Stopped here for an overnight stay headed towards Bakersfield. The sites aren't remotely close to level, in addition to having large desert rocks to negotiate over. However, the big kicker for me was that roughly 80% of this park is straight uphill. There are some long timers here that keep to themselves. Honestly, it was fine, it was $40 for an overnight stay. It's Barstow, so you don't expect much. Speaking of, don't expect the wi-fi to work, it doesn't. Also, don't expect the pool to be clean, it isn't. As a matter of fact, it was greener than the "fishing hole" right next to it. Probably be cleaner going for a dip in it than in the pool. The sites are pull through and they are reasonably level dirt spots, with a few green oleanders sprinkled about. The check in is easy and uncomplicated. It's Barstow, and did I mention it was only $40? Oh, their restaurant wasn't open so no comment there. read more

If you're driving through Barstow and need an RV spot for the night, I'd recommend this place. It's just outside of Barstow between the 15 and the 40. Nothing fancy but has full hookups. Got super windy during the night but it's the desert. read more

This is a really clean and quiet RV park. We stayed one night but we'd stay again. We felt safe here. The sites are all dirt and gravel pull thru sites with hookups. Clean bathrooms and showers. Laundry on site, pool, and fishing pond. Staff seemed very friendly. If you arrive after hours you just pick any open site and drop your payment in the box. read more

This is Barstow.... So, maybe I should have put 5 stars, but it's really not. Quirky, friendly desert people, the campground is well organized with solid, working facilities. The pool isn't open yet, but the fishing pond is.. I'm not too crazy about that stuff.. What I really enjoy is that little dive bar. The wings are super good, the drinks are stiff and the bartenders are friendly. Just what you need after a long workday. The bar isn't open on the weekend though.. Which is somewhat strange?. Anyway, for long term, this is THE spot. For short term?? I haven't been to the KOA but they seem a bit spendier. It's either here or there. I'd forget about the other places. read more

Stopped at KOA and waited for 10 minutes,never helped. So I left and came here. So happy I did. Very quiet between 40 and 15. Clean,pool,pond with ducks,fishing in pond,showers/restrooms,laundry. They have trees here unlike KOA and they're on the bottom side of mountain so evening sun is being blocked. Pull thru with Full hook ups $30! Again,super quiet. Lady that checked us in was so nice. We stayed here in our RV for just one night in between our visit to the Grand Canyon and San Francisco. We were able to get a spot after closing. In the morning upon leaving, the staff was so nice to help us with some technical issues with our RV, requesting no payment. We were so grateful for the help! The site's restrooms are clean, the spaces are big enough, there's actually a really beautiful scenic nature backdrop, and the little pond with ducks is cute too! We were sad to not be able to check out the onsite bar and grill. Thanks so much to the staff of the Desert Springs RV park--good people there and glad that is where we chose to stop for the night! read more

We have been here since March. Super friendly people! It does get pretty windy but that's expected with the location. There has been minor theft, but just be mindful of locking up your belongings. Overall, we've been please and think that it is a nice RV park. read more

This is a great spot close to the highway. The price for overnight is $30. The staff is friendly and late check-in was a breeze. There is a large pond for fishing and a swimming pool. Overall a clean and quiet park. We will stop here again. read more

It's a decent park. Gets pretty windy here, which isn't all that bad if you like your rig to rock you to sleep. Laundry mat is decent. Cost $1.25 per machine. The washers need there soap dispensers cleaned, soap scum has built up. The showers they provide are not the cleanest but most people wear sandals when they go in public showers anyway. (My only issue with the showers is, I don't know what stops bumbs from using them.) I got the monthly rate of $410 and it's supposed to drop to $350 the second month. About five minutes from barstow. Jack in the box, AmPm, and two dinners down the street. The park also has a bar and grill, which the give you a menu for. It also has a fishing hole, which has typical park grills and picnic benches around. And it also has a pool. Make sure you ask for the wifi password at the front desk, for some reason it's not included on the paper they give you. They need to update their hardware though, wifi is pretty slow. Bar and grill here on site is excellent! Really good food. read more

The electric was junk. I didn't have enough power to do anything in my rv. Management is no help. They just made excuses. The bathrooms are dirty. Skip it and save yourself a headache. read more

Very accommodating. MUCH better than the nearby KOA we stayed at last week on our outbound travels, which was more expensive; absolutely no shade (in the middle of the desert, hard to find, but appreciated); and the guy who checked us in at the KOA seemed most preoccupied with getting back to his video game or whatever he was doing. read more

We frequently hit this bar for drinks/food after work on Friday. It's a typical desert hole in the wall, just off I-15 between LA and Las Vegas. I probably would never have found it but I work right nearby. Food is typical short order American grill fare. Some of the items are pretty good but for the most part the food is forgettable. Beer is the big seller here. I have seen some good fights out in the parking lot here, which is always fun. read more

This is a modest little grass & gravel park, but I just have to give them a five star for trying harder. They keep the place very nice with a pleasing amount a landscaping, trees, flowering hedges. The park and restrooms are very clean. Nice views of the mountains & surrounding area. A fishing pond with fountain & ducks. Store, restaurant & bar. The owner is a really nice person, retired military, very "squared away" & eager to be helpful. During this stay we had a major breakdown. He has some skill in mechanics, and tried to help. When it proved to be a big job, the owner connected me with a good mobile repair outfit. We always enjoy our stays here. read more
