Bagel Review Only: Walking into Enjoy My Bagels, I had high hopes as I eyed the location for a week when I would pass by in route to my destination. Perched upon a nice corner location, EMB is relatively prominent in appearance from the outside. The inside had no customers, a small 2 top, reach in beverage coolers along the right wall, bagels and spreads on the opposite side, muffins to the rear.. There is virtually no beverage they do not seem to stock and they have a great beer selection. (Blue Point-Flying Dog-Magic Hat) but merely an observance.. The offerings include Breakfast sandwiches, breakfast wraps, omelettes, burgers, hot hero's. Not that I have a statistic to offer, but most bagel shops I have experienced rarely if ever strayed from their main focus, the bagel. The bagel options are what we all have come to expect as to the choices., I went with an Everything, well toasted with pain cream cheese and as I grabbed the bag upon paying, the lightness of it was immediately noticed. When I opened up the wax paper, a very lightly toasted, undersized, bagel was staring back at me with no top down visual recognition of any cream cheese. Not to my surprise, the cream cheese was so minimal in quantity it was if it was spread with a twig. This is even after the manager noticed me taking a few photos. Felt like having breakfast foods a few days ago and decided to give them a try. They have an extensive menu and everything is fairly priced. Unfortunately, when I ordered waffles, they did not provide me with any syrup or butter (which I didn't have at home) so I had to eat dry waffles. I stop here a lot on the way to/from the train and always have a good experience. Not only are the bagels very tasty but they tend to have a fantastic selection of bottled caffeine options -- used to have the whole Guayaki Yerba Mate line which seems to have been phased out ~but~ now they carry all sorts of products from MatchaBar which works just as well for me. I had a toasted egg bagel with jalapeño cream cheese. The bagel was nice and crunchy but the cream cheese was the worst. They only gave one tablespoon and spread it around the bagel. We were headed towards a Subway and saw this place on the corner. Instead of trying something we can get everywhere, we decided to walk in and check it out. We were there about lunch time. The gentleman behind the counter was very helpful. They use Boar's Head meat and cheese and only charged $8.99 for a french roll sandwich! Our sandwiches were huge and heavy for the price! Again, for NYC, what an incredible price! They also had the regular sized bags of chips on sale for $2. We got such a better deal at this local shop rather than at a Subway. I got the Chicken pesto option. There were roasted red peppers and mozzarella cheese. The chicken was breaded and wonderful! It was almost like a pesto chicken parm in a sandwich. Their bagels are decent, but the quality varies day to day. My usual go to order is an everything bagel with cream cheese toasted. They're usually really stingy with the cream cheese, with barely enough to cover the whole bagel even if it was spread out really thin. There has also been some occasions where I feel like the bagels weren't baked the day of. Recently, it seems like they just make up the price you pay based on the rest of your order. We ordered two breakfast sandwiches and 4 bagels (nothing on it) the day before and since I've ordered from them (individually) before, I knew they charged me the correct price ($4.50 for the sandwiches and $1 each bagel.) Today, upon just ordering 4 bagels (with nothing on it), the employee seemed surprised that I wasn't getting anything on it and charged me $5. How does their price vary day to day and order to order? I should also mention to doublecheck your order before leaving, one time I ordered a bagel with cream cheese, was charged for cream cheese only to return to my office and notice they gave me butter. read more

A flavored CC bagel costs $5. Now I know why I haven't been here before. To add insult to injury, they also really hard core skimp on the cream cheese and stuff it all in the middle to make it look like there is cream cheese. (Also, a huge lack of either raisins or walnuts in their raisin and walnut cream cheese.) They also don't have prices up in the store for their bagels/CC combos which is rather suspicious when the place seems to emphasize bagels. I just want to know how much $ I need! But, I think if they'd put the prices out, we wouldn't have ordered here. Not sure what people mean by expensive, as I'm from Cleveland, and got a toasted bagel with cream cheese and a bottle beverage, as well as my companions food also and spent $8. Never coming back. I've been a daily customer here for a few years now, along with a couple coworkers/friends, as we buy all our breakfast here. The staff there are great but the owner (guy who mans the register) is in way over his head. I had placed an order in which I was clear in what I wanted since they have screwed up orders previously however, this was the last straw as the owner was beyond rude. At first, I thought maybe I had missed a detail while communicating my order however, another customer confirmed that I actually did order the correct thing. Not only was I told by the owner what I had specifically ordered (according to what he heard) but, he also made it seem like it was my fault that he did not listen properly. The worst part of it all was he needed to be right and did not seem to want to correct the sandwich until the very end of our verbal altercation. That being said, I, and many others, will be taking our morning business elsewhere. The headache I go through by ordering at this place is not worth it. read more

I'm absolutely shocked by the low ratings of Enjoy My Bagels. I think they deserve a solid 3.5. I've been going to this spot for a little over 2 years now and overall have been satisfied with their service. I generally find myself here in the morning for a hot tea and/ or bagel before work. They have a large variety of cream cheeses. A great one that sticks out in my mind is cheddar bacon, mmm mmm delicious. I must admit they have gotten my tea order wrong a few times. They've left out the cream that I requested but nothing major. The sandwiches here are great. They also have a cooler with pre-made wraps, pasta salads, green salads, fruits, and yogurts. They also have lots of different beverages including beer! I can't end this review without mentioning the Philly cheesesteak I picked up today after work. It was packed full of wonderful flavors! It had juicy steak, peppers, and cheese. The bread was nice and toasted yet soft at the same time. If you're ever in the area and looking for a filling sandwich check out the Philly cheesesteak at Enjoy My Bagels! O yea and the service is consistently friendly. One final con is that there is a $7 minimum on cards but nonetheless still a great place. read more

