair service called SoCal Auto Body. SoCal was quick to send help, and made me feel confident they could do the job. It turned out to be no small matter! The repair required draining 30 gallons of fuel, and dropping the tank to replace a fuel pump. I was surprised they managed this at the park without making a huge mess of it. Took our 2008 BMW 328i there after a Coyote ran out in front of us, once it was painted he had me come out to the car and we noticed a run in the paint painter repeat entire car, it came out better than you and he even remove the seeds in detail the car! I brought my 2002 Chevy Silverado pickup here after a blowout damaged the fender behind the right rear tire. I didn't know what to expect never having to use a body shop. All I ever heard were complaints from friends who have used other auto body repair facilities (e.g. long wait times for repairs, poor paint matching, poorly fitted parts, etc.} All I can say is that they should have gone to So Cal Auto Body. The repairs done by Robbie Brand and his staff were excellent. They did the repairs quickly. His staff kept me continually informed about the progress of the repairs. They handled all of the insurance paperwork. They completely cleaned the truck inside and out before I picked it up. They even provided a ride home when I dropped off the truck and a ride from my house to pickup the truck when they were done. I recently had a fender bender and had to get my baby fixed so I asked around for the best place to get it fixed and everyone I asked refered So Cal Auto body. I didn't have an appointment and just walked in. When I got there I was greeted with great customer service and was assured they would do the best work at the lowest price. So me being on a budget called around and they did beat everyone in town. Once I left my car they said it would be done within a week. I came back early to see how the progress was going and they had nothing to hide. Showed me what they were doing and told me it would be done on time. To my surprise it was done early and when I picked it up I couldn't believe how good it looked. Just like I drove it off the lot. Washed and looking good. This place is overrated. I give it two stars because the staff is very friendly, but that is the only reason. The price is good, but not for the quality of work. When I got the car back it looked great, but then again it had been buffed. They said I could come back for a complimentary 2nd buff, but they were never able to take me in so it was not completed. I got my car completely painted. They told me they take everything apart, and that's why it took so long. Well there is paint all over the trim which leads me to believe they didn't take it apart. The parts that they did take apart got seriously messed up. I went back to show them some parts that got damaged from them not putting it back together properly, and they made me pay for the repairs. They didn't put a bracket back that hold my license plate lights in, and now I have to replace that also. There is something in my trunk that I hear moving around every time I open and close it. Also they got paint on the inside of my car on the ceiling somehow. I would not go back to this place even if you paid me. Overall I see it as time and money lost that I will never get back. read more