We had the good fortune of trying this place out while in the area on vacation in May of 2016. We were tired after a long day in the city and this place was within walking distance of our hotel and it was awesome. I am truly shocked at the low rating that this place has based on our experience. My partner and I both ordered sandwiches to go and they were both probably the best sandwiches that I have ever had. The meat was sliced on the spot and generously piled high. The vegetables were fresh and crisp. The service was truly excellent and friendly. Rude, horrible service. The only redeeming thing about this place is the sweet & courteous delivery man who I tipped well. No doubt he's verbally abused daily by the owner far worse than I was! :-/ Today was the second time I received a stale bagel. :'( When I called I was violently berated by a man who is VERY touchy about his cream cheese. He screamed over me while I calmly tried to inform him the bagel was the issue. I hung up because I was hungry and in no mood to be attacked over $4. Not two minutes later he called me back to retrieve crap food and refund my money. Reflecting, it's best my bagel was a rock. No doubt there were actual problems with the cream cheese as the freshness of their food is questionable. Probably would've made me ill. I will never eat here again. I am shocked this place has such a low rating. The iced coffee and breakfast sandwiches here were literally a factor in me moving down the block. THIS PLACE HAS THE BEST ICED COFFE EVER. My usual is a larger ice coffee with just a little sugar & milk. The bagels are fresh often and prices are reasonable. Keeping it simple here. Never been to the store, I only order online. There are a lot of highly mediocre choices in the area, and all of them are terrible at delivery times. This place is not. 30 minutes or less, all the dang time. Food is good, and when it's delivered in a reasonable amount of time, it's still good. You should order here just because of the delivery time, and occasionally you get a free banana. Owner here wants you to get that potassium fix. read more

I've had a love hate relationship with this place for a little over 3 years and its gotten pretty outrageous. The owner makes up prices. Some days a plain bagel with nothing on it can cost $1. Today it cost $1.50. I come here out of desperation because it is close to my office but the bagels are usually stale and dry especially if you don't get them toasted. They're also small and thin compared to a normal NY bagel. The cream cheeses look like they've been untouched and hanging out in the refrigeration case for about 1 week before they change it out. The employees are very nice but that is the only redeeming quality. The owner also does not like to use gloves and sometimes grabs the bagels with his bare hands or pulls out a used glove from his pocket to grab the bagels. read more

WHHHHY did I do it? Its hard not coming in here when you pass by everyday and it's always empty. I guess that should be my warning, but no in a rush I ran in here so I can grab something, and decided not to grab my favorite water that costs $5 a liter here and $2.50 across the street but that place doesn't sell breakfast. I got a bacon egg and cheese on a bagel. I asked them to scramble the eggs and make sure my bacon was well done/extra crispy because I hate fatty bacon. The attitudes were in check today, so I also grabbed a KIND bar near the register for later. Well, stupid me didn't check until I opened it on the train and what did I get? A FRIED egg and fatty bacon, on an untoasted bagel?! Grrrraaagh! Seriously, eating here is like throwing your money in the garbage. Next time I have an urge to stop here I am just going to hand out $10 to the next passerby. Oh, and yes a KIND bar costs like $5 here too. I get overpricing, but they straight up ROB people. Sticking to the Diner on 39th and 5th for my breakfast fix, and the juice place on 39th and 5th for my KIND bars and healthy juice fix. Notes to management: Hire a better staff, probably women, so that at least your crappy food goes down with a smile. Hire someone who knows how to cook and take orders. Special requests shouldn't be an issue when it's just to cook the item longer than usual. Hire people who speak English well, or follow directions well. Everything bagel doesn't mean plain. CUSTOMER SERVICE. Learn what that means, apply it daily, to every customer. Learn proper pricing. Sure you want to make a profit, but doubling the cost of every item isn't the way to do it. You would probably make a lot of money with better service and wouldn't need to rip off your customers to make up for all the money wasted on hiring people for your EMPTY store, and throwing out food no one wants to eat that probably goes bad on a weekly basis due to a lack of customers. Which is probably why you're so hard up to refund (or remake) $5 orders that YOU messed up. The only guy who gave this place a rave review probably works there. -__- read more

This place serves spoiled cream cheese. I ordered veggie cream cheese on a toasted bagel. I walked out and took one bite as I was waiting for the train and found the veggies in the cream cheese spoiled - sour and nasty. I went in the next day and told them, and the guy said "that's how it tastes." He totally blew me off, was really rude. They refused to refund me. Bagels are decent but the store is incredibly overpriced. $1.50 for a small coffee and $3 for a Balance Bar. Both are cheaper in Manhattan. Given the plethora of other options in the area my recommendation is to avoid. You can walk across the street and get the same items (and same quality) for $1.50 less! I normally like ordering from this place and the owner always calls to make sure they have my order correct and even throws in some fruit just because, but today was an experience id rather not have again... First I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and for 10 bucks and to not include fries is a bit ridiculous expecially for the Sunset area...like hey this isn't Park Slope or the city, at most it should of been 8 bucks.... Second the burger was completely inedible cheese was wrong bacon was undercooked and the burger itself was a frozen patty that was overcooked and dry to the max....if you're going to charge 10 bucks for that at least make sure you are serving fresh ground beef patties and making sure you're cooks know how to cook.... I really liked this place but after calling and speaking to whoever was there and him being so rude over the phone and refusing a refund im not sure if i will be ordering from here again......it's sad because this is my go to spot for breakfast and my first time ordering the owner called me and welcome me to the neighborhood and all....only time will tell now...
